There is probably nothing more important than choosing the right pediatrician for your child. As a new parent, Peachtree Park Pediatrics (PPP) came in highly recommended by a trusted friend who takes her children here. Our very first visit was on a Tuesday, mid-morning, which might a busy time as the parking lot fills up quickly. We saw our pediatrician who asked us several questions about our newborn since leaving the hospital and demonstrated empathy and care for our little one. They checked height, weight, newborn papers, and baby's eyes. Baby girl received her first vaccine shot here and it was relatively painless that the nurse soothed baby. The facility was clean, staff was professional, and specialists were respectful in answering any questions for this new parent. There is a patient portal and the facility does text message reminders. The facility is in a medical building and parking is not free, but for about an hour appointment it's $5. You can print a receipt before the gate falls down is you need it for reimbursement. read more

We've been with Peachtree Park for 8 years now. I have 4 little kids ages 5-8. Staff is always really nice. I would always recommend bringing or having a digital copy of your insurance card and doing the digital check in...especially if you have more than one child or little ones... it makes the check in process easier. Also their paid parking meter on the way out can be tricky with the card which is annoying... if it's not you holding up the line someone else is. Use the QR code on the signs by entrance doors to make exiting easier. Trust me. And if you see a line backed up go to the other exit through the parking garage! read more

We visited Peachtree Park Pediactrics to get my daughter a check-up so she can start pre-k, and from beginning to end, the visit was an utter disaster. To start- the receptionists charged me $10 more for the same type of visit, citing "admin fees." I brought my 4 year old in to complete her GA 3300 form. I was charged $75. When I brought my 7 year old in July, I was charged $65- which was verified by the receptionist. When I asked why I wasn't charged this same amount for the first similar visit, I was told that it was a mistake on the previous receptionist's part. Instead of honoring the first price, I was charged the latter of $75 due to an administrative error. I believe that communication between staff should be improved because being charged two different prices because of a staff error is obnoxious and ridiculous. Additionally the staff tried to charge me for my 4 year old's shots when they already had her updated shot records that I sent in a month prior to her visit. When I explained to the staff that she'd already received her shots and I had her records faxed over to their offices last month, I was met with skepticism, as if I couldn't possibly be right that they overlooked receiving her records. After discovering their error- I received no apology. Any doctor's office that cannot keep track of new patients records properly, and appropriately make sure that they have a complete and wholistic few of the patient, is a red flag. Had I blindly trusted they had thoroughly reviewed her records, my poor child would've received double doses of vaccines that she'd already received. SHAME ON YOU PEACHTREE PARK PEDIATRICS! We waited 20 minutes before being taken back to a room. The highlight were our nurses who were extremely friendly, personable, and exceptional (they ALONE are the reason for the single star given). After getting to the room, we waited for the doctor to come in. Our normal doctor is Dr. Speer (HE'S GREAT!) however, we were not able to see him. Instead we were seeing Dr. Robert Wiskind. When the Dr. Wiskind came in the room, he stepped on my husband's shoe (he has arthritis in his foot). Instead of responding with an apology like a normal human being he showed absolutely no remorse for his actions. After my husband told him, "excuse me, you stepped on my foot". Dr. Robert Wiskind's response was, "Got cha'". My husband replied, "Got cha? Don't you mean sorry?" Robert Wiskind then replied, "is that what you want me to say?" My husband says, "yes, an apology would be nice. I do have arthritis in my foot." Very distasteful and offensive interaction. Lastly, when we called (twice) to make a complaint with the Office Manager Cheryl Welch, she was non-responsive. We were told she was at lunch both times we called, so we left a voicemail message and have yet to receive a call back. My husband and I truly wanted to love Peachtree Park Pediactrics since all of the good Google reviews and the research we did to find a pediatrician since moving to Buckhead from out of state. However, the lack of protocol, decency and decorum has left us with a bad impression. read more

Dr.Speer is an amazing provider who spends time listening to every concern and is very thorough with his care and exam. The front desk staff has been very helpful and welcoming. As a first time mom, Peachtree Park Pediatrics made me feel confident, safe, secure and loved. All of the doctors are amazing. I clearly remember stopping by the office while 8 months pregnant (10 years ago) to meet Dr. Fleming. She was attentive and open to answering the list of questions I prepared especially for this moment. After spending about 30 mins with her, I knew this was the best place for my daughter. Over the years, my daughter has met with Dr. Wiskind, Dr. Kuo and Dr. Barfield. All are absolutely amazing. I thought for a while about even writing this because I hate leaving bad reviews. However, if I can help just one person it's worth it. After moving to a new pediatrician and understanding how thing should run, I realized I was so complacent with this office and the way I was treated because it's all I've ever known. My advice: Do your research and be sure this is where you want to be/how how you want to be spoken to/ how you want to spend your time... because, you'll be spending a lot of time here! (Also- the amount of five star reviews on here are likely skewed due to the free water bottle they give in exchange for a perfect 5 stars). I'll start with the positives- Joy- the lactation consultant- she's amazing!! Seriously, she was almost a therapist in the early, exhausting, delusional days of postpartum fog. She's the reason nursing was a breeze for me with my first and she gave me so much hope yet was very realistic with my twins during our 6 month nursing journey! (The lactation consultants in Piedmont's NICU sing her praises. She is such a wonderful person and asset to this office). We also loved our docs- Dr. Brown and Dr. Speer! Loved their bedside manner, loved how practical and realistic they were, loved that they're both parents too! They never made us feel rushed and covered all questions and concerns. I truly only have amazing things to say about the providers at this office. Now, the negatives- Rooms are super small, almost impossible to maneuver with twins. The wait times are insane & average 1 hour just to see a doc. There was a well visit apt we waited over 2 hours to see a doc. (They did validate our parking for this apt). The parking lot is a disaster. Spaces are way too small & to get car seats out of the car, I've had to crawl thru my trunk. It's always crowded and, can get expensive. The attitude at the front desk & on the phone when scheduling. One time I was told if I saw a different doc (because my primary was unavailable) I could never see my primary again. I've also been asked to make separate day well visits for the twins because they didn't have apts for both of them and couldn't accommodate me. At the end of February, they sent out an email to all parents about how to speak to their front desk and clinical staff and said some parents were being rude/antagonistic to their staff. This all compounded but, the straw that broke the camels back for us was my twin's 9 month well visit. Nurses administered shots to the twins, the doc came in and did a standard check. She noted when she looked in their ears they that looked like they COULD be getting infected. She said she wanted to write me a prescription that I didn't need to use unless they seemed fussy/ that their ears were bothering them (I did not ask for this). That was that- maybe a 45 second convo. We never used the prescription. The twins never got fussy. Weeks later, I got a bill in the mail for two well visits (which we had) and two sick visits! I was sure this was a mistake so I called and was given the run around. Finally, I spoke with the office manager, Donna, who told me it was very much intentional and the they had 2 ear infections according to the doc/notes. I was absolutely shocked. I explained everything that happened as I was IN THE ROOM. She just kept referring to "the notes". Additionally, I explained that we never treated them for ear infections nor used antibiotics! At this point, I'd talked to my insurance company and got their feedback about how this was billed and got their advice on how it should be handled- I was very frustrated to say the least. After several calls, the office manager removed the charges for the 2 sick visits (initially, she said she would be willing to remove just one? But did remove both in the end). She told me it is always up to the doc to decide how I get billed and that "next time" it may happen like this again. Why should I be paying for 2 sick visits when we didn't come in for this, nor were we even definitively told that our children had ear infections, nor did we use any medication to treat them? This doesn't feel right to me. She said I signed something that allowed this and, I'm sure I probably did but, that doesn't mean an office has the right to bill parents for anything... or does it, I guess it does here! I repeatedly asked to speak with the doc and she told me she was much to busy for that type of a conversation. I decided it was time to cut ties. Unfortunately, I'll never know if this was the office managers pov or if the doc really was behind this. In any case, I prefer my family to go to a practice with sound ethics/ business policies. (Also, wow, I did not realize how efficient visits to the pediatrician COULD be until I switched to a new one... seeing a doc within 5 mins of my arrival- every time - I feel spoiled)! read more

I highly recommend Peachtree Park Pediatrics and Dr. Anna Kuo. As first time parents of twins, we were nervous and came with many questions to each visit. She was so kind to answer all of our questions and didn't make us feel stupid for asking any question- no matter how silly I thought it sounded! She quickly and correctly diagnosed an abnormality on my son's head, which thankfully, after ultrasound, was exactly that- a benign cyst. Just loved her- she is equally parts smart and kind! Also, we never waited more than 5-10 minutes. Other things I loved- the nurse hot-line was such a life-saver. First time mom here! I love how dr Fleming cares for my daughter. She is extremely matter of fact and honest. She's also very thorough and takes the time to answer every one of your questions. It always takes a bit of time out of the day to go see her but it's worth the wait every time! Additionally, the front staff is always very polite and willing to help me with my insurance issues that I had when I first started coming. Even when my daughter wasn't initially insured they worked with me and were up front about the costs. The medical assistants also are great. I usually get this one girl- wish I could remember her name specifically- who is so sweet and kind to my baby as she gets her on the scale and gives her shots. Highly recommend! read more

Update as of 6/17: I called in last Thursday to give this place another try. My lactation consultant recommended this place and said I should give them another try especially after management read my post. We are waiting for my sons insurance card from BcBS but he needed to be seen before it comes. Because I know our insurance will reimburse us for out of pocket expenses I decided to give them another try. I called in later in the week last week to inquire about self pay. The first thing the rep says is what type of insurance do you have. Why are the receptionists so difficult to comprehend! If someone is inquiring about self pay why would you ask about insurance ??? And then every word I said she would keep cutting me off asking additional questions. So I asked her to slow down and stop cutting me off and she then goes well I'm trying to answer you. I told her this is the second time I've tried to make an appt and your office receptionist have failed. I am a great loyal client when I'm treated well and unfortunately I will have to report back and let everyone know this is not the place! They are horrible with listening and accommodating new patients and inquiries. I currently have blue cross blue shield and called this office to see if I could possibly do my 72 hour follow up. Tried to make an appointment for my son to enroll in his new school. Received a call about an hour before to inform me they did not have his records (I had asked a week ago when I made the appointment). they refused to see my son because I choose an alternate immunization schedule. The have a zero tolerance policy for this and actually suggested I have him pumped full of 6-8 vaccines in ONE DAY to comply. This is insane! It cannot be an evidence based decision. These doctors should reconsider their oath "to do not harm" rather than be so inflexible. A doctor's role is to educate and advise, not to dictate decisions that put children at risk. read more

My son had his first appointment with Peachtree Park Peds today. What an awesome atmosphere! The staff is friendly and the office is modern and clean. The paperwork was easy and quick to complete and we were able to get in an exam room right on time. The back office staff really know how to make my son feel right at home and comfortable - sometimes it's hard to deal with a 5 year old who is undoubtedly convinced he's about to get a shot (even though he wasn't)! When I met Dr. Lauren Vergouven, she instantly made me feel at ease. She's incredibly knowledgeable and was a straight shooter. She got to the nitty gritty of my son's health, our medical history, and why I left our previous pediatricians office. She touched all the bases with me and answered every question I had. Very mixed experiences here over the years. Because we rarely visit, we haven't bothered to switch until now. However, I have learned that there is a very small tightrope that I need to walk when I enter, between coming prepared with questions and concerns and communicating any substantial knowledge. If I am unprepared, I don't get the information I want. If I am "too" prepared, I am questioned - the typical doctor ego questions ("what is your medical training?" rather than, "well, actually it's this way and this is why..."). For this reason, we have tried to stay away from Dr. Ellerine. Office staff has had many issues with things ranging from pronouncing my (very common) child's name to miscommunication of payment arrangements. Not a welcoming crew, to be sure. Cleanliness of office: passable. Nurses: just lovely. They have almost always been fantastic, with one glaring exception. Can't remember her name; you'll just have to roll the dice on that one. Perspective: traditional. You will get all the vaccines, or you will not be allowed through their doors. You will not question this. Any questions will be met with derision and contempt, rather than kind education. Time spent: meh. Sometimes, docs have a hand on the door. More often, though, we get enough attention. I hope this review has been helpful. Like another reviewer said, you can't expect a personal connection with a doc, a super clean facility, or a welcoming attitude from the staff. It's just get your shots and move on. So if that's what you are looking for, keep moving. If, on the other hand, you want to be scolded and made to feel small for any insecurity or question, by all means, sign right up! read more

So upset!!! My daughter fell off her bike and needed 6 stitches on her face. I made sure to bring her to PPP 2 days after the incident to check her stitches. I brought her back again 1 week later, and AT NO TIME did any of the physicians (she was examined by at least 3) or nurses remove the stitches from her wound. Even if they were dissolvable, which I was told by the staff, they need to come out within 5 days to reduce scarring. 2 weeks after the incident, my husband and I noticed the stitches were not dissolving, and decided to call the ED where they were done, and were told that they were NOT dissolvable!. We had to take her all the way to Duluth to the urgent care center to have them removed on a Sunday, and now I'm left worrying that the scar on my daughter's FACE will not heal properly. Needless to say, I will be looking at other practices to bring my 3 children, and I am writing simply because I don't want this to happen to another family. read more

I want desperately to have a better connection with my pediatric care for my baby but this place keeps disappointing me. It's really hard to like them. I've even gone through three different doctors there, no wait 5 and can't seem to land on a good one. So with that take it as I'm really trying hard to see through the ugliness of this place. It starts with the moment you walk in the door with check in, then the nurses, then the complacent doctors. I feel I'm done. It really bothers me when I even call the nursing hotline.
