Very pretty place to stay. Lovely views. Super friendly and helpful staff. Within walking distance of several restaurants with different price points. The garden surrounding the hotel are well care for. A nice splash of colors for photos. Lots of good seating to enjoy the view. The downstairs rooms have a little patio with chairs. The upper room seem larger but no patios. The furnishings and bathroom set up are from the past decade, but the room was clean and welcoming. Don't forget to go to the wine and snack gathering from 4-6 pm. A nice way to start the evening. We stayed in room 6. If you are in the bottom floor you can hear a lot of footsteps from above. Overall an excellent place to stay for a night

We had a wonderful weekend at the Back Bay Inn! The bay view was stunning, and the location felt perfectly tucked away. The customer service was amazing, with everyone being incredibly friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to return!

Wow this might be my new favorite place ever. I didn't even feel like I was staying somewhere, it felt like home away from home. Everyone here is absolutely wonderful. So nice and helpful. Offer great recommendations if it's your first time visiting. Seriously this place made out weekend. You get a $7 voucher to use and the cafe each day of your stay. Trust me get a coffee from here. DELICIOUS. Breakfast and bakery items too. Right on the dock perfect place to spend the morning. Cutest garden area with tables and chairs to sit and relax and enjoy outside. So close to the bay. Rooms are so clean tons of room and the bed was very comfortable!! We can not wait to be back!! Thank you Back Bay Inn!!

We have stayed this cute and cozy bed and breakfast inn twice in 2024. Currently they give $7 vouchers person to buy breakfast in the coffee shop next to the inn. But the coffee itself is almost $7. The cheapest bagel is almost $7 with taxes. Wished they can increase couple dollars to their breakfast vouchers.

We were warmly greeted at check-in and provided vouchers for breakfast at the Back Bay Cafe for each morning of our stay. Our spacious room, one of 23, was situated on the second floor and included a king-size bed, fireplace, refrigerator and a semi private deck overlooking the beautifully tendered gardens that were often alive with monarch butterflies and hummingbirds. The large windows to the rear of our room provided an excellent view of the bay including numerous brown and white pelicans, a variety of shorebirds and an osprey surveying its hunting grounds from atop a tree. Included in the room rate is a nightly help-your-self wine reception that included a trio of wines plus olives and bread sticks. One evening while enjoying a glass of wine on the patio we met the owner, Bill, who was very cordial and explained how he had just purchased an additional 100 plants to enhance the already beautiful gardens throughout the property. Breakfast at the Bay Back Cafe was very good though the number of choices are somewhat limited. There is also a fine dining restaurant, Blue Heron, on the property that has a spacious patio where we dined twice during our four night stay. In summary, we were very happy with the service, room quality and amenities.

Super cute inn. Beautiful location and beautiful views! I am all about location and views and this did not disappoint. We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the bay. It was so Beautiful!! My hubby and I enjoyed most of our time sitting there drinking coffee or wine, enjoying the weather and the amazing view. Our room was large and our bed was comfy! I read some other reviews and I agree, the walls are a little thin but I didn't feel like this was a big problem. It is a small hotel, there really isn't a lot of noise anyway. We had a nice big bed and a little sitting area in our room. We sat on the balcony most of the time. The property is beautiful and has many little places to sit and relax...find a nice view and enjoy your stay! They have a wine reception from 430-6pm where we enjoyed some local wine. They give you breakfast vouchers to the Cafe right next to the hotel. They have a great selection for you to choose from. I had the breakfast croissant and it was delicious! You also get some discounts at the restaurant next door, but we didn't go there. Both women I interacted with at the front desk were friendly. I can't wait to come back to this wonderful little place!

So my friend told me about this place or else I would have never found it. Every room has a view, and it is an adorable property. The garden out back, with the fire pit, is so cute. We are only here for 2 nights but I wish we were here a week. Plus, we found a great restaurant nearby- Jimmy Bumps- and we are just in heaven. We are so grateful to be here!

I stayed here once with my family, but this time with some friends. Unbeatable price for what you get. If you're looking for low-key, relaxing and comfortable this is it. I had forgotten a usb port for my charger and asked if they had a spare. They did and let me borrow it! Rooms are all decorated differently, I stayed in Emerald Bay and it was cute and had an amazing view. Friends stayed in Avonlea and that room is so perfect for families or adults wanting their own space. It's a two king room but each bed has its own room and bathroom with a common area in the middle. No direct view of the bay from the room but it's right outside the door. Only note was that in my room I could hear the neighbors some, but put on some white noise and it was fine. I was supposed to receive a text or email with check in instructions and also a door code for the room. I received a call on the day of check in regarding this. I told the person on the phone that I had not received either and she assured me that I would receive one before the 3 pm check in. I did not receive the text. When we arrived to the property at the 3 pm check in, we tried to check in at the office but there was no one there. We found the manager cleaning a room. She informed us that she was the one that had called me. So apparently she runs the office and also serves as housekeeping. We went back and forth trying to reset the door code, and during this time, she was also was stressing about cleaning the vacated rooms on time. At the end of everything, she ended up offering us physical keys after all. Physical keys would have prevented the whole 30 min delay! Also, my ID was never checked, and I never had to sign anything regarding incidentals or policies which is usually the norm when you check in to a hotel. My word was just taken for my identity. Now to the room itself. It was perfectly clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo and small sink. No storage space so be aware of that. There was a fridge, coffee machine and coffee, creamer and sugar provided. There was a TV and fireplace. It was a really cute space. This Inn is also super close to the Embarcadero, restaurants, beaches, etc.

While we love supporting local places by going out to eat, it is also a perfect place to make your own dinner, put the umbrella up on the patio table, and enjoy dinner on your deck. It is also great for morning coffee and watching the boats go out for the day. They stock coffee and tea in the kitchen, but there is also a little coffee shop next door. I love going over, grabbing a Mexican Mocha and a bagel, and sitting outside in the morning. A couple of things worth noting are that Units A and B share a deck with only a partial separation, which opens up the view of the bay for both units. There is one regular parking spot and one handicapped spot, but three rooms, so someone has to park on the street. However, parking is free and unlimited, so that wasn't an issue for us. Things are quiet a good amount of the time, but it is on the Embarcadero, so it can also be noisy from the restaurants nearby at times. It is further down from the busiest part of the Embarcadero, so things aren't crazy down here. Everything is within easy walking distance. If you want to stay in, the couch is a futon, and my son says it isn't too uncomfortable to sleep on.
