So does Cdn Tire! Paint - for painting. supplies - for everything, electrical, plumbing, etc. etc. etc. Does it have everything? no, but it has the most common needs a home owner typically y has! Plus it is only 5 minutes from my house......HUGE bonus points. Yes the Rona/Kent/Home Depot in Bayer's Lake are bigger/better/ more ominous, but they are further away when you need say a junction box and generic ceiling light to add in my basement! ( last nights project!)

I've done that on a couple of occasions when I had bought some piece on 'spec' that it would fit, but didn't - they honoured their pledge: No questions asked! Now their stores are in many larger Canadian cities and I look for them and spend my free time there when the wife is doing her thing at some girly store - Actually, she sometimes likes to browse there too.

It has everything, tools, power units (chippers, generators, etc), trailer accessories, welding, the list goes on. The house brand is POWER FIST, and i have mixed feelings on it. The prices seem to be as good or slightly better than the Mastercraft (Cdn tire brand) but i don't feel the quality is on the same field, althoguh close. Do i own Power Fist tools? Hell yeah, for what i do, i usually go with the best price! Yes the place seems like it is in disarray, with stuff everywhere, but spend a little time in there and it makes sense. They've got a fine, if small, chandlery section, if you need to work on your boat. And they sell Benjamin Moore paints and are truly experts in this area. I don't go anywhere else for my paint. Most importantly, this store has the best staff ever! They are helpful and knowledgeable, especially the ones who have been there a decade or more. No matter what project you're working on, the established staff members like Sandy, Elaine, Ron and Ronnie can help you figure out what you need. I can't believe how rude and inconsiderate the people at this store are. During a weekday at…read moremidday, they painted their back room with a paint that had a STRONG odor. I don't mean it just stinks, but the fumes were actually dangerous. It fumed out the stores 2-3 down on either side of their business. Some places even had to close it was so bad. A few people had to go home with migraines and nose bleeds. No warning was given to any of the businesses in the area. When they were asked to stop painting because it was making people ill they were very rude about it. What I don't get is this: You're a paint store, why did you think this was a good idea? Did you simply not know the paint caused such bad fumes? Not a place I'd trust to sell me paint, that's for sure.
