I think that the cost to play games bars some low-income folks out, which is sad. At the same time, the place is in really good condition, and is paying rent in Stowe, which can't be cheap either. This place was recommended to us from the guy that we rented are air b and b from. He told us it was something we should check out while we were in the area. My mother loves going into little shops and buying unique items. My mother and I stopped in and there was a variety of art and unique items in the shop. I seen this cool looking cooler that looked like a truck. I looked at the price tag and it was seven hundred dollars. This unique shop is not the cheapest and everything was very pricey, but everything is handmade by an artist because there are many artists in the Stowe, Vermont area. My mother ended up buying candles and couples of souvenirs. The store was a great experience to walk through and see a variety of art from different artists. The customer service was great and the staff were very through.

So here's the deal. In the 1hr class, you'll be under his watchful eye as he guides you through some of the basics. You'll first pick a color scheme to apply to one of four solids. Then you'll enter the belly of the beast, where Meticulous Mike will serve as art director, stage manager and Socratic facilitator. (It will behoove you to know that that last one when you visit the studio.) Like many of the finer things in life, it's the intersection of art and science. He will tease out what you already know and fill in what you don't. Then he'll demo ALL of the steps before execution. This thorough rehearsal is a critical step, as we must consider elements like tools, body position, working time, gravity, rotation, temperature, something called a LEHR, and a kiln-like contraption that screams hot at a spicy 2400ºF. And if you go with a buddy, that adds the extra layer of deciding who needs to stand where and at what time to capture some photos. Lots to think about - but fret not, for you're in good hands. Once the demo is done, it's time for the real thing. You can expect a good amount of hands-on, although Michael will do some of the particularly technical bits himself (probably for the better - hot glass is finicky, even more so in a neophyte's grubby little mitts). Once the process is done, you've got a neat piece that you can bring home to put on display. How cool! ("No - it's /hot/," Michael will quickly interject.) ** DISCLAIMER ** the cooling process takes about a day. If you're visiting, do NOT schedule Little River on your last day. You'll need to return the following day to collect your handiwork. ** ADDENDUM ** Having just read RM's and JG's scathing 2O24 reviews - aight, sure, the Mike Aura definitely gives has an edgy, punchy, perfectionist flavor if you will. The owner's sense of humor - at everyone's else's expense - totally ruined the event, which was a birthday present. When we sign up for activities such as glass blowing, we do so to learn, explore and have fun. However when someone is constantly mocking your lack of knowledge, making sarcastic comments and takes personal shots at you, it is not a positive experience. Michael had talked about the possibility of retiring. I think that would be a good plan. I would highly advise others to spend their time and money at other venues in the beautiful town of Stowe. They have some really old equipment, but you have no idea exactly how old it is. $5/person is a lot considering the size of this place, but hopefully it'll help them better label everything and get some more stuff in there.

Located on the second floor of an imposing Greek revival building, The Current museum is located at…read morethe Helen Day Memorial Library and Art Center on Pond Street in Stowe village. The Current hosts exhibitions of contemporary art produced by well-known nationally and internationally recognized artists and local Vermont artists -- including elementary school children -- and various events showcasing the art and the artists. On our recent visit to The Current, we happened to visit in between signature exhibitions and the museum was displaying works proudly produced by children from local elementary and middle schools in its three galleries. The quality of the artwork fell somewhat short of our expectations -- given the professional artists' work prominently featured on the museum's website -- but my art viewing companion and I still enjoyed viewing this exhibit and supporting the community. We will return to The Current visit next time we are in Stowe. Admission to The Current is free, although donations are welcome. Pro Tip: The Current also offers reasonably priced art classes for children and adults. Check the website for more information.

I was in Stowe for the weekend on vacation and looking for something to do, when I saw a banner…read moredowntown for the Stowe Theatre Guild. I figured why not check them out online and see what's going on. I was easily able to purchase tickets online (using my cell phone even!) and pick them up at the event only hours later. The Stowe Theatre Guild performs at the theatre inside the town hall! And there's an elevator for those who need it since its upstairs. The price was reasonable for admission, and their performance was first class.. This isn't some community theatre group, everyone has performing experience and it was jut like going to see a major production in a big city. I saw the Great American Trailer Park: the musical, which was hilarious.For some reason I always get singled out, and at the beginning of the show, the character Duke was walking around looking for his missing girlfriend Pippi, and gave me a beer and had me sing the buck stops here, her "dancing" song. The entire audience had a great time, and I wish I didn't live 2 states away or I'd be going to their shows regularly. If you are near Stowe, this is a must stop.
