My son joined the pre tryout clinic and loved it. I love how professional each coach was and how organized it was ran. We liked it so much that we signed him up for the Fall Academy. This reminds me of the parallel of the Rafal Tennis Academy, the Nick Bollettieri Academy, of course The Ultimate Fieldhouse is for basketball. Very clean facility. Lots of parking spot, easy to find, vending machines are filled. There is a spot for shooting, shoot 360, and amazingly an area for table tennis/ping pong. Definitely recommend this to parents whose kids are looking to tune into their basketball skills and learn team tactics and strategy. read more

My son's sessions would start while others were still on the court he was assigned. I was told that my just needed to go into the court and start shooting. I didn't feel it was my place to tell others that my session was starting. The coaches seemed bothered by questions for assistance. It was really hard to schedule sessions. I called many times to add sessions, but I never received a call back. Many kids hung out there. Horrible place, horrible experience. Basketball is the least of this staff's priority. read more

We attended two sessions Saturdays for few months. We really liked coach Marcus but they have big initiation fees and monthly recharge... then, you have to book each session and if a month has extra week you have to purchase to attend all the Saturdays but if you don't book sessions within the month, you can't roll over. We. Is it a lot gyms around the Bay Area for hoops and while on the surface this facility seems nice it's incredibly mediocre. The floors and baskets are great. Bathrooms are always thrashed, no paper towels, just the blow driers that blow germs all over. Score boards work intermittently. Ventilation is atrocious. Hundreds of kids playing games inside of course it will heat up. But there's a severe lack of air movement despite having roll up doors available that could help with airflow. Gym fees are way overpriced. This one I put more on the tournament host but this is a partnership between the facility and the tournament host. It's not a bad gym but should be much better than it is. read more

The only friendly employee I encountered was ONE of the refs of my son's game for their thanksgiving tournament. My biggest complaint other than the unkept bathrooms and employees was the amount of money they asked to enter the building for the tournament EACH day. For example my son played Friday evening, we paid $40 to enter as a family of 4 that was watching. His second game was Saturday morning. How is that fair? We then had to pay another $40 to watch the game after being there the night before and paying the same. Third game Sunday afternoon....same. Another $40. UNREAL!!!!! read more

This is a facility that is part of a large sports complex in Walnut Creek. The Ultimate Fieldhouse offers a couple different things depending on what you are looking for. We took our kids here for a trial on both the group class and the Shoot 360 practice area. We did decide to sign our kids up for the group classes and after a few months, we will have them practice what they learned in the Shoot 360. I will breakdown my review based on my first impressions and the trial experience. I will update this review as we continue to complete classes when I have more experiences here. Facility: 3/5 This is a pretty nice facility. There are I think 4 courts where they conduct the group classes. The Shoot 360 is in its own area with several half court practice areas. The courts themselves are very clean and seem well maintained. There are some bleachers at one end of the courts in the group class area, but if your kid is at the other end of the court, there was no seating there. It does appear that they have foldable chairs that were stored in the group class area, but none of the staff offered to set any up. So I wasn't sure if these are only used for certain events. The Shoot 360 area had very little seating. There was 1 chair in the court area that we were in and no chairs in the lobby area. It is cool though that parents can go onto the court area and help coach/practice with their kid. I've seen other reviews about the AC and it being hot, however this was not the case when we went. It was a good temperature inside. In the men's bathroom, there was dried blood on the sink and on the hand dryer. I wasn't sure if this had just happened after the bathroom was cleaned, or if it had been there a while. The only reason this was not 5/5 was because of the little seating and the cleanliness of the sink area in the bathroom. Technology: 5/5 The technology particularly in the Shoot 360 area was really cool. They have 4 lanes where you can practice your ball handling/passing skills. This is done with a large screen that has different engaging activities for your kid to do. For example, one activity has bugs crawling across the screen and you hit them with the basketball. The shooting area has an intuitive pass machine with a TV that has detailed analytics with each shot. This is great for seeing what aspects of your shot need improvement. This would be very helpful for someone that is serious about improving their game and wants to practice technique they have already learned. This program saves your results and you can review them at home as well, which is a really cool. I would recommend signing up for Shoot 360 only if your kid has some knowledge of proper technique. Otherwise, they may develop habits that will need to be broken later. Unless, you just want to do this for fun and don't plan on playing competitively. Customer Service: 3/5 We had a 30 minute trial at the ball handling area and a 30 minute trial at the shooting area. We got to our time slot a little early, but no one helped up until several minutes after our time started. By the time the boys got to the handling lane there was 23 minutes left on their clock. (However, if your kid signs up, this shouldn't be a problem for future appointments because your kid won't have to wait to be escorted or have to receive direction from staff.) However, the coaches that helped us were nice and knowledgeable about the skills. Classes: 5/5 I really liked the group class that our boys did. The group was not huge, so the coach was able to see what each kid was doing and correct them accordingly. There are different classes that focus on different skills that you can sign up for on different days of the weeks. The classes are 50 minutes which goes by quick but, I felt they got a lot of instruction in that amount of time. The coach we had for this class was strict with the skills and the form, but fair and supportive which I liked to see. They also have private coaching classes available as well as small leagues that you can participate in if you want to put your skills to the test on a team. Pricing: 4/5 The pricing is not bad. For the Shoot 360 you can commit to Monthly ($179), for 3 months ($165/month), 6 month ($150/month) or for 12 months ($135/month). This price gets you access for unlimited days for up to 1.5 hours a day based on availability. (The shooting and the ball handling are in 30 min. increments). For the Ultimate Player Development Classes you buy credits per kid and can use them at your leisure. You can purchase a 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 sessions. The more you buy, the cheaper it is. 1 session is $35 and 24 sessions is $648 ($27/session). Overall I think this will be a great place for our kids to start and develop their skills in basketball. I think this is a great resource if your kid is serious about basketball and wanting to improve. It's also great if you just want a place for your kid to learn the game and burn some steam. read more

Nice venue for sporting events had a nice big parking lot. There were 4 corts for basketball or others. They had a shooting and passing area for training (this you have to pay for), BUT the biggest downfall was that the restrooms were HORRIBLE! 3 out of 3 had the rolls of toilet paper rolling all over the bathroom, 2 out of 3 had the toilet paper dispenser laying on the floor ( this was for the 4 hours I was there) people who I came in contact with never smiled for acknowledged you. Came here for my nephew's 6th birthday party. It seems to be a good place for open gym and tournament style sports. Whether it's basketball or soccer they seem to cover both. There is a side room that you can rent for birthday parties. You are allowed to bring your own food which is great which is great. My sister-in-law kept it simple with pizza and a couple of vegetable trays which is perfect for a group of boys who are more interested in the free play. When we were there, there were a lot of league games going on. Parents can sit on the bleachers but if you are dropping your kids off to play or participate in the open gym type space, there is a lobby area you can sit at. There are only a few round tables and chairs in the lobby area so this is a very "lounge + observe" type location which is fine given the intent. The parking lot is pretty small. There is still a lot of construction going on so hopefully once it's all done this will provide more parking space. Also, make sure to come with your own snacks and water. What a nice facility for indoor basketball! We came here for a kids birthday party and it was a great venue just for that. Kids get to exercise without worrying about outdoor weather conditions and even parents can have some fun! The facility is clean, spacious and well lit. As a result of their charge, my husband opted out of going one game, some parents just dropped off at the door, and I seriously had to consider if I wanted to pay for my parents, brother, and sister-in-law to go in. The Under Armour banners of Steph Curry gives this place a special feel compared to other facilities in the Bay Area. The four basketball courts are in great condition. Ample seating for each basketball court and nice lobby entrance when you walk in. There are also 4 shooting machines in the facility. This review is for kids basketball tournaments at the Ultimate Fieldhouse. I saw 3 playing areas. The main room has 3 basketball courts side by side. There is an auxiliary area with 1 court. There is another smaller room that looks like it's used for basketball themed birthday parties or special training sessions. There is a lobby area, clean bathrooms and water fountains. Limited bleacher seats for parents and fans. Lots of parking. The refs are mostly awesome. They are patient, consistent, and patient with young players. Score boards make for an authentic experience. The whistles and buzzer sounds can get confusing when all games are going on at the same time. $7 adult admission to watch their own child play is a bit of a gouge. Maybe it helps them limit the attendance since there aren't a whole lot of bleacher seats. If you're a Steph Curry fan you will get a kick out of all the banners with his image. Some coaches & fans can get overly enthusiastic but that's to be expected. read more

Went to Walnut Creek to watch my nephew's basketball game. The facility where he played is called the Ultimate Fieldhouse. It is a very large and clean facility, and it is a great place to play basketball. I saw 4 full court basketball courts. There is also a separate practice court. I am guessing that other sports can be played here as well such as volleyball. Only problem that I saw was that there is not enough seating. For the basketball game we watched, there were lots of folks just standing cause there was nowhere to sit. Kind of difficult to enjoy a basketball tournament if you are standing all the time. Other than that, I saw no issues. Although some folks complained that it was too hot. Don't know if they have A/C or not. read more

Review is for the actual facilities. Excellent basketball facility - well ventilated, well-lit and high quality wood courts (along with working scoreboards and limited seating to watch games.) There are other training facilities inside TUF which look nice, but haven't used them (shooting cage, training area, etc.) I've been to TUF a few times and have rarely seen any staff. When I have seen them, they seem a bit disengaged, which leads to the place being borderline out of control (kids throwing water bottles around, running in the halls, being generally annoying.) The Ultimate Fieldhouse potential to either be a top-flight basketball facility or a run-down and beat up mess in a few years. Message to ownership: protect your investment by adding staff on busy weekends to police the place, it gets a little unruly. Overall, pretty nice. 4 stars. read more

Leadership all starts when you have a community to help mold and groom the youth to advance in more than traditional ways. This place serves as a place of teamwork, fun and execution and provides tons of activities to keep a young athlete performing at high levels. The Ultimate Fieldhouse impressed my fam and I. (I use the shooting machines often and results are showing due to it!) Regarding the facilities - it does get busy at times as there are teams and families coming in and out constantly. Because this place gets very active, I totally understand how the restrooms may get overlooked, but i'm sure the staff already knows that and are taking care of it. I had been here multiple times and they are really good with kids. The lil one had Birthday party celebration last year. I also had taken the little guy to a couple of "free" basketball clinics which were sponsored by John Muir. The Birthday party was a hit because they had learned some dribble skills, and also had a chance play Dodgeball. They let us bring outside food for the party, and also had a private party room. The automatic shooting drill where the machine passes you the ball was my son's favorite part of the party. Staff is super friendly and its a perfect place to have a party. Customer Service here is complete TRASH. The facility itself was amazing, and tons of parking. I decided to try the shooting machines, 30 mins for $15 along with another co-worker who wanted to see the place too. The machine that I had wouldn't pass the balls back to me, I would constantly have to go and push them back so it could reset. I ended up shooting 151 balls in 30 mins, compared to my coworker who shot 276, almost double. I had alerted the staff within the first five mins, came out and reset the machine, it kept happening and happening and happening. I went back and asked if I can have some time credited to my account due to the malfunction and was told no, nothing we can do about that.... SERIOUSLY.... you can't add some more time to make up for the equipment malfunction? Facility is great, bathrooms clean, customer service terrible. read more

The facility is great! However, the staff is just not quality at all. There is nobody running the building. Nobody giving staff direction. No sense of urgency or customer service. At least at Soldier town the kids behind the counter are more respectful and attentive to the situations that occur in the building and what is needed. I'm sure nobody cares about this review nor will it effect business, but hopefully management will take a good hard look at who is representing that building! Although I work for the organization that was using the facility, I will not be returning and my coordinator is pretty upset that I am not. If there was a zero star, that's what I would give them. Got here at 8am for a tournament, doors opened at 8:15am. They charged $12 entry fee and that bathrooms weren't working!!! Our first time visiting this hidden gem was for an 8th bday party. Their "coach" for the day kept the kids engaged and excited. The party, which consisted of about 10 boys and girls, played dodgeball and short basketball games. They even spent roughly 20 minutes on basketball drills. The host of the party was able to feed and entertain the guests in a spacious room. The life size images of basketball greats such as Jordan, Bird and Curry gave the room character as well as awesome photo ops for the kids. So my sisters team played against the "ultimate Red team" but turns out.. They ended up playing 3 teams against one. White& blue ultimate team which are freshman,8th& 7th grade.. It was obvious that something was fishy.. There program is not even for experience for kids to learn and enjoy, the program they are running is unfair for the kids, it teaches them to be selfish and not playing professional. There should be playing by the legal amount of players per team other then focusing on "winning". read more

Review is specific to Girls program. Complete lack of leadership. As Patrick L said staff and coaches as well are completely disengaged. I've attempted to post a picture showing an example of the disengagement where 2 of the "coaches" are on their cell phones while the girls were in active practice mode. This behavior was witnessed by all the parents constantly. Multiple families formally complained and nothing was ever done correct the behavior. Families were so unhappy how the program was run after summer season they had less than 20 girls return. They formed an elite team which was a joke because when they didn't have enough non-elite players sign up they attempted to combine teams making girls who could barely dribble play with skilled players. The full elite team pulled out and went to another program as a unit leaving the program with maybe 4 players finally imploding the whole program. The current management was able to take a very successful program initiated by Coach Sullivan and literally run it to the ground. read more
