COVID seems to have hit the Peach Park pretty hard. There didn't appear to be as many options and inside dining was closed. All employees we saw followed mask and social distancing guidelines - too bad the other customers didn't. We got peach and apple fried pies to go - they weren't that great. What a fantastic find on our road trip! We weren't planning to stop but one child had to use the restroom. The Peach Park just looked cute and we decided to go in. And we're so glad we did! The grounds are beautiful and have little trails to walk. There's a boutique, a country store, a sweets and homemade ice cream shop, and a diner with indoor or outdoor seating. Oh and a playground!!! We stopped in October and it had a beautiful pumpkin patch perfect for photos. The food is amazing and their portions are enormous! If you find yourself on I-65, make this stop!!! read more

I've got to say, I've heard a lot of things about stopping at Peach Park whenever you're driving south on I-65, so when my sister and I last road tripped down to the beach, we made this pit stop. It's quintessential Alabama retail stop: the ice cream is good (not GREAT, but good), and the retail is very.....interstate Alabama retail. Think Cracker Barrel, but sparser. The garden area is nice to wander around, and there is plenty of outdoor seating at which to enjoy your treat of choice, but I'm not sure it garners a repeat visit from me. read more

This is a great pit stop right off the highway between Birmingham & Montgomery. It is always clean and it has lots of interesting retail items, homemade jellies, candies, and best of all fresh homemade ice cream. It is always delicious! Stopping at Peach Park is a tradition when coming back from the beach. They sell local fruit and vegetables, baked goods and has a gift area. They also have ice cream and a small restaurant. We had BBQ brisket sandwiches, Mac & cheese and a BBQ pork potato. All were equally delicious! The ice cream was also delicious! It's a fun place to look around. Keep driving!!!! This place suffers from poor management and neglect. The two employees we came in contact with were pleasant and doing their best to serve customers. HOWEVER, the Men's bathroom had the most disgusting, stale pee odor from years of neglect. We ordered onions rings at 3 pm and they were luke warm and grease soaked from sitting under a heat lamp. Nothing recent or fresh about them. Tables and floors were dirty. Napkin holders on tables were empty. We've been stopping at this place for a few years and I noticed last year the management is just letting the place run down. AND, NO PEACHES. "The freeze, you know." Hell, fly 'em in. Get Mexican peaches - but, don't be out of your number one line of product!!! They are driving what could be a terrific business straight into the ground due to mis-managment and neglect of the facility. Don't blame this on the pandemic or the lack of employees. I've eaten in the cafe a few times and it is your typical down home southern cooking with fried chicken with all of the fixings like mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, French fries, and so on. Just stopped by peach Park to pick up some fresh peaches on my way back to Birmingham Alabama and I was positively shocked at the lack of any attempt to mitigate the contagious virus swirling around our nation. There was no attempt at social distancing, employees were not wearing mask or gloves and of the 100 or so customers I saw in there maybe 5% were wearing a mask. When you see a sign that says "Pull over here for the best peaches" you have to give it a shot. So much to choose from: peach jam, moonshine jelly, all kinds of veggies and fruits and ciders. Pecan pie looked amazing. I grabbed 3 peaches and their smallest cone of peach ice cream...walked around the charming gardens and rocked a bit in one of their chairs. A great place to stop on the way back from Florida. First off, they have peaches. Lots of peaches. You're going to be covered if you need peaches. Peach butter? Yep. Peach preserves. You're good. Peach ice cream? Yes, in spades. Peach cobber? Cold or warm. Peach jerky? Probably. Second, they have ample bathrooms. Doesn't matter that they were cutting edge in 1952, I went there with my 3-year-old and neither of us contracted syphilis, so I count that a "win". I've lived in Alabama for quite a few years and oddly had never been to this place. I really had no idea what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes you can tell this place is old but that is part of it's charm. They have a small playground area with some really old swings, jungle gym (when was the last time you saw one of those), and a see-saw. They have also built a new barn play area with slides that are super fast. The main restaurant was currently under renovation so we had to get our peach ice cream and fried pie up at the Texaco which has a Peach Park Express in it. Fortunately this did not affect the taste. It all tasted exactly as you would want it to. All in all it was a fun family experience that was really inexpensive minus the gas it takes to drive there from Birmingham. read more

I had the pleasure of stopping at this little attraction in Clanton, AL at a friends' request as we were traveling to Birmingham this past week. She was rambling on about some peach cake like it was the eighth wonder of the world. She described it as if it were made in a peach heaven with even peach icing on it. When we made it there, I went inside and at first glance it looks like any regular farmers stand market with its ciders and homemade juices and fruits lined up. A couple of drink machines and a novelty shop in the far corner. It also has a cake shop in one section and a whole other baked goods shop on a separate side that features homemade ice cream and cookies, and hot cobbler that included strawberry, peach, and blackberry. I got a mixture of blackberry and peach which were both delicious but I could have used a little more crust which is my favorite. I got a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream on top with was so rich and delicious. They also have fresh made peach pies among other flavors that were selling like hot cakes. Anyway back to the peach cake my friend was looking for. They had ran out but told us that the gas station next door sold them. We went there and had to turn around and come back because they just sent the last one back over to the store. When we finally got to order a piece it was frozen due to the fresh ingredients used which was also the case with all there cakes including the piece of red velvet I ordered. I have never been a fan of pre frozen anything especially cakes and after I finally dug in it was the worst. Even though mines had been thawed in the store when I bought it, the taste was like the freezer. The peach cake turned out to have had a makeover since she last had it and gained white icing instead of the original peach icing which was a turnoff to my friend.
