I have two that have dyslexia that came in remediated, but they do have a remediation program. There is academic support. Those teachers are amazing and push into the classroom in elementary school. the teachers are supportive, communicative, and available accessible and connected with our kids. My kids are involved in sports music, dance, arts , theater. There are a lot of opportunities to be outward facing service projects, mission trips. While I appreciate that, my kids are taught the Bible and a relationship with Jesus and the teachers reflect that my kids also have a diverse group of friends that come from different religious backgrounds, economic, backgrounds, and political backgrounds, which aren't emphasized, but there is a variety of demographic. My son instance has friends that are Hindi, Punjabi, agnostic. My kids are taught not just about Christian world views, but different religious world views, different scientific views like evolution in biology (which someone for some reason said they aren't taught) and they're taught from a scientific standpoint not trying to dispute the scientific theory. As rhe get older, they have opportunities to question, debate, express their opinions in different classes and that's encouraged because they don't want the kids to be programmed robots. As I stated earlier, their families of different economic backgrounds, but that is not something that is known or something that at least for my kids they don't care if they have a lot of money or don't have a lot of money. It's just not important in the grand scheme of things. They have a diverse group of friends and I find that a lot of my friends kids find their niche. They find their people because there's so much variety and diversity. Well, they do a annual fun fundraiser. You could donate a dollar and still participate with zero judgment or not at all. There is a level of understanding from learning disabilities to economic to religious backgrounds that is accepted without judgment. Of course there's gonna be jerk kids at every school, but that's the minority and not the majority.

My daughter has been there for 3 years and enjoys it. Her principal is awesome along with her supporting staff. GAC reminds me of DODDEA schools because often times the teachers children attend school there as well. Therefore they get the skinny on somethings going on due to their kids. My son loved his teachers and administrators to include the Principal. He stated there are things that happen that he was not happy with and did not want to go back. Had nothing to do w the teachers or administration. We are minorities and I have always been treated with the outmost respect from each principal on all 3 levels. I am disappointed some May feel this way but me and my family bleed GAC all day. GAC 4 life. Happy holidays

I finally wanted to take the time to write this review and express my disgust for a teacher by the…read morename of Mrs. Smith (short, dirty blonde hair) back when my daughter was in first grade. My daughter still recalls, to this day, how Mrs. Smith would scold her over the most insignificant things. She would tell her not to yawn in class, as if she wasn't allowed to be tired or could control when she yawned. She would never do this to the other students in the class if they yawned, despite the fact that they would also be talking in the middle of class while my daughter stayed quiet and well-behaved. My daughter was one of the very few Asians in the school at the time, and this behavior was clearly discriminatory. It is vile and repulsive to think that a teacher treats her students differently based on their race, but the fact remains that she would never scold the other white kids for the same things that she would scold my daughter for. After moving to California, the difference was like night and day. Every single teacher she had only ever praised her for being one of the brightest students they ever had. Her reading comprehension was 5 grade levels above her own, she took honors classes for writing, science, and math, and she kept straights A's for every subject all throughout her schooling. She was such a happy, smart, and disciplined student that multiple teachers asked me what my secret was to raising her. To see such a stark difference between how the teachers in California treated her versus Mrs. Smith, it was especially clear who the issue was. Mrs. Smith, if you happen to be reading this or someone has made you aware of this post, know that my daughter is now on a full academic scholarship at a prestigious university in California, and I have no doubt that she will be making a positive impact on the world. Despite your discouragement and discrimination towards her from a young age, she stayed passionate towards learning , so when she inevitably becomes successful, she will make sure that she speaks out against terrible people like you who target specific students. I certainly hope you're not teaching because someone like you should not be interacting with children, let alone educating them. You should have never been able to get a teaching degree in the first place, and the fact that you were able to get a job in the first place shows how flawed our education system can be. Unfortunately, the U.S. has too many of these discriminatory educators, and it's despicable. It's truly unfortunate that I only came to know about this later, after my daughter saw how differently the teachers in California treated her. When she was at Berkeley, she was young and didn't want to cause any trouble for me or her, but if I had known about this sooner, I would have brought this to the attention of the school, immediately. I honestly don't know if anything would have been done about her behavior because the front office was always hostile and rude towards me, and I could feel racist energy coming from them as well. I'm very passionate about this issue because I grew up in Georgia in the '70s/'80s where my family and I had to endure so much racism, and I don't want to see anybody have to go through the same things I did, especially my own child! For this very reason, I made it my life's mission to move to California, to an area with a predominantly Asian population, and it was the best decision. We are so happy in California, and we couldn't imagine being in any other state in the U.S. I know Georgia has changed a lot over the years, and even though there is a large ethnic community there now, we would never sacrifice the amazing weather, less mosquitoes, and the greater diversity of California to ever move back to Georgia.

Unfortunately, when we booked his camp this year, we were notified 3 days later that I was being transferred for work to another state. When we asked for a refund, they told us there was a $60 processing fee that was non-refundable. In spite of being repeat customers, and funneling our son's friends to their camp as well, they would not budge on this, despite the short gap between the purchase and the request for a refund. You would think with how many camps there are in the Atlanta area, they'd work with us to maintain a good reputation in the community. This is a dishonest practice and we will discourage our friends in the area from using their services in the future.

Most businesses try and work with the parents especially with less than two weeks left and parents have few options left, if any but instead of working with the parents, they are trying to get more money.. disgusting and shameless!!
