Paylocity is horrible. Security is gross. You can't see any your pay stabs before answering thousand of security questions. And finely when you thing is over, you have to send for a PIN which never will get to you. I spent 4 days to try get my tax document from paylocity. com and I never did. No support. No solution. My company uses Paylocity. I find it is difficult to navigate, menus are hidden in many cases and several steps are required to accomplish simple tasks. Now every time I log in, the home page has a picture of a political figure I don't particularly care for, famous for throwing the American flag on the ground like it was garbage. I am not one to leave ugly reviews, but Paylocity has really caused issues with our payroll and workflow, and because I'm the main contact at my company, it has caused me countless hours on the phone, zoom calls, etc. and hundreds of emails, only for the problems not to be resolved. The sales process seemed great -- our salesman even got me on a zoom call with one of the web developers who builds out custom access levels, etc. and they both assured me they could accommodate our company's needs. After we paid for implementation, the truth came out and we were told they couldn't do 95% of what they claimed; thus began the countless emails and zooms -- not one person, except for the salesperson, would agree to a phone call. At one point, we had around seven people on an email chain and still our issues were not resolved. Higher management simply makes excuses for employees making repeat mistakes and causing horrible issues like mixed up bank accounts, incorrect garnishments, and revoked access for key stakeholders. We are almost three months and six payrolls in, and we still haven't received answers on large issues they have supposedly been working on for weeks. If changing payroll companies wasn't such an undertaking, we'd get rid of Paylocity and go a different direction. The company is poorly run, the employees make promises they can't keep, and the communication is an F - at best. If I did my job like they've done their jobs, I wouldn't have one any longer. To say we're disappointed is a monumental understatement. I do not recommend Paylocity and wish we had gone a different route for our payroll needs. read more

I couldn't even begin to find words to adequately describe how horrible this company is. The timeclock portion and the payroll portion are not the same platform and getting the hours over to the payroll system is a nightmare! I spend hours every payroll trying to figure out how to do it, reading the instructions and ultimately calling and having someone walk me through it. You have to create multiple batches and import them and nothing is user friendly or done in a language you could possibly figure it out or remember from the previous times. Expect to wait a long time for your call to be answered and hope you get someone who can help. I have NEVER spoken to my customer service rep, not even once. I always get a recording that she is not available and have to go into the que and wait for someone different. I'm fairly certain she doesn't exist. Emails usually arent answered until the next day and never have a name so you cant find that person again to follow up. Promises the salesman made were not kept. Wish i could give zero stars. I have had nothing but problems working with this company. Wait times on hold are at least 30 minutes and the person who finally answers cannot ever help you. Pretty much always say that they are a payment processing company and for questions I need to call my former employer, except they are questions regarding communications that paylocity sent to me with a number to call if I had questions. They also never let you speak with the person handling your account, but rather relay messages supposedly. They are a nightmare and don't deserve even one star. read more

Switched to Paylocity due to their marketed pricing. Quickly learned that was a big mistake. Terrible business practices, dishonest staff and absolutely no customer support. They also pushed us to set up a 401k that ultimately ended up charging more as well than agreed to. When I finally decided enough was enough and requested to cancel Paylocity and their 401k, I was ignored for months! Continued to be charged automatically, and was later told I would have to fill out additional forms to cancel and they have the right to hold my account hostage for months (up to a year) before I am allowed to cancel despite no longer using their services. Their user interface is not user friendly, nor intuitive. Went back to ADP and could not be happier! I genuinely feel sorry for those that sign up with Paylocity, and encourage people to research alternative options that would provide a more honest, upfront and easier platform to use. read more

My company has been with Paylocity since 2020. We have had multiple serious security issues with them. They granted access to salary information to employees that should not have had that access. They sent social security numbers for some of our employees to another company they manage. When they notified us that this happened, they took no ownership of the error. I've recieved MULTIPLE notifications that our state unemployment taxes were not paid but were witheld from employees. The list goes on and on but those are the big ones. I would agree with all the other complaints concerning this company. I thought I did my homework when vetting payroll companies but if you are misled it is impossible to make a good decision. I am the only payroll person and made it clear that if I am not able to run payroll in an emergency our company would need assistance. The first time I needed help I was told "that is not what we do and it would take an act of God to have us process payroll." I am quoting another persons complaint as this is the truth. "If you own a business that employs a full time payroll department run by an MBA with emphasis in payroll equipped to oversee Paylocity's implementation team and slog through their massive database for weekly payroll, this is your company. It would also help if you only have 1-2 payrolls per month and every one of your employees is on salary. If, however, you are a small business owner with 25 hourly employees and weekly payrolls with varying deductions...if you wear multiple hats in the business, be prepared to up your work hours to rival your startup years." Long implementation and LOTS of errors that were not evident Every extra hour spent on payroll are hours taken away from my other obligations that must be made up." I have now been with Paylocity since December 2019 and we still don't have some integrations complete. The only thing good about this payroll service is the employee app and portal for time and attendance and the group in the payroll file integration team. Other than that do yourself a favor and go with another company or you will be spending way more time doing payroll with minimal assistance. I've been using Paylocity for over a year and a half. In this time, we have had repeated security issues, including a direct deposit update made by an employee go to the wrong employee (essentially, Employee A updated their bank account but instead, the update went to Employee B), staff and supervisors being able to see personal information that they should not be able to access, and far more (lies about capabilities during sales process, primarily). Customer service is pleasant, but rarely prompt or thorough. No accountability. ADP, Paychex, APS and others may not be perfect, but they can get the basics right. Paylocity cannot. Paylocity has the worst implementation process and worst customer service of any company I've ever had to work with professionally. In our first six months, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. We have at least one catastrophic issue per week. We constantly find information that is wrong; it's like someone changes our data. This week, it was termination dates. All of a sudden, all of them are wrong. We have a dedicated account rep, but we can never get him on the phone when we need him. We're lucky to hear from him 6-8 hours after we call or email. 99% of the time the phone is answered by someone else on their account team who doesn't know us and cannot help us. Their customer service team is divided into HR/Payroll, Benefits, and Time & Labor. They constantly blame each other for issues and always want to toss you around to another department when trying to fix an issue. We get "I don't know" more than 50% of the time we call to have something fixed. They don't have an answer why something went haywire. Their service model is to teach you how to fix issues; they won't fix issues for you. Most of the time, however, when you do exactly what they told you to do, it doesn't work. The software has some very nice features. But it's been VERY difficult having a system with data I can't trust and a customer service department that is hot garbage. read more

Probably the worst company I have ever had to deal with in 43 years of business. Fortunately for me I didn't have to deal with them often, but rather, my Controller, a licensed CPA who chose this company, hoping their software system would be a great feature for our employees. After two months of trying to implement this system and repeated attempts to get help from their non existent 'customer service' (someone at Paylocity has a sense of humor), who never called him back, e-mailed him back or even said... 'Go to hell',... he announced it was time to 'pull the plug' and he left to go on a much needed vacation. Processing first what he thought would be the last payroll before we switched back to our old payroll company. While he sits on a sandy beach in the Caribbean, its pay day and the only four employees who receive actual paper checks have nothing. Three of us have been each individually on the phone since 9:00 a.m. leaving our phones on hold, waiting to see how long it would take 'customer service' to pick up. Pretty clever on their part, a little after 2:00 hours on hold, they dump you off and all you get is dead air. Right now I'm still supposedly connected, and the clock is running on almost three hours.. the system never came back on. They have screwed up the HSA deposits They are missing or incorrectly coded. They miraculously dropped off 62.817 hours of an employee's PTO, no explanation or attempt to fix it since we first reported it over one month ago. We have no idea if there are more errors, without a painstaking audit on our part. They have no capability to calculate our PTO accruals in spite of repeated assurances this would not be an issue. THE ONLY THING Paylocity does is sell itself. After they have your contract, you are only a pesky annoyance to them. On to the next victim. I'm assuming based upon all the reviews I have read on line, that this company is actually some kind of sham operation, that is surviving on the cash float that is going through it. Cut your losses and run!! Above all report them to the Better Business Bureau and file a formal complaint with their state of origin Attorney General. Their General Ledger was difficult to read. When I asked about the numbers, I was actually told "we don't do decimals". It took 6 months to get our PTO correct, and that was with explaining their errors to them. If you recently signed up with Paylocity, be sure to keep your own record of PTO for backup. Absolutely incompetent staff with no recourse. They actively have set up roadblocks to escalating issues so you can't appropriately complain. It's a shame they didn't realize that they upset people enough and they will do what they need to to get the complaint heard. The amount of turnover of the representatives should tell everyone what they need to know as well. They lack the ability to distinguish between different types of employee and to appropriately account for their tax reporting to states. They fail in communication, they fail in delivery, and they fail in simplicity. There is no positive to working with Paylocity. Anyone that works in payroll will tell you there is no perfect system and they all have faults, but Paylocity really takes the cake. They're truly the worst I've ever worked with. I would NOT recommend them to anyone and will be actively shopping for a new service provider. I am not one to write a review, but I have about had it with Paylocity. Our company was acquired by another company, and they wanted us to become uniformed. If I could run from this company first chance, I would! When selling their product, they act as if they would give you the world but when it comes right down to it, they do not come through. They blame everything on another person in their office, oh so and so was supposed to handle that. It was an issue right from the beginning at implementation. They do not help you; they push everything back on you and oh yeah everything is an extra $200. We started with them on August 1st of 2023 and as of today, they still have not filed for a half dozen of our 4th quarter taxes 2023. In May of 2023 I started pushing them to apply for tax withholding numbers in 15 states, we were moving 1099 employees to employees. We paid extra money per state for them to apply for the unemployment and withholding accounts. They continue to push back on me, and I have spent tedious hours, filing for states that we paid them to file. Now they are stating they are going to charge us more for late filings, even though that is part of our monthly fees. And it is not really about the money, it's the way they treat you as a Customer, I can't even explain how bad it is. The staff makes a company great, and they need to be making a lot of staff changes or this company is going to be losing lots of business fast, if they haven't already. I am going to be pushing our parent company to make a change. It's a shame because their platform is good. I would suggest avoiding doing business with them at all costs. read more

I have had 16 jobs in my entire life and EVERY SINGLE program used is easier than this one. And that's saying a lot considering one job claimed bankruptcy on my pay check and never paid me. This program not only makes things extra difficult, but it's also time consuming and hard to use. It wouldn't let me complete any of my "tasks" on any device and delayed me getting paid for 3 paychecks! 6 weeks! And continued telling me I needed to complete tasks. There is no way I have found that I am able to check how many hours per day I worked; I was only able to see per check. Save yourself, save your employees, please don't buy this program! Responses for basic questions and concerns from my designated team (crazy high turnover) have taken up to 2 weeks. Supervisors will call, apologize and make promises that will never be kept. This is my last year here after many. Tipping Point was that I received the W2's for my organization on the afternoon of the 27th. Nothing like pressure to get things out timely for our employees. I started working for Paylocity in April and finished their 11 week Paylocity training to be a account manager. I received 2 emails of recommendation due to my fantastic customer service skills. I started working there with the assumption I would be working 9-6. on my first week I was on the phone until 8pm and was still in training. I had no idea what I was doing and Paylocity didn't care. fast forward to yesterday. 7/12/23 my first full day on the floor taking full calls with no trainers. I express my concern to my manager Mary Solenson that my baby sitter closes at 7 and that I needed to leave work at 6 to be able to get my daughter. I'm a single father with no help I explained and she didn't care. she stated that my daughter was a me problem and that I needed to figure it out. never have I been disrespected by a company in this way. Paylocity treats their account managers like trash and is the face of the company. Get use to calling and being on hold lol, we have no idea what we are doing and management doesn't care. they are more concerned with being hip than actually caring for their employees or customers. read more

Year end...my first with them...November & December was almost entirely spent fixing implementation errors that were not evident until W-2 time. I worked here for almost 3 years in the Arizona marker and had a very pleasant experience the entire time. The manager I worked for Rashanna was incredible and worked over time to help us sales reps. The software was great and the customers we sold were usually very happy. It's a competitive marker out there but Paylocity has done well overall. I left to start a new career but I still have great memories working there. Also the pay was very high too close to 6 figures first year ramp up salary plus commission. Anyone looking for a job in the payroll industry this is a leader. Also for customers their technology does take some training to learn how to use but it is very advanced. read more

Their product does not live up to expectations, and many of their customer service personnel are untrained on the product. They don't know how it works. we had a problem with a tax credit calculation in the 3rd quarter and it has still not been resolved. the tax department personal WILL NOT speak to me. i have to go through the service department. then on friday we process payroll and the taxes taken from our bank account was 1800% higher than it should have been! yes i said 1800%!! the taxes taken were almost as much as the net pay to the employees! And here we go again they can't figure out why, will not admit they screwed up and the tax depart will not actually speak to me. if you are a small company find a different payroll provider!! read more

Without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had with a vendor. Response times can be over 2 weeks with little or no communication in between as to why this is occurring. Paylocity sales did not communicate to us that they are only able to accommodate small companies. We outgrew their services on the benefit side within a few months of install. The Paylocity is so fraught with technical issues, it is ridiculous. The customer service is terrible. When calling, you are put into a queue, and, inevitably, are connected to an employee who clearly doesn't care and doesn't want to have to talk with you. Each customer is assigned with an account manager, but is not given a direct phone number or email address, so is forced to reiterate problems again and again in the queue and hope somebody will take responsibility to get resolution. During our Benefits Open Enrollment, our Paylocity Benefits Account Manager completely screwed up our account and then left for vacation in the middle of our OE without informing us that he would be gone. I was forced to make repeated phone calls to Paylocity over a period of 4 hours before I finally got somebody on the phone who was willing to listen to the issues and take ownership for resolution. I would never recommend this HRIS/Payroll System to any company! read more

We used this company in 2019 for their data base system that seemed to fit our needs so well. We took their offer to bundle that with payroll. Biggest mistake in our company's history. Within one month, they had messed up our payroll, our taxes and every move they made to correct it turned into a bigger disaster. It's been 3 years since we left and we're still dealing with W2s they claim they are filing on our behalf (in a year we were not with them) and with invoices for services not rendered.
