For a 3-star hotel, this Hampton Inn Morro Bay easily earns 4 stars from me. First, the good stuff: this place is really clean, comfortable bed, good pillows and nicely updated. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast. read more

Property is three years old and still had a new smell to it. Right off the highway, so easy access Everything is bright and clean. Indoor pool! Kind of small though so it gets crowded fast. No jacuzzi though. One issue I found is that the door to the bathroom is a barn door style, but the stopper on the rail wasn't adjusted right so we pinched our fingers a few times. Also I found the digital keys did t work that well, they failed to find the locks a lot. Breakfast was standard for a Hampton, egg omelet with cheese, sausage, cereals, waffle makers, etc. read more

This hotel is all about location. Located within morro bay just off the highway. Only .6 miles to the rock. An even shorter distance to the beach. It is outside of the downtown area. As for the immediate area: it's not the best. Located next to RV parks, highway and motel6. The hotel itself is ok. It's a Hampton inn. The hotel is nothing fancy but it is clean. For me, the bed was too soft as well as the pillows. The softness of the bed and pillows caused me back issues. The hotel does not provide views: too bad as has the potential to see the rock. My suggestion for guest is to get the top floor so you don't hear guest above you. The room does have a fridge and microwave. Perfect for warming up food. Plus there is a convenient store where you can purchase wine, beer and basic food items. Parking is free. The hotel also offers a gym and pool. read more

Walking distance to the beach bumps this inn up to Five Stars for me! You'll get a great view of Morro Rock from the beach near this hotel and lots of beachcombing too. It's your typical Hampton Inn, with very comfortable bed linens and lots of hot water in the shower. Staff was professional. The hot breakfast is included and parking is free. Free Wi-Fi but it's not secure; I opted to use my phone's hotspot instead. Overall, recommended with the caveat that prices have been sneaking up recently. Well-maintained property. read more

Had a stay last year with this Hampton Inn and would go back if in the area. Check in was easy and the bed was so comfortable my wife wanted to buy the mattress for our house online since we were looking for one. We got consistently good sleep here. Breakfast had decent food including kielbasa one day. Access to CA-1 is easy and it's not far to drive to shopping, Morro Rock and Morro Bay. Plenty of parking, keep in mind the high school next door when you exit the hotel. read more

This newly built hotel was a welcome stay when we attended a funeral in the area. The rooms were nicely decorated, very comfortable and there was ample parking. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly during every interaction from check-in, to questions about the area and when we needed help as our digital key wouldn't work. The small coffee and snack station was always well stocked in the lobby and the variety of food options for the free breakfast suited all our parties needs. We weren't there long enough to take advantage of any pool or gym amenities but they both looked well taken care of and super clean. If you need a nice place to stay without breaking the bank, I would highly recommend this particular Hampton Inn! read more

I arrived here for check-in and this was the only Hilton property out of three that thanked me for my membership. I reserved two rooms here. On the way to the rooms I passed the indoor pool and fitness center and they both close at 9 pm. The room was standard, was nice and A/C was already cool when I walked in the room. It had a small refrigerator and a work desk. In the AM we had the free breakfast served before checkout. It was a modest breakfast but to be fair I had similar quality that I had to pay for at Hilton Garden Inn. I was pleased with the dark roast coffee here. I asked to check my luggage as I was going to continue to be be in the area for the afternoon after check-out. They were happy to do it and came back later for luggage pick-up. The service here was also better than the two other Hilton properties that I stayed at on my trip. Four stars! read more

The Hampton gave us another wonderful stay recently. We book with both points and cash. Check in was nice and smooth. We were given a nice room with a partial view of the rock. The room was great. Breakfast was the same as my previous visit with premade omelettes, waffles, smoked sausages, potatos, oatmeal, bread and fruit. I liked the smoked sausage as it was different from other hotels I was staying at. Tara in the morning was nice. She claimed to remember me from my previous visit. We again had a great conversation. Nicely located off the freeway across from Morro Suites and Motel 6 you will see the nice new Hampton. Being new, the smell of fresh paint was everywhere. The lobby was clean and spacious. Ample seating with booths, reading books, and tables. There was a coffee and tea station set up in the lobby. We were greeted by a nice woman with grey hair and the kindest eyes. She informed us that unfortunately even as Diamond members , due to staffing we weren't able to check in as we were an hour before check in time. We said that's fine we will go sight seeing and come back. We came back a few hours later apparently there had been a shift change. Shift change in people and energy. A stern younger woman, not as kind asked may I help you. Although my husband made the reservation, used his card, and included our combined Hilton honors number she insisted I show my ID! Mind you my husband is on the honors account. Most times I don't travel with him but being a flight attendant if I can meet up with him I will. She said if I had not been there he wouldn't have been able to check in. I told her this was unacceptable as I'm not always with him and we have been doing this for years. She just makes the whole experience sour. The room was nice. For some reason she gave us a hearing impaired room. There was a noise coming from the vent as it went off like a pice of metal was hitting something. The bathroom had no shower floor mats/towel so water was everywhere. The gym is a nice space. 3 treadmills, 1 elliptical rack weights and an adjustable resistance machine. No bike, no water cooler however there's a fountain just outside down the hall, no scale or mats. Still a decent gym. The pool area was basic indoor pool however my card didn't allow access maybe because it needed cleaning idk just saw towels on chair from the day before when I looked in. This location is about 15-20 minutes car drive from morrow bay. Grab all your snacks on the way nothing really walking distance. The location is quiet unless you get a room with kids whose parents let them scream and run around (unfortunately that happened to us) The bed was comfortable pillows a bit soft you need to stack them. My highlight was that it was new and clean. Linens still crisp. read more

We arrived late night on a Wednesday evening after a grueling 6 hour drive from SoCal through the typical LA traffic. We were greeted by "Jess"who was the most exceptional Front desk clerk I've ever met for a Hilton Hampton Suites. We've been to many Hampton Suites but this experience was the best because she made our stay feel like we're at the Ritz Carlton by offering breakfast bags to our room early the next morning since we won't be able to make free breakfast hours the next day. Also she was very helpful on using the business printer onsite since we had to use it for our kid's college move-in day at CalPoly SLO. Needless to say, the hotel and staff was top notch for our stay in Central Coast. read more

The hotel is in great shape, charging stations outside, very clean inside and out. Seating areas in lobby everywhere, the room was impeccable. It smelled clean inside and blankets and towels fresh. Beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, nice tv and a snack area downstairs. The only reason I have 4 stars was because the snacks needed to be re-stocked, they were pretty low on many of the items. We haven't even arrived yet and have been treated well. My first reservation was secretly rerouted to an off-shore booking agent and I accidently booked. I never received confirmation (junk file) so I called the hotel and booked directly. Today (arrival day), I have two pre-paid reservations. The off-shore company, Priceline Partners Solution, was no help and wanted to tag a cancellation fee to the pre-paid room!!! I called the hotel and was assisted by "Caleb" who was helpful, informed and articulate. He managed to cancel the hotel reservation, leaving the phoney company's one intact. I was stuck to pay the off-shore, but didn't have to pay twice! Kudos to Caleb and to Hilton for hiring good staff. read more

This place is essentially brand new, as it has only been open for a few months. Everything is very clean and immaculate, and I found the staff to be very courteous and friendly. Breakfast is included and it was pretty good. There is ample free parking, and one thing I also noticed is that have numerous charging stations in their parking lot for electric vehicles. read more

We were only here for one night - to attend the half Ironman race. There were a few hiccups with my reservation, which was really stressful since I had booked the trip 6 months in advance, but Jess at the front desk went above and beyond to resolve everything so we could concentrate on the race. She and the two other staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The hotel even set up to go snacks and waters for us since we would miss breakfast. This was really appreciated! The rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable, but definitely expect to hear your neighbors. I traveled with a white noise machine and that helped. Luckily the guests in my area were pretty quiet so it was fine. Also -the shower was fantastic, and a highlight of my short stay! I didn't use the other amenities but they have a small pool, gym, e-charging, and the breakfast looked nice. Proximity to the big rock is nice, and given the chaos of the race weekend, I was glad we were just a little out of the way from the main hub. It was easy to get to everything I needed for my stay by walking, but a short drive if you didn't want to do that. If I'm lucky enough to be back in Morro Bay, I'd definitely consider this hotel, but would confirm in advance no issues with my reservation. read more

Really clean and modern hotel lobby and rooms. The showers come with soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers mounted on the wall and soap and lotion dispensers by the sink. Check-in was a breeze! Beds were very comfortable and we slept restfully. Came downstairs for the complimentary breakfast and coffee in the lobby area. There were some issues with running water on the morning that we checked out, however we were able to shower and get going before any of these issues started. It was clean, but we could hear the guy next door snoring all night ( loudly), teens and kids loud in the halls until after midnight, and even though we were on the second floor it sounded like a dance contest was going on upstairs. The breakfast was so disgusting my boyfriend who eats anything refused to eat any of the food. The dark haired front desk lady who signed us in was fabulous! Sadly, the one checking out was beyond rude , told us ' can't you see I am busy on the computer, I will deal with you when I get to you. It was clean, beds were ok. We had a great night stay last week (mid-April). Our room was a corner room (238) on the second floor with a great view of Morro Rock. Everything was clean and breakfast was exactly what you'd expect, including a do-it-yourself Belgian waffle maker. The only negative is that the water pressure in the shower was poor, but I blame that on them having to install water saving fixtures everywhere. read more

I didnt like that there isnt an entrance along the side of the building- have to go all the way through the front but thats not something they can fix at this point. They couldnt use my card for deposit from thier own website- they called me for one while driving over- never had that at another hotel. Probably wont book again but it was ok. read more

This hotel has been open just 15 days, but we had a great stay. The GM kept checking on us and was helpful locating places to eat or get supplies. The night receptionist "Tamara" was the best! We wanted to watch TV and eat pizza in the lobby with other friends staying at the same hotel. She helped us with the TV, ensured our pizza delivery was right, and was there for any other requests we had to make the evening fun and relaxing. Breakfast each morning was really good with flavored waffles and hot buffet. They had Coffee whenever I wanted and a side store to buy extra food items. Lastly, they have tons of car chargers. You can drive there in any electric car and get charged right on the premises. That makes life very easy for a multi day or city trip. We had a good trip to Morrow Bay with the new hotel a big part of our stay. We WILL stay here again. Thanks! read more

Forty five years ago we got married and spent our honeymoon in Morro Bay. We (a couple and a child) thought it would be fun to spend a night there to rekindle our memories. After doing on-line searches, we found this Hampton Inn, that was relatively new. Hence, we thought this would be great; a newer and modern hotel. We arrived late, and managed to check in at 7pm. Check out time would be in the morning at 11:00am. (a 15 hour stay) If service was great, it would be no biggie. However, on the contrary, we literally had a bad experience; started right after we checked in. The atmosphere of the room was somewhat sterile, a rectangular box. Nothing special. It only had one chair and a small table to eat on. We had better stays at a Motel 6. Things began to become sour when the shower had very low water pressure, and it was extremely difficult to adjust the temperature. Furthermore, the heater and exhaust fan was not working; steaming up the mirror and the entire bathroom. And because the exhaust didn't work, it generated a humid stench. As a result of this poor condition, my wife refused to use the shower and put her in a bad mood. A serious issue arose when we encountered a dangerous condition in the room that nearly injured my wife. The sliding bathroom door had no lock. The poor design of this door served a dual purpose. It functions as the door for the bathroom, and as a shared door to cover up the closet outside the bathroom when this door is slid open. When I exited the bathroom by sliding the door open, I nearly slammed it into my wife, who was organizing things in the closet. Needless to say, she was totally startled and literally yell out at me with some unpleasant words. This poorly designed door created a situation for an injury waiting to happen. Ugg. Though my wife was terribly shaken, it was fortunate that she was not physically injured. This was a terribly bad ordeal for the both of us! Who in the world would design a door like this that presents such a safety hazard? Another thing is to endure the noises coming from the hallway while we were trying to sleep. This issue further added to the already bad experience. Hence, this poor experience totally ruined our plans of having a pleasant stay. Plus having to pay for such an experience was shameful for the Hampton Inn to even charge us. We called the front desk to complain, only to be informed that the manager was not in. However, we were given his email for us to contact him by email? We did just that and enumerated all of the issues we had. We were expecting a prompt reply. Sadly, no one ever replied back to us. Because of the noise and sleepless night, we got up early, and thought about bringing breakfast to my wife from the breakfast room. I used pre-made batter (provided), and poured it in the waffle maker that had a fixed built-in timer. When the timer went off, I took the waffle out. The batter was still wet, the waffle was half raw and runny. Yuk. I reported it to the front desk and the lady said she will check it out and get to it right away. She never did. Well, so much for the breakfast before check out. When check-out time care around, we complained and cordially told the front end attendant about our horrific experience. She gave us the excuse that the manager was not in, and will be back in a few days. Huh? She said she was powerless to help us adjust our rate due to our dissatisfaction. Huh? We also told her about our email to the manager last night , with no reply. She said she had no control, and that we can write to the corporate office to file a complaint. This operation was the worst we have ever experienced. Plus, it ruined our special stay and visit to Morro Bay and now gave us some bad memories. Shame on Hampton Inn - Morro Bay. It is a nice, new, clean hotel, and we did appreciate that. However, the walls are paper thin, and we had an ice machine right out our front door which we heard numerous times during the night. Also, almost slipped and fell twice because the ice maker was leaking. Beds were comfortable but did not get much sleep due to the noise. read more

We spent 2 nights and 3 days here at this beautiful new hotel. I must say that they have a great staff and the GM, Marjo was very welcoming and professional! As Hilton Diamond members, we've stayed at many hotels and we must say that the staff here are awesome! The location is right off the freeway. We enjoyed the walking path right next to the hotel.
