Listen, I love a bougie, well-appointed market, and Woodward Corner Market is everything I love. The spirits and wines section is phenomenal. I stopped by to grab a bottle of something fun to share with friends at a gathering, and was overwhelmed with choices. The market carries brands of spirits and wines that I've never seen in Michigan. My suggestion is to staff the counter better. A walk-through of all things stocked would be phenomenal. read more

Awesome place! It is the Meijer version of Plum Market in my opinion! You can use all your mPerks at this store! It is smaller and definitely more gourmet selections of food and fun finds! I was very impressed from the florist, to the skin care items and then back to the bakery. A lot of local brands which was nice to see! I will definitely come back and browse some more! read more

We go to this grocery store all the time. I'll start with saying I do think the prices are a little higher than a normal Meijer, BUT if you go there often I'd recommend you get a Berk Perk card- gives you discounts at a lot of local places including typically 10-15 dollars off of your $100 purchase at Woodward Corner Market. I love the selection of local and Michigan products. Usually we have good success with getting fresh fruits and vegetables. Staff is friendly and helpful, the store usually seems clean and is pretty organized. I think the biggest drawback is having no fresh meat/deli counter. They do have a variety of prepackaged meats though. read more

Woodward Corner Market is a nice gem in Royal Oak. They have a ton of Michigan specialties and favorites. I was shocked to see the sell juice from Drought but I think the brand is really starting to get out there. Everything seems very neat and very meticulously organized. They encourage you to use their self checkout but it's actually not bad at all since there's an employee there who can assist and you will most likely need help because I was confused on where to get bags from. Whenever I've gone they appear to be pretty helpful overall. Would definitely stop in again. read more

Recently discovered this as an alternative to other markets in the area. Open late, great selection of international food and beverages, including beer and wine. I did notice some of the store brands suffer from shrinkflation, though. The ready-to-eat section has good options, and parking is easy too. read more

They are ALWAYS out of Godshall's Maple Turkey Bacon!!! That's the main reason I choose to drive. They used to keep it in stock. Perhaps need to add to the inventory or set a purchasing limit per customer. I'd say to just increase your inventory of Godshall's Maple Turkey Bacon. Also had an unfriendly man dressed like a teenaged girl working the liquor area, which made me quite uncomfortable. Geez. read more

This is a nice fancy Meijer. It's smaller so you can get in and out in a more timely manner than a traditionally built Meijer. I asked one of the employees and he said they don't have sales like the regular stores so you'll pay full price for everything. I do like how they carry items from local small businesses. I was able to pick up some food items from a middle eastern business and try some new cookies from a local bakery. They have a vegetarian and vegan section with a sizable amount of items to choose from. They also have a cafe area but it was closed when I arrived so I don't have much to say about that. I saw one person there working on their laptop and a few other people just relaxing.. All check out counters are built for self check out. They did have some store employees around to assist in case you need help. Overall my experience there was good! read more

This store is very impressive! Best Meijer I've been in (I think it's fully a Meijer because they carry Meijer products in here). Everything is very well organized and tidy. Not to mention, that everything is easy to find and similar items or items that go together are near each other. One thing to note is that this place doesn't carry any clothing it seems or unique non-grocery items. They do have cleaning supplies though. Also, it didn't appear that anything was on sale (yellow sticker) not sure if it's because the store is new or not. This makes items a little more expensive, but the convenience and atmosphere is awesome and definitely worth it! read more

What an impressive layout and beautifully displayed and organized. Today's their first opening, they are giving out free samples of stuff. Their wine and liquor section is totally what a liquor shop should aspire too. So easy to find your favorite wines and grapes and so approachable too. Could come here and study up on all of the wine varieties available. I can't wait to make this my go to shopping spot. I like how everything is well organized, clean, so hoping it always stays that way. This is such a cool and awesome, sharp looking market, what a step up for Meijer. Yeah to Meijer thrifty acres for stepping it up a notch. It is amusing to the nicer $10 plastic bags are facing out to the store and the cheaper $0.10 bags are facing the bathrooms, is there a hidden meaning there? They carry La Croix cases here but no key lime flavor, why? Even the regular Meijer in MH carries the key lime flavor. Please do order some here. Keep note about this store. They do not give you bags for free, they charge $0.01 a bag for your groceries if needed. So be sure to bring your own bag or pay for them at checkout. read more

We had been in the concept store in Grand Rapids last year. Located in a large parking lot with lots of detached buildings with gyms, bars, burgers joints... This is Meijer's attempt at a Whole Foods without as much prepared foods. Wall of fancy liquor, expanded and dressed up beer aisle, produce section near the front, much more narrow aisles. Very modern looking inside. Much smaller than a normal store, grocery only, and smaller selections. They make you pay ten cents per plastic bag. Self checkouts. In addition to normal carts, they have smaller ones that are shorter both in length and height, and the basket is also shorter--they are sized for 5 foot tall people. The staff was nice, but this is a new store so time will tell. read more

Nice concept and appreciate the "small market" environment they tried to achieve. They no longer provide any bags at checkout, despite there being places for bags from where they were before. They had maggots in their produce. Had to put back 4 different dozens of eggs because of them being broken. I did not have this experience my first time coming here but after today, I will probably not be back. read more

I always enjoy checking out new stores; there's something exciting about it for me. (Yeah, my life tends towards the mundane. Lol.) First, this is a lovely looking store. Bright, shiny and nicely laid out. But, the thing that struck me was that, except for the small produce section, nearly everything is packaged. Maybe it was the mood I was in, but it just jumped out at me how very little of the food we buy now is fresh. One of the things I used to like about Meijer stores in the past was that you could pick out all of your own produce (including berries), but that option has largely been gone for some time. This store does not have a fresh deli, seafood or meat department. Everything is prepackaged, although nicely displayed. I also found it to be expensive -- on par with other specialty stores, rather than with Meijer or other regular grocery stores. But maybe I'm spoiled by the Aldi prices I've grown used to. They do have small sections of pet food, health & beauty aids and cleaning products, but not much of a selection of any of those things. But, they did have the refrigerated rolls of cat food that are very hard to find & which my cats love, so a point for them there. As others mentioned, you have to bring your own bags or buy theirs. And it REALLY bothers me that they only have self-check out. I'm sorry, but I don't work there, and I don't like to support places that purposely don't have jobs for people. I pretty much stopped shopping at Meijer when they stopped employing baggers, making the cashiers do double duty, and making customers take their eyes off the register as they loaded their own carts. If you're looking for a cool-looking place that's not too big, this is could be for you. But if you're looking to do a large shopping, this is probably not the right place. read more

Not really sure how to rate this place because I mostly just browsed today, but I'll give it a go. This is probably the fanciest Meijer I've ever been in. A friend pointed out that it's ONLY food and beverages, which is nice if you've ever navigated the behemoth that is a normal Meijer (clothing, health/beauty sections, food sections, etc.) ... and/or if you want to have a faster grocery store experience. Some interesting things to note: 1. Like others have mentioned, they want to compete against like Whole Foods, it seems. They had a ton of local foods, which were great - I saw challah from Oak Park, individual cookies you could buy (neat idea! you can mix & match too) from another local bakery, etc. 2. They have a HUGE wine and beer section. 3. They do NOT have any cashiers except one or two people to help you with self check-out. I am GUESSING that if you are buying alcohol, you have to buy it in the wine section, as they had cashiers there, but I'm not 100% sure on that. 4. They also do not have any plastic bags - they have reusable bags for 10c each. I was only buying one item so I just put the item in my cart and didn't buy a bag. 5. Prices overall seem higher than a regular Meijer but there are some things that are slightly cheaper. For example, they had Silk almond milk for $2.89, and my local Meijer sells it for $2.99. 6. They do NOT take mPerks currently but I've heard that they are going to take them soon. I would assume they take regular coupons but am not sure on that. Overall I would come back here when in the area, as it was super nice, but I tend to price match to other stores, so I'd continue to do that here too. read more

Nice produce section, has a good assortment of other foods. But the lack of a deli counter is a bummer. Also, the fact that the bags are 10 cents each makes me not want to come back for my regular grocery shopping needs. The Woodward Corner Market is a welcome addition to the Royal Oak, Birmingham, Berkley and other surrounding areas. It is Meijer's neighborhood store concept with the first store located in Grand Rapids. Westborn Market, Papa Joe's, Trader Joe's, Holiday Market and nearby chain grocery stores will compete with this new neighbor. Beaumont hospital was smart to purpose this mixed use center to include WCM. The market has 25 foot high ceilings and an open airy concept. The wood product displays are located through out the store. The store sells local products that are fresh, affordable and sustainable to the environment. With the new condo developments and retail space built in the local areas, this store will add to the infrastructure needed to support this growth in a healthy sustainable way. I first time at the Woodward Corner Market is a treasure. It's exactly what it is called a Corner Market in a neighborhood community. When you walk in you are greeted by fresh coffee brewing and fresh fruits, desserts vegetables and friendly staff. The store is set up what your need and desire are. If you are a vegan they have a section for you or if you gluten free they have something for you too. They are affiliated with Meijer but a scaled down version of perfection and quality. This is an adorable market that seems to want to compete against a Plum Market or Whole Foods. It has a nice location, this area seems to need more accessible grocery stores to grab and go, or do a complete shopping trip. I love their Great Lakes coffee cafe. The menu looks absolutely appetizing. They have sweet treats plus breakfast/ lunch items, and is a very nice space to enjoy a casual coffee. The store is a nice size, not too overwhelmingly big. They have a nice selection of produce, gifts, flowers and gourmet cookies at the entry. I love the beer and wine selection, very diverse with ample MI craft brews. They offer the best of the typical grocery store products, plus deluxe hard to find items like the chocolate salami I saw on the Food Network. We came here on a Saturday night after a meal with the family, it was a fun place to do the weekly shopping. read more

I'm very impressed with this new concept by Meijer they have been around ad long add I can remember and it's nice to see this adaptation to their one stop shop. The layout of the store is easy to navigate and of course fully stock due to grand opening. They had so much staff everywhere to the point of overkill which is my only gripe they were not moving about well and adding to congestion of a crowded store. I'm sure it was to make sure customers had a great shopping experience. Now on to the good part I LOVE the fact that this store is dedicated to Michigan small business vendors. I love it! Great specialty selections with the Avalon Biscuit Bar inside. Wonderful treats!! Yes, it's slightly overpriced on some items. But you pay for convenience. This is a perfect spot to grab those last two ingredients for a recipe, bottle of wine or flowers for a gathering. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. The conveniences and quality of a Meijer without the huge overwhelming space that takes you 10 minutes to walk through. They have a lot of Michigan made foods: deli offerings, baked goods, candy. It's nice to see. Their produce has always been good. The carts are a bit small but I get that this place is probably not meant for a huge shopping trip. They have some unique freezer offerings, and a generous wine station with several aisle of just wine. The aisles are rather narrow, which seems to be the norm now. The bottle return is completely separate from the shopping area which is nice. You don't have to schlepp bags full of bottles all the way to the back of the store like in the full Meijer on Coolidge. One downfall is they don't have a deli counter. Seems like that would be a no brained so not sure if that's in the works. Everything is self checkout, so keep that in mind. read more

I really love this place. I was able to get a loaf of bread from Crispelli's along with a great latte from Great Lakes Coffee Roasting when I ran into grab a few things. I love that they support small local businesses like this. The prepared food section has food from local restaurants too. The design also makes it easy to grab what you need and get out, which isnt the case at the larger traditional Meijer stores. read more

Checked out the new-ish Meijer store. It's got what you'd need. It's nice to have a grocery near a hospital (wish I remembered that when visiting a loved one in the hospital and living on vending food). Seemed a little uppity for a Meijer store, with some prices higher and it doesn't have the regular-store-Meijer sale. I was able to enter my MPerks number (and get credit for my purchase), however, I was unable to use my $5 MPerks credit. Overall, nice to have a store near a hospital, but I wouldn't do my everyday shopping there. read more

I had received a call from a friend that said the liquor counter received an order of Blanton's. He said he spoke with the guy behind the counter and said they got in a few. My wife got there 20 minutes after this conversation and they said they didn't have any. I sure hope it's not because she is an Asian Woman. This supermarket is so beautiful that even walking around without buying anything feels therapeutic. I don't like shopping except for groceries and this is just the perfect place for me to unwind. The shelves are very neat and organized. Therefore, it's quite easy to find things. The place is clean. The produce looks fresh. They have quite a great variety of things and a lot of them are locally produced! Yet at the same time, the price is not too bad. Might not be the cheapest, but I think it's still less than Whole Foods. I do mostly self-checkout here, but even when I need help I feel like the staff are pretty helpful. They charge for plastic bags, so I recommend you bring your own bag, which is nice for the planet. read more

Such a welcome addition to the area! Specialty grocery store atmosphere and selection but with much more reasonable prices. Really love the wide selection of Michigan products. Much smaller than a regular Meijer store and only has groceries for the most part, but has a limited selection of things like cleaning products, toiletries, etc. The aisles in the rear section are quite narrow and have a lot of product crammed on the shelves which makes shopping during busier times quite difficult. Checkout is overwhelmingly self-checkout. Not an issue for me but some may not like this. However, during my visit there were multiple other customers waiting for assistance at the self-checkout with no employees in sight. I have enjoyed my two visits thus far and plan on making this place one of my regular stops! read more

The small market feel is nice and I liked that there was a lot of organic options. The layout, however, is convoluted and prices are fairly high. So with higher prices, they reward you with not hiring employees to check you out. Instead they have you do the labor, without the paycheck, and then make you pay for bags that you fill yourself. At least at Aldi and Costco, which also don't provide bags, there are lower prices and clerks to help you. I don't see much of an upside for shopping here. read more

I was looking forward to this store, but was very disappointed. The decor is lovely and modern, but that's the nicest thing I can say. Someone would be able to purchase their weekly groceries there, and the store carries Meijer brand products, but it looks to be priced higher than a Meijer. It also seems like nothing is on sale. The biggest disappointment is the lack of prepared food. There was a case with sandwiches, but it reminded me more like gas station stuff. I'm not sure. There was a very limited bakery selection and you couldn't get as much as a rotisserie chicken for a quick dinner. They also seemed to have a lot of alcohol options, but none of the party trays or things you'd pick up go with it. I couldn't get everything on my list and had to stop at Kroger on my way home. Maybe I'll try again in a couple of months and see if it's different. read more

My experience at Woodward Corner Market was awesome! You walk in straight to the flower department which is filled with beautiful flowers. I would describe the store as a mix between Trader Joe's and Whole Foods at the price point of Meijer! Win! I am not vegan, but they had a whole fridge filled with what looks to be yummy items. I am going to try the BBQ jackfruit next time I'm in. They also carry SO many Michigan made products! It was awesome to see them in almost every single aisle. And the customer service at the self service check out was phenomenal. Shout out to the cashier assistant at the self-serve checkout station today at 11am! This is a LOVELY market. I stopped in here on a whim after accompanying my sister to an appointment at nearby Beaumont. I needed a couple things, but really enjoyed my walk around the store. Firstly, it's SPACIOUS - so there's no cart-wrangling around people or crowding (which is especially nice during pandemic). They have a great selection of gourmet items that are reasonably priced PLUS the regular stuff. You don't feel like you're getting gouged on the regular stuff either. read more

I was just here the other day. First time. I will give them 1 star because they have moderately decent food at decent prices. It's false advertising to call this a market. The name shouldn't be "Woodward Corners Market". I honestly thought this was a fruit and meat market like Westborn, Hollywood, Holiday. You know? "Market" is in the name. They don't have a bakery or a butcher. So other than produce, absolutely NOTHING is fresh. People need to know that before they take their time to go there. Waste of my time. It's also much smaller.
