Several years ago, Justin Payne drew up a blueprint giving my husband and myself a 9 foot hot tub instead of a 7 foot hot tub. The contract clearly indicated 7 feet. Cant handle the work! They put on a good show on the internet and their sales team but when it cones down to the work they suck.

I definitely do NOT recommend this company. Nightmare to deal with. The entire experience was very frustrating. We weren't told ahead of time when construction materials were being dropped off, we would hear a truck at 7am and scramble to put the load someplace. We actually had to fix one of the outlets because they didn't want to send the electrician back. The inspection process was very poor and a joke. The screen enclosure took almost 3 weeks when it was a 2 day job. I tried to communicate with the owner and CFO and they refused to speak to me about all the delays with the screen enclosure. At the end of the project, the pool chemicals were completely out of balance and they refused to help. It took me a month to correct it on my own. There were so many things that would not taken care of at the end. My calls were never returned. Pick a different company. This one is very bad. read more

DON'T use this company! They are the absolute worst. During our construction the CEO and CFO would not even respond to us. The Pool was leaking and they wouldn't do anything about it or even reimburse us. We just redid all the paver sealing and again, they do not reimburse us. the screen bird cage was a 3 day job but they hardly showed up so it took 3 weeks. They lie to get the business. The pools looks nice and communication was satisfactory, the upsetting part was no regards for damaging items. Their contract says not responsible for anything and that's exactly what it means. They used our hoses and damaged two of them along with hose sprinkler,( we had to buy new ones) ran over and destroyed two landscape, which we understand things happen. But when the sprinkler system didn't work and we saw where water was pooling in the yard, we were not happy. My husband fixed the leaking cracked spot only to find out they had broke a pipe so he had to dig down deep to fix and refix the original area. It was obvious that their subcontractors knew they broke it and it would have been easier to fix it if they did not literally cover it up. BEWARE! Payne Pool Professionals installed a new in-ground pool at our home. We paid them on time and as contracted. Upon completion of the pool, the plaster was discolored. Five months later, there were four cracks in the plaster and gunite, and our pool was losing water at an alarming rate. Payne refused to address the problems, and we wound up paying $16,637 out-of-pocket in repairs. Attempting to recoup the repair costs, we filed a lawsuit in District Court of Baldwin County (Case Nr. DV-2023-900369.00). The court ruled in our favor and entered a judgement against Payne in the amount of $18,137. We have never sued a company before and were astounded that Payne refused to stand by its warranty and disappeared. They have refused to acknowledge the court's judgement and we have had to hire more attorneys to collect. The judge's ruling was: "It is ORDERED and ADJUDGED that a judgment is hereby entered in favor of the Plaintiff, [name redacted], and against the Defendant, Payne Pool Professionals, LLC in the amount of $16,637.60, plus $1,500.00 in attorney fee reimbursement, plus costs of Court and interest." Payne does not honor their warranty, instead claiming the customer does not properly maintain their pool. In our case, nothing could be further from the truth as we had a reputable (in business for over 25 years), professional pool company performing weekly maintenance from the time Payne completed the pool. A bevy of Better Business Bureau complaints (*please check them out!*) filed against Payne show some consistent things about the company: * Their work is suboptimal. * They cut communication and do not follow up in a timely manner. * They often "blame" the homeowner for not properly maintaining their pool as the reason they will not honor a warranty. Payne replaced my liner in March. In April I informed them of several issues I had with the tile track, liner wrinkles and light. Around the same time I notified them of a leak that had developed. They finally came out six weeks later. Over the next several months I had to continually contact them to check on the status because they never kept us informed. They would say they were monitoring it. It leaked heavily for approximately five months and they never found a leak. I finally hired another company and they found a "very large " Leak under the strip at the bottom of the stairs. It was due to a stretched screw hole and was determined to be Payne's fault. I informed Payne that the leak had been found and the owner reimbursed me for the leak detection. They have fixed the cap On the strip at the stairs, however they will not fix the other issues. Additionally, I believe Payne breached its contract with me. I was quoted and invoiced for a tile track replacement but the old track was put back on. The owner says the quote and invoice were "misworded" even though he verbally told me it would be replaced. The old track was re-installed improperly and damaged. There are large gaps between the track and pool wall. Another issue is that one of my lights filled up with water when the pool was refilled. Payne resealed the light but it has filled back up and has now stopped working. I took some of the liner pictures with a flashlight, and can only imagine what the liner will actually look like when the light is fixed. Payne says I'm being nit-picky and that the defects are normal. They will not fix the issues and have stopped communicating with me. My experience with Payne has been a nightmare! Looks like we're headed to court. read more

Payne Pools from Gulf Breeze....is horrible. We informed them that we had a sand bottom pool from the start. They said they could do sand bottom pools and then they were surprised when it was time to do the job, to discover I had a sand bottom pool. "This was their first and last." says Payne Pool. They No longer do them. Attention to detail... I don't think so Sold us on the Tile track...no longer do them? Good communication .... not at all! We had to chase them down. They cut the liner and hid it behind the tile track.... we found it... took 4 months to "fix"... and over 3 complete drains and refills of the water ($900 and over 80,000 gallons of water wasted) because they could not get it right. Left us with a liner that is not fitting properly around the stairs with wrinkles and a very uneven bottom. Our Polaris cannot clean these craters because they are so deep. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS COMPANY!! THEY DO NOT DELIVER ON THEIR PROMISES. read more

After accepting estimate from Payne Pools was Told they were available to start in about 3 weeks. Gave them half down payment on May 6 and they took till 8 August to finish. They were terrible at communicating. They were terrible at cleanup. And never made any effort to clean the pool or my yard. Great at excuses for not showing up. Job was Average at best. read more
