Alright, I had a great start to Sunday with a very refreshing beet juice and a light, cool kale juice. Both get a 10/10. I modified the BLT by removing the bacon and adding grilled chicken; that's a 10/10 as well. Let me just say, with the goat cheese, it was taken to a whole new level, and as you can see with the eggs Benedict no bacon on that, the grilled chicken will definitely be coming back for another 10/10. This place was so good that we went twice and the second time we brought our family! The restaurant gives kind of modern farm kitchen vibes which nice. While here I tried the shrimp and grits, 3 meat omelet, and the chicken and waffle sliders. Hands down the shrimp and grits may be the best I've ever had. I appreciated that the sauce was not oily and they give a good amount of shrimp and conecuh sausage (this specific sausage is the key) for the amount of grits they give you. This may be the best shrimp and grits I've ever had so if you don't know what to order, you can't go wrong with this choice. The 3 meat omelet was bomb as well with plenty of meat inside the omelet with a choice of side. Lastly, the chicken and waffle sliders were also really good. The chicken is crispy and the hot honey sauce it comes with naturally motivates you to dip the chicken into the syrup (thank me later if this didn't cross your mind until now). I can't forget the sweet tea is very sweet and when you ask for a side of lemons, they actually cut a lemon up for you which I appreciate from a sanitary standpoint. In case you were also wondering, they offer military discounts and they will sing happy birthday if you ask (no free dessert but they do have some really good beignets to purchase). The beignets are really soft and go great with the ganauche. The only downside for this restaurant is the service is a bit slow. Both days it took quite a bit of time to be greeted by a server and sometimes they take a while to come by your table. This is a minor fix but if this can be rectified this is easily a 5 star brunch place that the city needed. I recommend this restaurant to anyone considering coming to it and I look forward to coming back to eat here (my mom still talks about the shrimp and grits lol). read more

This was our second time going and definitely not disappointed! We sat at the bar and got the drunken waffle and honey lattes to start along with tuna nachos. The coffee came out beautifully and so did our app! It was spicy and sweet without being too much. For the entrees, we got the eggs Benny sampler, asparagus, shakshuka, and breakfast hash. The shakshuka was spicy with perfectly cooked eggs. I agree with Matt that it could have used more bread, but still 10/10. Potatoes were good as was the asparagus, but the fried green tomato eggs Benedict was my absolute favorite. Server was quick and made sure every thing was right even with it being busy. The visit started off on a strange note when the lights in the restaurant suddenly turned off-not ideal when you're trying to enjoy a meal. It disrupted the atmosphere and made everything feel a bit chaotic. When our food arrived, it looked promising, but it was cooked way too hot-so much so that we couldn't enjoy it. A group of us tried to go to First Watch but that place stays packed, so we headed here and im so glad we did. Slightly tucked away in a strip mall, its got a bright and open atmosphere. We were seated immediately, and there was a healthy amount of other patrons in there. Our waittress was fantastic, had a great personality amd answered all of my group members many, many questions. I ordered the three meat omelette and a mimosa. Look at that picture, that thing was robust. The sweet potato hash was a good compliment, but the omelette stole the show. I ordered steak, eggs, and hash and the eggs were extra salty, the hash was actually cold, and I ordered steak medium and got medium well. It was super disappointing for $60. So it started when we walked in with our coffee cups and the first words from the host were "no outside drinks" we each only had a few sips left so not a big deal, and asked how long it would be for a table, she said 5-10 minutes...ok we will finish these before we get seated. A couple minutes go by and we notice parties are being seated immediately. We ask what's up, and the hostess told us she was waiting for us to finish our coffees...it was very odd. Walking to the table the floor was SO STICKY, like comically sticky. I literally almost walked out of my shoe because it stuck so hard to the floor. After sitting down, we waited about 10 minutes for our waitress came over. When she came to check in we ordered both food and drink at the same time. Drinks came after about 10 minutes. Coffee was weak, and served bringing cream or sugar. The green juice was good, and probably fresh. Food took another almost 30 minutes, eggs were supposed to be over easy, but were served HARD. Waitress never checked in after dropping the food. We flagged her down to get the check and headed out after spending $65 for 2 people to have a really bad breakfast. TLDR: there is a Waffle House in the same shopping center, go there, save $40 and have a better meal. read more

The owner syndrome in montgomery strikes again. I had to spend an hour on the phone, 3 calls to Bubbly, three to several different tiers of Doordash, just to find out why Bubbky was open, their Manager saw on Dash software that the restaurant was "on" in the App; yet, Dash said they were closed. Turns out the Owner is in control of the Dash Portal -- not the Manager on-site-- and he had to fix it. The manager did not have the authority to give me something for figuring out THEIR problem. Bottomline: this is Montgomery. If you're not eating at a table at the location, expect Doordash service to suck. I have post-COVID that grounds me at home, and this is the worst town to have that problem. The White owner class just cares about squeezing out every little penny and could give two shots about Service, Training, or keeping things like Dash App up to date. I've resolved to just bite the bullet and drive up to Atlanta every other weekend, despite the wear and tear of Long COVID. Trust me, its worth it. Customer service is better across the board. Normally I don't hand out 1-star reviews just because a place has bad service. But a combination of long waits, high prices, and reheated, reconstituted product from the Aldi freezer section will definitely get you there. At Bubbly Hen, it takes over half an hour to get a drink. The cocktail that comes out the other end is passable, though its price reflects more of a Manhattan clientele than an Alabama one. Same goes for the bacon and toast appetizer. It's okay, but just okay. The real issue comes with the entrees. After an hour's wait and God knows how much time sitting on line under a heat lamp waiting to be served, a plate of chilaquiles will have dissolved into soggy green mush. Taste-wise it's again simple, the egg is cooked properly, but is overpowered by the canned green chiles and clearly store-bought tortillas. But the worst offender is the kid's meal. This is $6 for three frozen mini waffles. You can tell they are from a package because of how rock-hard they are. A fresh waffle will be soft, whereas a pre-cooked waffle they popped in a toaster resembles hardtack (I guess we really haven't moved past the Civil War.) Compare all this to a Waffle House. The waffles are fresh, made right in front of you. The staff are friendly, it's dirt cheap, and you're in and out in 20 minutes, tops. And that's a place where the employees are all smoking meth. How can such a humble institution achieve that level of service whereas Bubbly Hen cannot? What does that tell you? So, yes, avoid Bubbly Hen and go get something smothered, covered, chunked, peppered, and capped. read more

I truly do not like giving one star reviews but what we received here this morning was unacceptable. They completely messed our order up and I received Romaine lettuce with the bubbly hen bowl that was supposed to come with kale! I'm sorry but I am not paying $15 for Romaine salad. I asked for no red onion on my salad, and it was on there anyway. And we also ordered the avocado and kale salad and they didn't even put avocado on it. It's honestly laughable, they messed up some other things that I ordered but I don't even feel like talking about them. Long story short, we won't be back and I'm not sure what the cooks have going on or why they think it's OK to completely mess up our order like this. He has to yell 3-4 times for someone to take notice - Food sits for another 15 minutes on the counter - Our waitress is also agitated (for an unknown reason) and snaps at the front hostess to go serve the food for her (at this point the restaurant is only half full) - Our waitress previously told us that the kitchen was out of grits when one of us tried to order shrimp and grits, but the table next to us (who sat down after us) successfully ordered shrimp and grits. My husband also wound up with a side of grits with his dish - Our waitress only ever visits our table twice: once to take our order, a second time to ask if we want one vs. a split check (this is as we're mid-eating and she's standing at a different table--decides to call over at us randomly) - Our waitress never comes around to give us the check, so we go to the front to pay - Our waitress, who's standing near the kitchen, waves us over to her instead of coming to us with the check. Proceeds to give us lip as we're at the counter paying - This is the first time in our entire lives that we decided not to leave tip - Never coming back to this place again. The crab cake I liked least but when the egg and crab were separated they were fine. From the bar I tried the pecan old fashioned good and sweet, I saved it for dessert!
