I will never order again from Peapod Delivers or Stop & Shop. This isn't the first time they delivered meats like this. I had issues with chicken as well. Not to mention their fruits. I don't know whoever packs the food for the orders..... but really???? Would you give this to your family? Browned meat that looks like it went rancid before it even was delivered. Unacceptable!!!! I just had a baby and I have 2 kids under 2 so it's hard to get out. Just trying to help others and bring to light the quality of service and food Stop & Shop delivers. I guess I will have to figure out another way because this is not only an inconvenience but a waste of money. I feel bad for elderly people who actually order from Peapod. They have a minimum of a $60 grocery amount in order to get a delivery. We all know that elderly don't make much money and some have no means of getting out of the house to shop. They send you an email to let you know when they are on the way. There are convenient delivery times to select. Stop and shop often offers free delivery with chosen products to order. Peapod completely dropped the ball during coronavirus outbreak. I am disgusted by the poor service and inability to reach anyone by phone. I ordered $750 worth of groceries and got only 2 frozen pizzas and a brick of cheese and some bottled water. No meat, no milk, no bread, no yogurt, no pantry items, no cleaning items. The best way to shop. I am happy with Peapod overall, sometimes they are late and they mess up but people make mistakes I know I am not perfect. They will refund you the money or give you a discount if you are not happy so that shows me they care about their customers and want to keep them happy. Pea Pods delivery service is OK but it's an added expense to an already high bill. I have to live on disability now and don't drive. Pea Pod doesn't accept food stamps claiming there are too many government restrictions and they don't have the capability to update their website to change this which I find to be a very poor excuse and just don't understand especially now with this awful pandemic going on. If there was a negative star I would use it. Absolutely horrible customer service. Thursday Confirmed an order to be delivered to Fire Island. Told an extra $5 per box. No problem. Ordered Thursday for Sunday. Saturday afternoon I get a call that they don't deliver to the island and that they don't go to the bayshore ferry and they can't bring to sayville ferry till Monday and can't have my order ready till after 3pm on Sunday. I have ordered from Peapod a few times within the past few months when I'm unable to get to the grocery store and every time I'm disappointed. I get the WORST produce picked for me and expired items every time. I keep doing it hoping it was just a one time thing but I honestly think that whoever goes around the store to gather my items could care less what they give me. I will never suggest this to anyone. I have been known to call Pea Pod grocery delivery if I have a very large order or have many items that would call for me to run down all aisles to locate them. After you have placed a few orders, the $6 delivery fee will be waived for two orders within a given time frame. Look online for a coupon for first time users. I always tip the driver according to how much the tab happens to be. It is always over a $100, and I tip five and up. The meats arrive fresh and best of choice. The veg., likewise. Check the eggs. Often the driver will check, but I have had my entry covered in egg as the some were broken. They wrote off the eggs. Don't oder anything that can be mangled. It will be mangled. I don't order pears, bananas, or other non pkg. soft fruits. Do order your bulk or heavy items such as paper towels, toilet paper, juices and sodas. Let them do the lifting. The drivers are very curtious and aim to please. I have used the svc from the StopNShop store in Medford, but I am sure there are services offered through the local StopNShop near you. This is an especially good idea before holidays or when you have many items needed for specific recipes. There is occassion when they do not have a particular item, and you will be told at the door.I specify that I will not accept any name brand other than that noted otherwise I will get a lot of store brand which I don't want. First I want to say the drivers at Peapod are awesome and deserve every penny they get and more. They actually care.... my complaint: Much of the food spoils quickly; I have received beat up and ugly produce. I don't mind ugly produce; but I think I should be allowed to decide if that is ok for my order - not some random picker at Peapod who I am quite sure just does not care. I have also received items I did not order and some times items I did never show up. I have received spoiled fruit because no one looked at it before putting it in the bag. I've used this delivery service for almost 6 months now. I've since stopped ordering produce because it's never fresh. I feel like they purposely give you the stuff that's going bad. Also, I've ordered flowers once and they were straight up brown and dead. They are really good about refunding you if you call customer service, but it's a huge inconvenience. Also I've found the delivery window time to be a little annoying. The window I want is always taken and you can't track the truck. Which wouldn't be a big deal but my delivery always shows up late or right at the cut off. I make sure I am home right on time but it's in vain because they are never early. I feel like the amount you pay for the delivery and the driver tip isn't really worth the convenance.
