Run over before the last day on August 4th. The location is an off shoot of Meijer with a focus on local and fresh. You can use your of Meijer reward number at checkout. By the way, this location is self checkout complete with a longer conveyor platform for larger purchases. This market is very clean and well stocked. It's a great vibe here. It is an indoor food market in the Eastern Market District at the corner of Gratiot and Russell St. There are 8 different vendors that sell everything from beef, pork, fish, and poultry, to baked goods, cheese and health products. Red Truck Fresh Produce is the first full-time produce store in Gratiot Central Market . Order a couple house made Soups by Krista a true master of Oxtail Soup OMG delicious addiction. Had a sandwich on grilled Onion roll Corned Beef, Pastrami n Slaw with Russian dressing a true winner. Great prices on prepared foods and cold drinks. He picks up fresh produce at Eastern Market in Detroit and then has set appointments with regular clients to bring it directly to their homes. When we don't have time to (or don't want to) go to the store, we can get fresh produce as well as farm-fresh eggs and more brought right to our front door. He has a good variety of fruits and vegetables on the truck but if you want something a little out of the ordinary, let him know the day before and he will try to find it at Eastern Market for you. He always has good quality items for sale and stands behind them on the odd chance something wasn't what we expected. Joe operates in different areas on different days and we have a general day and time for him to stop at our house. Sometimes we text him our minimum list the day before and then, when he gets here, we also can go on his truck and see what else we want. If we need to skip a week, we just text him in advance. Joe is great at telling us when things are ready to eat or whether they need to sit for a couple of days. The Green Grocer's prices are reasonable considering you never had to leave your house (unless you go onto his truck, of course). I still watch for sales and hit the stores but have cut down on the number of trips and my time spent running around.
