My go to spot whenever anyone visits. t's my default whenever friends or family are in town and I need somewhere that's a guaranteed good time. It's super walkable and just genuinely cute. The kind of place you can wander around for a couple hours without a real plan. Parking is honestly easier than people make it sound. There's plenty on the side streets and I can usually find a spot without circling forever. Once you're there it's all on foot. Biggest thing for me: it's SO dog friendly! Most of the shops let you bring your pup in! Huge plus. There's really something for everyone. Tons of restaurants, clothing stores, and the cutest boutiques. It works whether you're a tourist checking it off the list or a local wanting a nice afternoon. They also sometimes have farmer's markets too. If you're visiting Boulder, definitely would recommend. read more

Pearl Street Mall is a pedestrian mall in downtown Boulder. It extends for about 3 blocks and includes a wide variety of shopping and dining options. It is nicely landscaped and offers plenty of seating for people like me. I'm not a shopper but my wife lives browsing the shops and I love people watching. Pearl Street Mall provides opportunities for both of us. We were here on a Sunday. A nice bonus is that parking is free on Sunday. Pearl Street Mall is worth a visit. read more

I love Pearl Street Mall- it's walkable with plenty of shops for everyone. Even though it's busy, it never feels overly crowded like I'm a sardine in a tin can. I can also always find parking but I may have to walk a bit to my desired location. They also decorate the pedestrian areas with flowers in the spring and summer and decorations around the holidays. I would love to give 5-stars but there have been a few times where I have felt unsafe at this mall. Once in May, I went to the public restroom with a friend and there was a homeless woman living in there who claimed it was her house and threatened us. She was erratic, unpredictable, and it was scary. Another time in May there was a man who was very unstable and screaming the word "slash" and he was acting like he was going to break shop windows and was lunging at people. That was also scary because he was unpredictable. I called the police this day and they said they had already received multiple calls about him. I saw him here again the following day. I also do not like all the people who push me to sign petitions. In short, I love Pearl Street Mall for the most part, I just wish it had more security to ensure the safety of pedestrians who are patronizing it. read more

Pedestrian mall in the heart of Boulder with a nice mix of smaller locally owned shops as well as big (typically active lifestyle) brands. Modern presentation of traditional architecture. Nicely curated mix of dining options and of course cafes and ice cream/gelato places interspersed for visitors in between. Lots of benches to pause and soak in the atmosphere as well as some entertainment in the pedestrianized areas. Worth a stroll for visitors to Boulder for a shopping and refreshment respite! Gosh, I had not been here in 25 years! What used to be new age musicians playing flutes and Hare Krishnas taking donations, is now high-end stores and hipster restaurants. I was happy to find a couple of stores still selling incense and offering readings. Miss that vibe. Nice streetscape and easy garage or street parking. read more

Headed down to Pearl for dinner and drinks on the top floor of Avanti. On the way in, we saw the traditional tulip displays in full bloom even in such a dry spring. Always so many eateries to enjoy in the area and very nice floral displays that are seasonally planted. Remember, the Pearl Street Mall is not just for tourists it's a great spot for locals too. Tons of shops, food, and fun in Pearl Street Mall! They have a little bit for everyone, whether it's to go shopping for some new clothes or craving a sweet treat like ice cream they got it. Any time of year, Pearl Street is the place to be in Boulder! Spanning almost a half dozen blocks, this pedestrian mall is a great place to visit here. Not only does it have a bunch of shops, but various fun activities through the year! Right now in December, there are great displays of holiday lights, as well as a virtual game! During spring, tulips are king & you can find the big Bolder Boulder Expo and sign up for a race! Summer hosts many food and concert events, as well as the classic street performers. Photo ops abound and the garden planters can be quite beautiful. Freddie's Hot Dogs is a great cheap bite to eat, Ben and Jerry's is always tasty and Pizza Colore is my favorite sit down. I've heard about a million other great places to eat but still need to try them! read more

We spent a few hours shopping today - two grandkids and I - and had a GREAT time . Lush ladies entertained the kids with bubbles while I loaded up a basket with essentials. They answered questions kindly and were so generous with the kids. We found a busker playing guitar and drums and the kids dance for an HOUR while I people watched. My grand daughter said it was the best day EVER!!! read more

This is a pedestrian outdoor mall type of area that stretches for 2-3 blocks (with active roads crossing through each block) in downtown Boulder and it contains so many super incredible shops and restaurants! Parking is pretty straightforward. It'll be street parking in the blocks surrounding the mall area, so expect to walk a little bit, but there's plenty of spots available so you won't have to park too far away from the mall typically. My friends and I had an afternoon in Boulder after a nearby hike in the Flatirons and we spent the entire time at Pearl Street Mall popping in to different shops. It's not nearly as touristy as you would imagine and it definitely felt more like the downtown area of a college town, given that Boulder has a big college in its city. It is a super wonderful place to spend an afternoon exploring, tons of foot traffic, but not too crowded. A little something for everyone here. There's a bit of a sculpture/play area, so it's kid and family friendly, tons of bar options, and great for both tourists and locals alike for souvenirs (that are classy and unique) and regular shopping options (outdoor gear, bookshops, etc.). NICE SHOPS and RESTAURANTS ALONG HISTORIC PEARL STREET We recently dropped by the shopping district on historic Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. Visitors can stroll along a brick-paved section of Pearl Street (stretch of street is closed to car traffic). Parking (pay fee on parking app) is available at cross streets and public garages. The outdoor pedestrian mall on Pearl Street is lined with stores and restaurants, some of which are housed in historic brick buildings. Along the walk are play areas for children and benches for people watching. Locally owned businesses include Two Hands Paperie, a very nice art supply and stationery store and independent bookstores. We were surprised to see many international luxury outerwear stores such as Norrona (Norway), Himali (Nepal), Montbell (Japan), Fjallraven (Sweden), Arc-teryx (Canada) and Hestra Concept Store (Sweden). Lots of locally owned eateries (the only chain we noticed was Ben & Jerry) and restaurants line Pearl Street - ranging from ice cream parlors, gastropubs and delis to fine dining. We had lunch with friends at Zoe Ma Ma, a Michelin-recommended casual Asian restaurant. Hopefully, the local charm of Pearl Street is not lost with the invasion of so many luxury retailers - we noticed at least three small shops (selling souvenirs and textile and other hand made crafts) were having going-out-of-business sales after the holidays. read more

Lots of cool local shops, bookstores, and eateries within walking distance. You can park for free after 7pm, which is a plus. Our 1st time visiting Colorado so we wanted to explore and ended up at Pearl Street Mall. A few blocks of shops, restaurants, boutiques, Cafes, Gelato, Ice Cream & more. Such a nice walkway full of beautiful flower beds, plenty of benches... a peaceful feeling. We had lunch at Pasta Jay's, which was delicious! Then went on walking and shopping around at different stores, made a stop at Capital One Cafe for a nice latte, then off for ice cream... simply an amazing day here for us, so we're happy to have found it. read more

Definitely a highlight of Boulder, CO! This is a huge outdoor mall that goes on for several blocks. There's great stores like athleta, lululemon, local shops, stores with Colorado swag and tons of eateries! The last block especially has several restaurants that offer Mexican, Asian, Italian and American cuisine. I love going the Ben & Jerry's for ice cream and there are beautiful flowers and benches to sit at to enjoy the view and people watch. A super happenin' outdoor mall located in downtown Boulder's historic Pearl Street district. This part of town is filled with tons of unique shops, restaurants, and historical landmarks. The buildings are colorful and the streets are bustling with locals and tourists alike. It's an area that remains festive all throughout the year with eye catching decorations. At any given time, you'll see several different types of street performers and local vendors selling unique handmade crafts. It has its' fair share of homelessness but it's not rampant. They keep this walking mall very clean and attractive. If you're a foodie or bar hopper, this area has TONS of options to choose from. Parking is limited to the street with a few parking lots sprinkled all throughout, and it's pretty much all paid parking. They have several events ranging from live music to street parties to weekly farmer's markets. Pearl Street Mall is also very family friendly and is a great place to bring children. It's one of the most popular landmarks in Boulder and for a good reason. read more

Pearl Street Mall is the heart and soul of Boulder. And while, yes, it is an outdoor "mall," it's really so much more. It's for: 1. Shopping: You'll find general retail as well as specialty and fun stores - don't miss the kite store! 2. Restaurants: You're in trouble if you can't find a wonderful restaurant you like here. Often times we'll find ourselves on the strip just for dinner. 3. Walking: Many days I would just pop down here for a nice stroll if I wasn't up for a hike. 4. Artwork: Yes, there are lots of art stores along the strip. But there's outdoor outwork sprinkled throughout the mall. 5. Street Acts: There are all kinds of street acts on the mall. Some are forgettable. While others you will find yourself watching for a full half hour. Be sure to tip accordingly! 6. People watching. My favorite shops are Savannah Bee Co, Free People, Urban Outfitters, Savvy, Fjallraven, and peppercorn to name a few. For some food options I love Oak, Rio, Bartaco, Bohemian Biergarten, japango, Avanti, Amu, and Jungle. For cafes Suti and co is in walking distance, also wonder, tridentand Ozo are good options. Pearl Street is so central to Boulder, it's hard to imagine the pedestrian mall is less than 50 years old. It's a great space with a huge variety of businesses: many are chains or national brands, but lots of local stuff too. And don't stop with the pedestrian portion: interesting stuff extends a few blocks in each direction beyond it. A few fun kid play areas, one with rocks to jump around on and another with animal sculptures to climb. Not playgrounds, but good for an energetic few minutes. Once I was alive while my husband was at a meeting at Google, walking up and down for a couple hours, some great bookstores and cute boutiques, eateries and coffee shops are all there to enjoy. There's a Farmers Market and Artist market in the weekends that looks amazing! Definitely lucky for locals who can go there to enjoy the outdoors while eating or shopping. read more

I'm so glad I get to walk this stretch of Boulder multiple times a week. Winter or summer there's always something going on and great people watching to take in. Each season there are beautiful lights and or changing flowers to admire. It's actually quite shocking how much our little pansies and tulips can endure weather wise. When the City Of Boulder changes out the tulip bulbs (once a year or so) they give them away to residents. Keep an eye on their Facebook Page and sign up for their newsletter to stay on top of the happenings. While there are parts of the mall where bicycling and 4-footed friends are not permitted I see it rarely enforced. From the Band on the Bricks, Bolder Boulder expo, and Art on the Bricks, there's something for everyone on Pearl Street. read more

The very epicenter of this great mid-size city, it is a special area that brings our community together and offers a sample of Boulder's distinctly unique overall vibe. There's something for everyone, and what makes it so special is that it's not a series of chain stores, or bland offerings. Nope, that doesn't work here. Independent shops and restaurants line this 6-to-8 block section, and it won't disappoint. Whether you're on your own, visiting your CU student, here on business, or visiting with friends or lived ones, Pearl Street has so much to offer regardless of the season of time of day. My suggestion is to wander, explore, as so.much of Pearl Street is the varied subjects. The East & West ends are really fun. Pearl is walking distance from CU's campus. It's safe. Lots of nearby parking with Sundays free and everything after 7PM the same. Short walk to the Farmer's Market. CU Stampedes are can't miss pep rallies. Fun street performers. Ice cream, gelato, snacks. Great restaurants. Free WiFi. It is one of many reasons why I love living here, and adds a smile to my face each time I visit. read more
