It seems like they did a good job, I'll really get to see when the leaves come out. The person who climbed the tree cleaned up the yard well. I forgot all about this review (8/4/16) until the owner YELPed me, the leaves are out and their trim up made the tree look healthier and gave some dappled sunshine.

He and his crew took my yard from looking like no one lives here to picnic and/or camping ready. It looks so good!! From overgrown trees, bushes, knocked down dead trees, and nearly a foot thick of pine needles. I can see the ground, YAY. It looks amazingly beautiful, and was just in time for that torrential rain this past Sunday. Prior to hiring Gil I had a quote from a larger company who has done work here before. He came, gave his quote, said he'd let me know when the following week, but never called to schedule. Instead he texts one day saying we're in the neighborhood, we can do today. I do believe his ego got in the way. Not Gil, came, gave his quote, said he'd be here a few days later at 7:30am, and indeed he was and ready to go. They had a lot to do in the very cold weather and had it done early afternoon. Great service, friendly, and best of all, NO EGO or mess left behind. I will say, other guy's quote was less but that's because he had his own wood chipper. I will also say, last time he did trim a tree, they left a mess and broke one of my ollas (a self watering pot) with no mention. So, not only did Gil and his team get the job done, they did so better than expected and left nothing behind but our firewood. Bigger is not always better and cheaper oftentimes has consequences. If you want really great work with a very professional awesome crew, Gil Funes and his team are it. I am an hour away and he still came up the Cajon Pass and did a remarkable job. Should you want to know the company to stay away from, it is JS Tree Care. I could and should give a bad review, but this will suffice. GO WITH GIL!!

So since he did this I will tell what transpired. I asked him if he could cut shorter after he completed the first cut. My family and neighbors agreed that it did not look good. However, I did not tell him that because I did not want to offend him. This was right after cut. I nicely texted him and asked if next time he could go shorter. He said ok. He then texted me on the day of the next cut and I just reminded him by saying ok thx and short. I then received a text he sent to someone of a screenshot of our conversation calling me a Stupid C --t. I told him that he sent the text to me " obviously by accident". I clearly was offended and it was completely unwarranted. Of course then stopped my service with him. I now just received a long text from him saying derogatory statements about me for texting him those two brief request. He said I was ignorant, rude, and disrespectful by me asking him about it being shorter. Claimed the two text were continuous (lying) only the two and one like I said was a reply to him and not even a sentence. He then proceeded to tell me to pick up my dog shit because he is a professional. Mind you I have an extremely small back yard with three dogs. I never met him in person. He would let me know roughly the day and then on that time he was coming. This was done when I was at work. Again, only twice. The only reason twice is because he did the lawn the second time before I saw his crass text.I never dealt with this kind of behavior from someone not only works for a business, but a family owned business. He needs to get his anger in check. I hope he does not continue to harass me.

A situation came up and I needed to cancel the job due to a financial family hiccup and he was understanding and cancelled the job with no issue. I plan to reschedule him in the fall for this job but from previous tree work I know it will come out perfect.

Jeff Brown, the owner, was friendly, knowledgeable, and his estimate was reasonable. Jeff was prompt and masterfully maneuvered the limbs of my tree through power lines, while his crew cleaned-up. My next-door neighbor, who maintains a meticulous yard, watched eagle-eyed. That evening, she texted me to ask for Jeff's information. She has had him do tree work ever since. Actually, several of of my neighbors have. I definitely will be hiring Jeff again in the future when tree issues arise.

During the job you and wife added more things like cutting down a tree that was growing over your neighbors garage, cutting a rose bush that first was instructed not to touch because it was over a hundred years in age and she liked the wild look. Then we were asked to trim a large rose bush inside the yard , we did that. Those jobs weren't apart of the initial job. Then when we came back we were asked to cut some more things down because the neighbors moved their car and also to now make a path through some hedges and rose bushes that have grown into each other . mean while the wife doesn't want the rose bush cut which is impossible. The initial job was completed along with a few extra things that we didn't charge for.

What a great experience dealing with Jon and Romina from beginning to end. Romina was able to get…read moreenough of the granite, my wife and I wanted, shipped from the source even though the local supplier didn't have enough in stock. After the stone was shipped we went to their shop and looked at the stone and worked with both Jon and Romina to layout how the stone would be cut to get grain matching along adjacent surfaces, book matched backsplashes, and having a specific grain pattern included into the piece that would be on the large island in the center of the kitchen. Also, because of a very long run of counters there was going be a seam necessary. Jon was able to adjust how he would cut two pieces of stone so the grain would match perfectly and produce a nearly invisible seam. It was perfect. Jon and crew did a fantastic job during installation. Very efficient and extremely neat keeping our kitchen super clean during all stages of installation. From getting the cut slabs off the truck and into the house very quickly to setting up the work area to bringing their tools and installation supplies in; there was this "economy of motion" and it was obvious that they really knew their business and took pride in their work. The countertops came out fantastic. In my opinion you can't do better than Jon and Romina and Lawrence Natural Stone.
