I am writing to share a complaint about my recent post-op massage with Lori. I have had two previous therapists at this location and both experiences were excellent, so this appointment was very disappointing. From the beginning of the session, Lori was extremely rough with the massage. Post-op massages require care and gentleness, but throughout the entire appointment her technique felt overly aggressive and uncomfortable. In addition, she made several comments about my body that were inappropriate and insulting. She asked if I had liposuction on my arms, which I did not. She then asked when I had a tummy tuck, which I have also never had I only had a C-section. These assumptions were unnecessary and made me feel uncomfortable during the session. There were also moments that felt very unprofessional. At one point she tossed a pillow onto my neck area instead of placing it properly, and when wiping the oils off my body with a towel she was extremely rough. This is something I have never experienced during any massage, especially a post-op massage where extra care should be taken. Because my previous therapists were so professional and gentle, this experience stood out for all the wrong reasons. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the level of care and professionalism during this appointment did not meet the standard I experienced before. read more

I had a wonderful experience. The decor is very calming in shades of green and blue. The actual massage room was small but well appointed and lit nicely. Tabitha was my therapist for a combination lymphatic drainage and relaxation session. She provided me with a heavenly warmed neck pillow and gave me an expert massage. Afterwards we talked about a treatment plan at my request, and I'm set up for more sessions. This isn't a place with fancy spa extras, but if you want an excellent massage at a good price in a nice, comfortable, and clean environment, you'll love Peace through Massage. read more

Let me start by saying I have been here more than half a dozen times since finding them this year. I have had several therapists, and they are ALL AMAZING. I have to say, however, Lori Lister has been a lifesaver for me! I was having recent shoulder issues, and she is just MAGICAL with how she helps with the pain, and when I leave, I know I am in for an amazing night of sleep due to finally being pain-free. Fantastic experience with Denise! She listens to your needs and is highly competent when it comes to massage strokes. I got a 60 min deep tissue massage and it was perfect! Scheduled a couples massage for valentines and I gotta admit the massage was underwhelming and I thought it would be getting a lot more for my money. It wasn't "bad", it was just... extremely okay. Maybe I got an inexperienced massage therapist, she did look young. I don't remember them asking anything about my target area preference, massage style preference, nothing. I just know I wanted more than one hour because we work very hard and we needed the mental and physical benefits from the retreat itself but sadly I don't feel like they aimed at our physical wellness, it seems their priority is just relaxation which is fine. Atmosphere was what I expected, the place was clean and it smelled good. Service was great. I'll probably have to do more research to find a better spot when we treat ourselves on our anniversary again. read more

My brother lives in Oklahoma and he booked me a massage as a Christmas gift. I was having some health issues so I called to reschedule. I ended up having surgery on January 6th. I had scheduled for January 25th. I'm home recovering from a major surgery and it slipped my mind, so I called the day of which would be yesterday. Shannon answered and stated that she would have to charge me a cancellation fee because I called so late. She said it wasn't fair to the massage therapist which I understand, however, I had surgery. It's not like I did it on purpose. I'm in pain and the last thing I was thinking about was a massage. I paid the cancellation fee and I canceled the appointment. I think it's completely unprofessional for them to charge me a cancellation fee when I just had surgery and that's the reason I didn't go and I forgot to call the day before. This isn't the normal place I usually go for massages. I will continue to go to my massage place. Bad business on their part. read more

Peace Through Massage is located in the Alamo Gymnastics Center. I had an appointment with Shannon to help me with my sore hip after running. She was very prompt and very comfortable and made sure to have the soothing music and hot stones ready. It was a treat. She worked on my sore muscles and did lots of stretching to open up my hips. It was so nice I didn't want to get off the table. She has an introductory charge of $39 an hour but I only paid $50 for a 90 minute session, which I thought was pretty good. I am very excited that this is offered at Alamo because they have free child care there if you need it, which is great for stay at home moms. read more

Where do I start? Shannon is by far the best in town! I recently had a bbl and 360 lipo in Miami, my doctor recommended 8-10 lymphatic massages once I arrived back home to San Antonio. I came across several practices in San Antonio but many had no idea what a lymphatic massage was. Then I found Shannon & I'm so glad I did. Once I arrived she had the massage bed set up to where I can lay on my back with pillows under my thighs and back to let my butt hang. How it should be to prevent from ruining my BBL. (Which was a HUGE plus) Her massages are amazing, getting lymphatic massages can be tough since your body is still numb and sensitive but she made the whole process so relaxing & honestly every time I put my faja back on after the massages I'm able to go down a size on my faja.
