This was the closest batting cage I could find near me in the East Bay since Blue Skies in Pinole closed. One token gives you 20 balls. If you buy 10 tokens for $30, they give you an extra 2 tokens! Time was well spent here and they have a variety of lob to fast pitch, softball & baseball. Giving this place 4 stars because one of the pitching machines seemed a little wompy, throwing pitches all over the place and not the strike zone even after adjusting. One of the softball machines was also out of order. Would definitely come back though! read more

My boyfriend took me here for a date, and it was one of the most fun experiences I've had. The facility is old, but relatively well-kept. Prices were affordable too! Only a couple of bucks for tokens to feed the machines. There are a couple of different options you can choose from (e.g. baseball vs. softball, slow-pitch vs. fast-pitch). Some of the pitches thrown at me were hard to hit, and at one point, we had to shag our own balls. But overall, this was a great place to visit. My friend and I had so much fun here! Although I'm not very good at baseball/softball, I had a great time! There are around 5 or 6 batting cages. Each has their own setting on how fast of slow you want the pitches to be. You can adjust on the machine the settings to baseball to softball with a turn of a switch. The machine takes tokens which you can get in the front before you enter the cages. Prices were reasonable. Machines are old, inaccurate, and inconsistent. They seriously need to revamp this place. It is not fun to hit here.

Since there isn't other batting cages around the Concord area, we don't have much choice on places to go. The slow softball cage has seen ( on the end ) better days...lots of holes in the nets and equipment is very dated. Takes forever for the balls to go through the cycle. read more

For the price I really enjoy this batting cage. And I live locally so it's easy to get to. I actually kind a like the older nostalgic 1970s feel and look to the place. They have five different cages that operate at different speeds, lowest is around 35, 45, 55, 65 TopSpeed, around 75. It's never been too crowded for me. The amenity is not quite new but the price is really affordable with 3 dollars per token for 20 balls and 30 dollars for 12 tokens. Many youths/ future stars practice here. Always gets busy after 5pm. I honestly want to give a five star but want people to know this is an old facility however personally I don't feel it's an issue, that's part of why it's not expensive and a good place for a good practicing. read more

The staff here are great. Always willing to help when needed. I take our 7 year old and 10 year old here for softball. They even turn down the cage a bit for the 7 year old. Highly recommend them to everyone. read more

We have been looking for a great East Bay batting cage that's easy to get into and not that expensive - this is it! We came during a winter weekend, late morning and was able to quickly get a cage for my AA little leaguer. Super friendly folks and reasonable price. Cages are not fancy but we didn't need that - and they worked just fine. read more

I had a great experience here. I came without a bat and they gave me one to use. The facility is old however it's been maintained well. There are 4 cages and 2 have slow pitch softball options. All 4 have baseball options. I went on a Monday evening in April and it was quite busy. Allow yourself extra time if you're going to come here. 5 stars for convenience. It's snuggled between our league's fields and open 7 days a week. -2 stars for claustrophobia. The cages are small and dark. It's kind of tough to tell just how good/bad you are at hitting. +1 star for pitching accuracy. The pitches do vary but they are all either very close to, or in, the strike zone. -1 star for having the name "Payless". I can get 25 pitches for $2 at Golf & Games vs. $2.95 for your 20. +1 a star for the guy in the office pausing the Raider game for us (we were Tivo-ing it at home and didn't want to know what was going on). 5 - 2 + 1 - 1 + 1 = 4 stars read more

This place currently has 4 stars. In my opinion that's a bit generous considering the price for a round of 20 pitches ($3.00). I like that they are open somewhat late, and the location is ideal considering it's right next to all the fields which allows you to get some swings in before a game. My issues are the prices and the fact that you have to spend $30 to get a measly discount of 2 bonus tokens. Not really the best deal around, especially when you consider how nice the batting cages in San Ramon are and the fact that they offer sweet deals on Groupon. All in all, the Payless batting cages are good but not great and they do not live up to the "Payless" name. If it was called Paymore Batting Cages I would agree with the 4 star ranking it currently has but until then, 3 stars is all I can give. read more

Multiple baseball cages. Pretty consistent delivery from machines. Token based operation works really well. Rarely does a token jam. Outdoors, but covered and system works well when raining. Softball and baseball delivery is from spinning wheels rather than a mechanical arm. Nevertheless, good enough for basic timing and hand/eye coordination. read more

A little pricey, but we like it here ($30 for 10 tokens + 2 free). It would be cool if they offered specials (hint hint). They have 5 or 6 different cages with varying speeds for baseball or softball. Clean facilities, properly working equipment, bats & helmets available for use, gloves for sale. Surrounded by well-maintained baseball fields for additional practice (throwing, catching, grounders, etc) with picnic tables and restrooms. We'll def keep coming here. read more

Overall, I like these cages. Pitches are pretty consistent and prices are reasonable. The equipment works fine, but every now and then the feeder gets clogged. Also, the lighting in some of the cages is spotty. Still, a great place to get some swings in. read more

Like other people have said, It is a little pricey but the next closest place is pricier so.... My boy real complaint is the men's bathroom was locked but that is not controlled by Payless. It's the parks rest room. The cages are older and the feed system can be slow but it is still fun to hit here. read more

Super convenient, these batting cages are right in the middle of Willow Pass Fields. Went there for the frist time today after softball practice just to see what the deal was. Turns out, it's a pretty good deal. A $2.35 token gets 20 balls hurled at you in outdoor, covered cages. Each cage is setup for dual hitting, so they make most out of the the facilities. The place was simple and clean. I only would ask that there was more light. It was covered, so the shade was nice, but is was a little on the dark side to me. Other than that, I enjoyed the experience and will be going back over the next couple months. read more

I like this place, my daughter has been playing fastpitch softball for a few years and needs batting practice that I can't duplicate for her. I have taken to other cages and found them to not be very good. These cages are good. They are speed and height adjustable. They come in a little diffwent everywhere pitch so you have to watch the ball. We buy ten tokens for $30 and get one token free. Not really cheap, but reasonable. read more

Convenient batting cage. Equipment is old and balls don't seem plentiful enough so that there are not long pauses between pitches (sometimes you have to wait a minute for the next pitch). Hard to get a rythme without consistent timely pitches. How hard can it be to load up more balls. The staff is generally helpful though! read more

He also readjusted the machine so it would pitch in my strike zone and gave me an extra game for free. The only thing that I wish would be different is that it wasn't so fenced in - i like to see how far I'm hitting the balls. It was my first time at a batting cage in a long long time. I took my son for some batting practice. Had heard good things about this place so decided to make the trek out to concord. First off I would recommend you don't go during the weekend as the batting cages is in between to baseball fields. It was super crowded. The batting cages do not have designated parking spots, hence the 4 stars. I did however create my own parking spot and the attended was cool with it. There are 5 cages, all in good shape. They all have different speeds as to accommodate different players and skills. The price was good, I do recommend if you want to do 30 mins or more, call and reserve a cage. Ok, so I love hitting the batting cages, and where I'm from you literally have tons of batting cages to choose from. After moving here I quickly realized that this wasn't the case anymore. This place is convenient but needs some serious upgrades. I suggest you purchase the coins rather than paying by the hour, because the balls get stuck so you're having to stop, push the balls over so that you have more pitches. read more

No a bad place, but please buy more balls to feed through the machine. You hit 3-4 in a row then wait 2 min for the balls to make it back through the system. This is not a difficult or expensive fix just buy more balls! read more
