Very nice family-run inn. We stayed in the back row of rooms which is at the bottom of a steep driveway. Our room had a slider that opened onto a patio with chairs and a view of a wooded area. We had snacks there before heading out to dinner. They have a continental breakfast (no eggs, no protein), so we got some nice coffee and departed. The motel room was spacious - the bathroom clean but outdated.... All in all a good experience. read more

I would describe the service as a bit gruff but not unfriendly. Cleanliness: 2/5 Mold on the shower wall and curtain; *every* towel was stained; hair and bugs on the sheets. The only reason I'm not putting 1/5 is because I have unfortunately seen worse. Location: 4/5 On a strip with many motel/hotel options. We went with the cheapest available. I checked in today and I don't think the room was cleaned before I got there. The bathtub had black hairs on the wall and a wad of black hair stuck in the bathtub drain. The towels were wet, too. The sheets were dirty, like they were dragged in the ground and there were black hairs in the sheets under the blankets. I have blonde hair, so I know it's not mine. The t.v. doesn't work. It is just frozen. I am so grossed out! I ended up checking out a day early and I told the lady at the front desk about the room. She said sh3 threw up in her mouth hearing about it, but that was it. No, " OH, let me comp your room", or "How can I make it right?" Just a ," I tell my manager what you said about the room." Don't think I will ever go back and I certainly would never suggest this place to anyone. read more

Thank you YELP for another great find. I used the local guide to find recommended spots and crossed those with YELP reviews and this is the spot we landed. My wife and I came up for an overnight in SLO and stayed here, great lil spot. Not fancy but a nice quiet location and everything that we needed included. In room coffee not so great but lots of early morning coffee shops to handle that early need. Each room has parking in front, so you have that option to not unload everything and its right there as needed. We drove down to Solvang for breakfast so skipped the option at the Inn, but the layout was really nice in a large space that overlooks the rooms, outdoor patio and lots of breakfast options. (Good coffee up here) LOL Ironically in 2005 we renewed our vows for our 15th anniversary, we found a really neat place to stay at, to our surprise it was right next door to this Inn. Such a lovely little place to stay in SLO! This was our first time in town and we were really glad we found the Peach Tree. They helped accommodate our late check in even though it was after-hours, and left us everything we needed including keys, WiFi info, and details about the free continental breakfast. In the morning, we checked out and paid, grabbed some delicious coffee to go, and went out to explore town before heading to our next stop. Our room was very clean and well maintained. Only minor issue was the mattresses were not super comfortable, but not terrible. The shower was also a little small but that was no issue for us personally (and I believe you can request a handicap accessible one). Peach Tree Inn is a dog friendly pet hotel that provides a free breakfast, free parking, free WiFi and free snacks in the afternoon. It is also nice that there is a designated parking spot right in front of your room. My husband, our little girl dog and I stayed here for a week for a nice getaway in SLO. This hotel still uses actual keys for their hotel doors. We checked in on a Monday evening (around 8:30 pm) and the employee at the front desk was very friendly. She told us that they still have snacks in the dining area if we are interested (which was pretzels and oreos and also popcorn that you can pop in the microwave. However they seemed to have run out of popcorn the rest of the days we were here). We stayed in a one queen bed room that has a small mini fridge and TV in the room. There is no microwave though (just in the dining area where you can get free breakfast from 7- 10 am daily). The room was on the smaller side but the price for our room was ~$100 or so (prior to tax) a night, which was pretty affordable. Our queen bed was comfortable for the most part but we did find some ants on the dressers by the bed and also a few on the floor during our stay. In the shower, there was a soap dispenser but it was empty. But bar soap is provided by the sink and also a small bottle of shampoo and lotion (I really dislike using hotel products and often bring my own since I have sensitive skin and hate the way hotel shampoo always leaves my hair very dry). The shower was pretty small and would not recommend it for those that are claustrophobic. I was surprised to only find 2 long towels in the bathroom and had to ask for more at the front desk (I need 2 towels alone, as I need one to dry my hair and one for my body). The grounds of the hotel is very nice and I like the seating by the (covered) porch that is right outside the dining area. The breakfast is very simple, providing boiled eggs, oatmeal, various cold cereals and milk, yogurt, bread, bagel, juices, coffee and hot water. I thought it was kind of strange that coffee and hot water is not offered throughout the day, like other hotels though. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and would consider staying here again if visiting SLO. read more

Great value for the price. We arrived late on a Thursday evening, around 11pm and they made our check In really easy. Left us the keys (real keys, not cards) for us in a lockbox and we found the room no problem. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean, shower was a bit small and dated. Good ac working. I have stayed at Peach Tree Inn twice now while visiting my daughter whom is in college nearby. I love the friendly, family-feel to this Inn. I have always been greeted warmly and the rooms and common areas are clean. There is a light morning breakfast which consists of hard boiled eggs, various store bought pastries, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and various breads for toast. The assortment of spreads is impressive- butter, jam, peanut butter, almond butter, cinnamon sugar, etc... There was also non-dairy milk available for cereal which is rare but very welcomed. The sourdough bread is some of the best I've ever had and I love a good sourdough. In the afternoons they have microwave popcorn, pretzels, and Oreo's which is a fun snack especially for the kids. The property itself is relaxing. There is a porch area with seating to read the newspapers or relax. There is a little "island" area with a bunch of chairs to sit and socialize and then there is another small area with a chair swing and some picnic tables to also sit around and spend some time with new friends or family socializing. The rooms are pretty basic but CLEAN. I've stayed both in a room with two beds and the single queen and both have been spacious enough for two and very comfortable. There was a small table, a tv (with a printed out guide to the channels which is a welcomed bonus!), a mini fridge, and a small open closet area. The bathroom was roomy as well with a decent sized shower, a sink, and a toilet. Laminate wood floors and portable HVAC system as well. Peach Tree Inn isn't found on hotels.com or hotwire, but you can reserve your room online through their website. They do not have electronic keycards but big brass keys that were a fun retro feel and I actually liked that except for the irrational fear that I was going to lose one. Wifi was decent speed although it seemed to make you re-login twice a day which was slightly annoying but nothing that would cause me to complain. read more

She let us know that there were some college students staying at the inn and accommodated us by letting us decide if we wanted to stay in our assigned room or move to a different location. We had been driving all day and just wanted a quiet place to ring in the new year, so we opted for moving to a room away from everyone. We were also celebrating our anniversary and Lena brought us some champagne glasses since we told her we had a bottle of champagne with us. She even brought us a little "Happy anniversary" note. This was one of the worst places I've ever stayed. The rooms were dusty and dingy. Every time I walked in the room I had an allergy attack. Not to mention the partying that goes on here. Good luck getting a bit of sleep. The neighbors were up all night partying. Couldn't sleep. Told the front desk lady this morning who really couldn't have given a fox less, she literally almost made it worse how condescending her attitude was. Also you couldn't pay me enough to eat their "breakfast" hard boiled bowl of hotel eggs and oatmeal. I will not be returning. Do yourself a favor and stay in the one of the nicer hotels in the area. The place across the street has a pancake breakfast for nearly the same price. Not to mention much more privacy and professionalism. If you're spending the money, don't waste it here. Before my husband and I had the chance to check in to the Peach Tree Inn, I got a call from Leena at the Peach Tree Inn and she asked what time we were thinking on checking in and after letting her know the time, she informed me that she was going to move us to another room that we had originally been assigned because a couple motorcycle bikers had checked in next to us and she did not want us to get woken up suddenly by the noise of the motorcycle bikes as a precaution. We thought it was ABSOLUTELY sweet and thoughtful of her. Once we had checked in, Leena was just as kind and personable in person as she was on the phone. She went over breakfast times and even went over information about the farmer's market that is held on Thursdays. She even explained to us that there is a trolley that does a pick up right in front of the inn. How awesome is that!! The trolley fair was just 50 cents per person. If you do take the trolley and on your way back home, make sure to press the trolley bell line a little before your stop in front of the inn so that the driver knows to stop there or they will not stop and will continue on. The inn is comfortable and yes, it isn't updated, etc. like some big hotels but it is a nice neat place to stay and it is clean. We enjoyed having the mini fridge with a little slot for a freezer as well. The continental breakfast consisted of oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, toast, fresh fruit, cereal, etc. We would definitely stay here again and would totally love to see Leena again. It may be an older establishment but the service is unbeatable. We had to stay unexpectedly for a critical hospital situation for a family friend. The ones at the front desk helped us out and were even flexible in allowing us to stay an additional night that we needed, being able to remain in the same room. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. It's nextdoor to a great restaurant and down the street from one of the best pizza places I've been to. The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. I really like this hotel. The customer service is so great! I have stayed here twice on my way to LA and again heading back to SF. I do have to say that our last visit was a bit of a bummer. Please note this is mainly due to inconsiderate people. (SMOKERS PLEASE GO OUTSIDE-this isn't the 70s) I travel with my four year old so unpacking a car and into a room can be challenging solo. When we arrived we were given one of the big rooms in the back and it smelled like cigarettes so bad! It was awful. They quickly switched rooms for us, but I do remember reading in a review that one of the rooms in the back smelled of cigarettes so maybe it's time to pull out the carpets and curtains. This absolutely won't stop us from coming back, we love it here. The price, the service and did I mention during the holidays the gal in the front helped to hide our Elf so my daughter thought he was following us on our road trip?! Stayed here while visiting from San Francisco. I recommend it as it is a cute, cozy hotel that is more affordable than nearby options. The hotel room itself was very clean, which was a plus. The blanket on the bed wasn't the most comfortable I have tried, although perhaps the choice in blanket was also a hygienic choice. The blinds did not close 100% of the way and let in some light, I am super sensitive to light when I sleep, so I just used an eye mask to fall asleep and then there were no issues. The stay includes a nice continental breakfast-boiled eggs, fruit, toast, oatmeal, waffles and syrup. I like the option of almond butter, which went very well with my waffle. My girls and I went to SLO for the weekend. My Mom and sister suggested this place as they had stayed here many years ago. The place was perfect for us. I liked the fact that there was sign upon check in stating that all staff were vaccinated! The grounds were so cute and well kept. The room was very quiet and clean. The continental breakfast was good but I was a bit surprised that they had it due to Covid spikes. I only gave 4 stars as the ice machine was out of service. Peach Tree Inn is a throwback "motor hotel" probably built in the late 1950-60's. It is modest yet colorfully cute as a button, comfortable in a nostalgic sort of way, and convenient and desirable for its prime location. For those who might have a student attending UCSLO, it is about 1.5 miles from the campus. It is also a short distance from quaint eateries, coffee houses, and boutiques in the vibrant, old downtown area of San Luis Obispo. I love finding little places like this. They are quite reasonably priced in comparison to the other large chain motels that line Monterey St. Having been operated for 3 decades by the same family means stability and a lot of pride in the property and its maintenance. They thrive because of people like me who are just looking for a good bed to rest our heads, cleanliness, the convenience of parking just outside our front door, and the first impression attractive landscaping. The amenities included such things as a refrigerator in our room, a light breakfast available each morning, and what impressed us as a safe neighborhood surrounding. I loved our room, #105, with their efforts to preserve the original wood floors, the large area rugs, and the snug but newish, all tiled bathroom with walk in shower and hair dryer. There was a desk with chair and a coffee maker as well. The room has a gas wall heater and an air conditioning unit. We had no complaints about hearing our neighbors, the walls did not seem thin, and there was no problem with street noise even though our room was located in the building closest to Monterey St. We brought our small dog with us this trip, and Peach Tree has a small number of rooms set aside as pet friendly. In the late evenings, taking her for her obligatory walk was not a problem. To the back of the property is a grassy area. I felt safe. They are located immediately next door to a prime property, the very attractive Apple Farm, a high end inn and restaurant where your can spoil yourself in the kitschy gift shop and bakery as well. Definitely nice to have as neighbors. Definitely we would return. read more

Nice get away. Spent a few days in San Luis Obispo and Peach Tree was a pet friendly place. I made my reservation online and got there mid afternoon. Room was nice and clean, and they brought a microwave oven as I requested. Breakfast was OK with hard boiled eggs, coffee, pastries, and oatmeal. Great location because there are trails nearby, and SLO downtown was only 10 minute walk. There was a small room heater to warm you up, and the bed was really comfortable. Great location. My family and I needed to be in San Luis Obispo for a family emergency. We stayed at the Peachtree Inn. They were kind, they were sympathetic to our situation and they were so very accommodating. My family and I had planned on going on a Thursday but needed to change plans and go a day early. I called to ask if this was possible and the staff made it possible on top of that they gave me a huge discount as well. When we arrived they had us make sure all of us would be comfortable in the family suite, because if we weren't they were going to make changes for us. At the end of our stay we thought we might need to extend an extra day I called the front desk and talked to them and without hesitation they said don't worry about it we will take care of you. Not only were they kind and empathetic for me and my family, they were kind to other members of my extended family and friends who stayed there as well for the same reasons. As someone who works in the travel industry and customer service I was so impressed with the peach tree and their staff. I would stay here 1000 times over because of their kindness their empathy and their willingness to do the right thing for family that is going through something terrible. read more

We had several friends and family members staying at the Peach Tree due to a family medical emergency. Everyone on staff was extremely accommodating, helpful and kind. One friend drove through the night from Phoenix to be here. Peach Tree allowed her and her family to get into their room early so they could get some sleep. We all had to extend our stay at the last minute, no problem. My husband and I had been coming up from LA every weekend as this situation unfolded - we stayed at 2 other motels and would not recommend them. Yes, the property is old, like all the other motels around - but it is very clean, comfortable and so charming. They serve our favorite Central Coast coffee at breakfast, SLO Brewing Company, and that was a lovely surprise. The staff really went above and beyond for our family in a time of great stress, and we are forever grateful. read more

There are several areas to relax and sit in the sun, and most rooms have rocker benches in front of them. The rooms are comfortable with updated furnishings, clean, and the breakfast room is pleasant, with outdoor seating on their back deck, and morning newspaper. Room was cute country style , updated and very clean . Bed was comfy and pull out sofa had a comfy memory foam mattress that my kids said was surprisingly comfy. This place has a cute common area with seating and a tree swing my kids loved . At night when my 1 year was extremely fussy I went out there and rocked him to sleep and it was a beautiful night under he sky . Breakfast was good and easy with a verity of things .
