Went in to purchase a couple of items, but unfortunately ended up leaving without buying anything because of the customer service. The employees were not welcoming at all and didn't even acknowledge customers that walked in. One of the employees seemed irritated and was not very pleasant when I asked a few questions. I understand everyone has bad days, but a simple hello and a friendly attitude can make a big difference when you're serving customers. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. read more

Remarkable Things at Stowe Craft sells unique gifts, art, jewelry, home furnishings, and accessories all designed and made by artisans. This place was recommended to us from the guy that we rented are air b and b from. He told us it was something we should check out while we were in the area. My mother loves going into little shops and buying unique items. My mother and I stopped in and there was a variety of art and unique items in the shop. I seen this cool looking cooler that looked like a truck. I looked at the price tag and it was seven hundred dollars. This unique shop is not the cheapest and everything was very pricey, but everything is handmade by an artist because there are many artists in the Stowe, Vermont area. My mother ended up buying candles and couples of souvenirs. The store was a great experience to walk through and see a variety of art from different artists. We couldn't even look around without feeling like a criminal...one of these ladies followed 2 feet behind us the whole time...maybe because my friend was African-american...I hate to be the person who says that but this was my 2nd experience in this store ,,,the 1st experience with an all white crowd,they didn't do this....on top of all of this, the lady was a snooty and rude....also waaay overpriced and I'm not talking about the art work... horrible experience here read more

I love this shop. The collection is well curated, representing an unusually large but not overwhelming variety of mediums. I visited for the first time in 2019, enjoying myself by drinking in the sights and talking with the staff. I did not buy anything and did not feel pressured to. I sought out this shop again when visiting the area. The staff were as friendly as ever. I like that they are knowledgeable about the artisans who make the things they sell and clearly enjoy their unique inventory as much as I did. Unusual for an artisan gallery/shop, there are a surprising number of items accessible to those with modest budgets. Stowe Craft gallery came to my fathers rescue when he was searching online for a particular brooch from Michael Michaud for my mother, a few days before Christmas! This item was sold out everywhere including at Stowe's. But, they said they would see if they could get it and if so, send it out ASAP. Communication was great & they did manage to get the piece & promptly send it to us. Unfortunately, even with best efforts it still came 1 day late. (had to be shipped to FL) Snow storms and holiday madness to blame I think. We knew there was a chance that this would happen so my Dad was ok with placing the order. Really-really nice shop with a unique selection of "mountain art" if you are into that. I have been to many of these throughout the years from Colorado to California and this one really stands out in the Northeast. The staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered a piece that was unfortunately not in stock, which although was not immediately apparent as I ordered from a link of a marketing email, the e-commerce director emailed me promptly the next working day about alternative options and she arranged a rush order, with the artist making a piece for me and then shipped it the day promised, received 2 days later. Very large variety of different artists however this comes at a price and you can tell that this is really priced around the Tourist season and not necessarily for the average collector in some cases. I visited today and left slackjawed. My fiance went in and I looked through the jewelry cases as I'm searching for jewelry to go with my wedding dress (i.e. spending significant money). I waited patiently in line as two people paid since there was only one clerk in the store. When it was my turn, I asked to see a necklace from the case and then a clearly-monied woman interrupted and inquired about jewelry, too. That's not the clerk's fault. What is, however, is dropping everything, instantly ignoring me and helping that woman. And not just briefly; I waited as she went through multiple items with the woman. It's amusing because the clothes I wear/handbag I carry aren't even close to cheap, but I guess it requires an extraordinary standard of wealth to be given service here. This store is AMAZING. I was totally floored by all of the awesomeness that is contained in this tiny little store. I went here to buy a thank you gift for my cousin after staying at her house for the weekend. It was seriously hard to pick out any one thing, because there was such an amazing selection. All of the inventory is handmade, from the awesome kaleidoscope collection to the beautiful glass orbs to the jewelry. I wanted everything. I was on a budget and this store is not cheap, but I was able to find a beautiful wooden trivet for under $20. Then they gift wrapped it for me. I don't know where these people learned to gift wrap, but even THAT was beautiful. Come here. Bring your credit card and leave happy and a little broke. read more

I do love me a good artisans' store!!!! I would put Stowe Craft Gallery on my "worth returning to see what's new" list. They have a wide variety of different artists' work, different styles, unique approaches. I was particularly taken by several artists highlighted using reclaimed materials in ways I'd not before seen. Some of the items are pricey, and some less so. Yes, you're in a tourist town....take that into consideration. Given that, I thought the prices in the fair range, and worth it for the unique items I found. Fun store!!! read more

Buyer beware! They have lower prices online than they do in the store. Before buying going on their website to see what they are charging. They also do not tell you about upcoming sales that are happening within the next 24 to 48 hours even though they know you are a repeat buyer and part of the loyalty program. They send out emails about sales and when you call about them they say it does not apply to the item you are interested in. After complaining to the store and voicing the above concerns they did work to accommodate me on the ring that I was trying to purchase in store 2 days prior. They did give me the sale price after I called back and told them that I could order it online for the discount but I wanted the one I tried on in the store. Great store with beautiful and unique pieces just make sure you cannot get a better price on their website. read more

We have been coming up to Stowe almost every summer for vacation for the past 25-30 years. It has so much to offer in a peaceful setting. My one agenda item, if any, is to visit Stowe Craft. I have never walked out empty handed. They have a unique and beautiful selection of art, pottery, jewelry, etc. Years ago, for my birthday we found a gorgeous solid wood rocking chair and they were kind enough to actually construct a crate so that they could ship it back to our home in Pennsylvania. Delightful store and great customer service. I loved the beautiful handpainted outlet covers! I bought one for myself and one for my son-in-law, who was very pleased with his gift. Unfortunately, the covers didn't come with screws and because the covers are thicker than the ordinary plastic ones, we had to buy new screws. I recommend that screw of appropriate length and color be included. read more
