After having our first exam with Dr. Z, I trust her with my cat's life because the care she took by trying to understand his symptoms, medical history, etc. Also, she explains things in a way that makes sense. Instructions prior to my cat's biopsy were easy to understand and provided ahead of time. The day of the procedure I felt confident leaving my sweet boy in the vet team's hands.

Dr. James is so compassionate and clearly loves animals. She does the right thing by pets and their owners and is clinically excellent but takes things step by step to do the right thing not the most expensive thing. As a result animals are well cared for and outcomes are excellent We have also sadly been there when things end unfortunately due to age and Dr.James and her team care, doing the right thing by the pet but ultimately leaving the decision up to the owner albeit very a informed decision. They give you the space you need and provided us with ornaments of a lost pets paw and always follow up with a kind card. This practice is excellent and Dr. James is caring, compassionate, skilled and ethical. I highly recommend this practice

I was referred to Dr James after adopting my rescue pup a few months ago. My most recent visit I called in a panic because my dog was limping and the staff was incredibly sweet. They were able to see my pup and provide her with a diagnosis to help her leg feel better. I personally think this place is a total scam…read more Brought my dog in for what I thought was an allergy skin issue.. The doctor took one look and said, it's a hot spot. I've seen them all day . She didn't even entertain the idea that it could be something else. So first batch of meds and ointment didn't work. I go back. We try another round of different meds . I have to tell the doctor I want to be more aggressive. I want to fight what ever she has. I have noticed that whenever my dog had any issues . (It was always her ears ). They'd give me a medicine that would do nothing or feed whatever she had. Then I'd always have to go back and get more. I think it's a total scam. So I go to another vet to get another to get another opinion. While I'm there they leave me a message saying she has fungal. The new vet calls to get records but of course they don't want to send them. I have to call and ask them to send them. Sooner rather than later Long story short, misdiagnosed has cost my dog her life. This place makes me sick and yes they're beyond over priced. I had to request that Olmos Park send the labs (The Dr said a blood panel was not needed) and after I called to request that the lab results- no one called me. I called back to have them send me the labs via email which they promptly did. Labs came back abnormal- the next day I took him to his previous vet- who took care of him properly. The office staff was very nice and professional- never heard from the doctor. I can not recommend this clinic.

They then take my Sweeties back and do whatever they know is best yet allowing me to make decisions as to what I feel. I have been to a lot of animal hospitals in my long life but none come close to Olmos Animal Hospital. I recommend them highly. I will be there till the end. They have moved to the building south of the old one. They have a beautiful waiting area. All new beautiful building. They are having their grand opening today. I believe it take place from 5 pm through 7 pm. Go see for yourselves. There is parking at the car wash. The owner/veterinarian and her staff will welcome you. They all have hearts of gold, courteous, and a heck of a group of diligent workers. You may decide this is the place for you to take your furry babies. Edgar, 13 year old mixed, 60 pound fella was unable to stand up on his own one evening, lethargic…read moreand acted like he had just given up. Mind you this all occurred during an eight hour time span. Dr Meyer had labs drawn and Edgar spent the night in the doggy hotel and had the best care. The next evening Edgar was pretty perky and ready to walk. He was given iv fluids for 24 hours and had repeat labs that showed some improvement. He was on medication twice a day and improved greatly in a three week span. I highly recommend North Star 410. The entire staff is caring and loving to each and every animal. Edgar loves going to the vet and almost wags his tail off when he sees the ladies and Dr Meyer.
