i like my bank (most of the time) it has a lot to offer me as a bank client,…read more PS: but really if i find a better bank i'd probably drop them quick. never had a single issue with them til i made a big purchase (20k) and they froze my account while in a different state and it took 48 hours and many many many long phone calls with over 20 different bank associated to unfreeze my money.

I went to cash a check and it was processed without confirming my intent. When I was told I could…read moreonly deposit it due to not having enough funds in my account, I clearly said no -- I was only trying to cash the check. Despite this, they ran the check through anyway and then stamped it, compounding the error. Because of that stamp, the check can no longer be cashed anywhere else and is now only usable for deposit at Chase. This became clear after I attempted to cash the check at Walmart, where I was told it should never have been stamped and therefore could not be cashed. I went to a second Walmart and received the same response. When I raised the issue at the original Chase branch, I was told that this was "normal procedure" and that they had done nothing wrong -- which is shocking. Running a check without first confirming whether it can be cashed, and then "correcting" that error by stamping it, should not be considered normal procedure. To get further clarification, I went to another Chase branch, where I was again told that stamping the check is standard procedure. However, this was also the first time I was told they "do not know how other places operate," which is equally concerning and highlights a lack of awareness of the real-world impact on customers. They are effectively turning checks into trash everywhere else, making them only depositable with Chase unless the customer already has sufficient funds available in their account. To avoid this situation altogether, the bank should confirm whether a check can be cashed and avoid stamping it entirely unless the customer explicitly authorizes a deposit. This entire situation is the result of Chase's actions, yet the customer is the one left dealing with the consequences. I also contacted Chase customer service, who apologized and acknowledged the issue. It appears this branch is operating mechanically rather than thoughtfully, indicating a need for additional training and process improvement. The representatives words. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same headache. I do NOT recommend this branch.

Yelping a bank branch. Go figure…read more I went in with questions and left with a rough idea of answers! Yay! Going inside was WAY better than calling. The staff here was pleasant and helpful. I sat at the bankers desk and she ended up having to call for some help. That was nice, as she did not just shrug it off. I liked that a lot. She was very helpful. The only reason I did not give a five-star? During the call, the branch banker did not completely understand the answer. She offered to have the person on the other end explain it to me. They declined, instead of saying it again the the branch banker. I asked why they did not want to speak with me and was told, that person is not allowed to speak to customers. Weird. From what I understand, they opened a second account that I can't see. I really don't get it, honestly. Where I work we involve the customer more, so they not only understand the answer to their question, but also have confidence in the answer. I left grateful, and with a rough idea of the answer. Really rough, but I sort of get it. Maybe... Sort of. The best answer seems to pay off my loan as fast as I can. And, I'll still bank here.

I am extremely disappointed with this bank's customer service and lack of basic compassion…read more Despite multiple clear requests, the bank continues to make repeated phone calls to my mother's home phone, even though she is injured and currently residing in a nursing facility. No one is at her home to answer these calls, yet the bank keeps calling "to confirm information." Over the past several weeks, I have contacted the bank numerous times asking for one simple accommodation: stop calling the home phone and update the contact method on file. Each time, staff claimed they "cannot be flexible" or "cannot update the profile." That is not an acceptable excuse. Internal system limitations are not the customer's responsibility, and they certainly do not justify ongoing harassment. At this point, the repeated calls are no longer a mistake -- they reflect a deliberate failure to act after repeated notice. This situation has caused unnecessary stress for our family and raises serious concerns about customer service standards and compliance. I would strongly caution others before banking here.
