I've been here several times over the last few years when I come visit friends in Denver. This is a cool art/gifts store on Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. It's in an old movie theater across from the courthouse. I always find something when I come here - earrings, incense, post cards, tshirts, etc. There's fun stuff, funny stuff, art, gifts, candles, etc. Something for everyone! Staff is helpful & super friendly. They've got fair prices as well. Definitely would recommend checking it out if you need a Boulder gift! read more

Located in the downtown Boulder/Pearl Street Mall strip, Art Mart is such a great place to go for more unique Boulder and general Colorado souvenirs, which I sincerely appreciate since I don't like the more "basic" or "tacky" kind of souvenirs. Right from the get go, Art Mart doesn't consist solely of artwork. There are way more apparel, jewelry, homegoods, tchotchkes, and the like than there is actual artwork here, which is why it's a great one-stop shop for souvenirs! My friends and I bought matching Boulder shirts here because the artwork on the shirts were to die for! They were the cutest and we were able to snag the shirt in multiple different colors with the same design on them, so they were matching, but also slightly more unique in their own ways. This place is a great stop at the beginning AND end of your visit to Boulder and Pearl Street Mall because trust that you will not find anything cuter! That is what we did - this was the first store we popped into and saw so many cute things we liked, but held off on getting anything because we had just gotten here. We ended up popping into nearly every single store that looked appealing to us up and down the mall and ended by coming back to this store to get our shirts because truly, we didn't find anything we liked more than that! If you're looking for gifts and souvenirs in the Pearl Street Mall, then the Art Mart is a great place to stop. I collect refrigerator magnets whenever I travel somewhere new, and I decided to stop here to pick one up. Little did I know that I would have a field day in here looking at so many amazing little trinkets and gifts! I was able to find a nice refrigerator magnet, but I honestly wanted to buy everything else that I saw in that store! The handmade bracelets were so colorful and bright. I especially loved the wine glasses with the funny wine quotes. If you know me, then you know I'm obsessed with wine. These wine quotes were so damn funny! I was literally laughing in the store. In addition to the handmade jewelry and funny placards, they also sell your typical souvenirs here like logo hats, shirts, books, and postcards. This was a super fun place to stop and shop around. This is such a great place to stop for gifts, especially if you're visiting Boulder and checking out the Pearl Street Mall. read more

This is where you should shop for your Boulder/Colorado souvenirs. There is literally something for everyone. There are the regular Boulder-themed souvenirs like clothes (go to the room immediately to the left of the entrance for the clothes section), coasters, mugs, and so on. Then there are the more specifically local artists' products, including traditional, metal, and wood artworks featuring the Rocky Mountains and other Colorado landscapes, different kinds of jewelry, glassware, ceramics, dog toys, and so on. Also, weirdly enough, an entire spiritual and tarot section, though I think some of the incense products are probably locally made. Side note, if you spend $50+, you can also buy the artsy sunflower bag that's usually $9 for $2. The Art Mart is one of the most central shops on Pearl Street, right in the middle facing that central square where the Boulder Court House is. Among the four blocks of shops and restaurants that are popular for tourism and barhopping, this is probably the most geared toward the aforementioned tourists. Especially as it's almost right next to the Downtown Boulder Visitor Center and the public restrooms (which are actually very clean). The closest places to park are the street parking along 13thand 14th Street on either side of this block (metered). Otherwise, you need to use one of the surrounding public garages, which are free on Saturdays and Sundays and have a flat right rate at most of them. And depending on the garage, it may be free after 6 PM. My guide has told me that you can also park at the Table Mesa parking garage for free and then buy a day pass to take the bus here. Overall, what I found most interesting was that they had these polymer clay animal statues done in the Murano millefiori style (where they press a bunch of colorful beads into a shape). (For further information, look up Fimocreations by Jon Anderson, they also sell these art pieces online.) Very gorgeous, rather expensive. But it does summarily exemplify how it's a huge store with a large variety of products to look through. I basically got all my family's souvenirs and even some friends' birthday presents here. This spot is located in the Pearl Street Mall. It's is a great store for out of towners or visitors & tourists. A shop to buy souvenirs or sentimental little things. This place supports local artists and some jewelry made by moms that work at home! I had to buy something from here. The jewelry and other items are so beautifully made! however, I think some of the things in here are highly priced!!! I bought some necklaces that I think my nieces would love and funny socks. My friend bought a beautiful necklace. I can spend hours just looking g at the jewelry in here. They also have some shirts, mugs, and home decor items. One of the best stores on the Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall, a truly unique combination of local arts and crafts, something for everyone in this large store. Located immediately across from the Boulder Courthouse in the middle of Pearl Street between 13th and 14th Streets, it's in a vibrant downtown area. There is plenty of nearby public parking, and it is easily accessible from the Boulder Transit Center, which is a block away. They stay open later than most of the Pearl Street stores. Great Boulder and Colorado-themed artwork, terrific greeting cards, one-of-a-kind photo displays, fun buttons, jewelry, along with fun mugs and pet wear. Might seem a bit touristy, but I visit this store weekly for random gifts and personal items. They do a great job rotating stock, and debuting items, so every visit is unique. They've really upgraded their adjacent store front, adding hilarious themed socks, and you could spend a lot of time getting the right footwear for the right person. Bring your sense of humor to this fun store, and on top of it, they offer terrific customer service and great music. read more

Great resource for gift giving. I can't even remember how many earrings I've bought for my wife here. Locally made by area artisans. Prices are good and so is quality. Full of unique gifts. Everything from celtic to funky to boulder hippy (even though Boulder is being overrun by yuppies). Yet another place to bring visiting folks and it's right on the Pearl Street Mall. It was spring in Boulder yesterday and the Pearl Street Mall was packed. I'm one of those people not afraid to pick my way along the bricks in the snow but this was so much nicer. I stopped in to browse and I see that though the store is so much smaller than in it's heyday, it still has a good selection. I saw some new artists's work worth remembering for later. Art Mart intrigued me as I was looking for a few unique gifts to take home with me. I had planned to ask three of my besties to stand up in my wedding and wanted to find a little something special for them. Art Mart had plenty of items that were clearly imported or mass made for the tourist type stuff, but also a large selection of unique and handmade items. There was a large table with bracelets and necklaces and it was in that area that I found handmade ones that I loved. I didn't find that staff to be rude or irritating at all- so that is an improvement over previous reviews I've read. They greeted you once you walked into the store but left you alone to peruse their wares. We looked at a few pieces of jewelry behind the counter as well and didn't feel any sales pressure to buy. It's opened until 11pm-- woohooo! Otherwise, it's another tourist shop, local art pieces made my artists and a boutique all in one. Came here and found a $15.00 1950 themed medication pill popper carrier for when I get cramps and anger on the road. I also bought a beautiful lunchbox with birds and I was kinda bummed that wasn't locally made. It was otherwise produced in China. EW. Let's stop this madness. The shop has lots of knickknacks that say "Colorado, Boulder, 420," just stuff like that. The staff is very chill-- mostly young college kids and kids in their 20's. I think some of the stuff is overpriced and not locally made so that itself bummed me out. However, It is a local business, so I understand that pricing mechanism. This store is great, wonderful and recommended for tourists mainly. But it doesn't hurt if I bought myself a Boulder, Colorado Painting from here. read more

Tonight, as I strolled by, some scarves caught my eye and I stopped in. I was surprised that the price was so low until I saw "100% acrylic Made in China" on the tag. I want to support local small businesses, and through them - local artists and craftspeople, which is what you say you're about... A wonderful staple on the Pearl Street mall. Much bigger than it appears on the outside. It's my second or third visit here. This is great place for any gift really. Photography, paintings, earrings, other jewelry, unique gift cards, and other very cool knic knacs. I could spend hours perusing this store for must have items and little gems for great gifts. I am so disappointed in the lack of Art Mart's willingness to help. I bought a piece of jewelry that started to come apart. I called to see what could be done or if I could contact the artist to see if the piece of jewelry could be fixed or replaced. Art Mart said I needed the receipt so they would know who to contact. After digging up the receipt and calling back with the information, I was told they could not contact the artist and basically, "too bad, so sad". While this is the first time I have ever bought anything there, I know I won't be back. I can't be spending money on things that can't be returned, replaced, or fixed, if not in working order. It's a poor policy even for an artisan shop. read more

This store has a great selection of custom items done by locals and overall a great store yet the staff diminish its reputation. The staff are inattentive and impatient when it comes to transactions. Example: I was charged 11x more for the item I purchased and was only acknowledged once the transaction was successful. No line, few shoppers, and early morning. So nothing aided this disaster. It's been a whole week and no refund has been processed. Potential shoppers please bring cash as credit transaction seem to be of little importance. read more

What has happened to my tried and true Art Mart?!?!?! There are like 1/4 less artists showing, and the quality of the jewelry has gone down SO much in the last couple of years. I don't know what is wrong?!?! I remember an Art Mart busting at the seams with incredible pieces of natural art, photography and Boulder spirit. But it seems that a lot of it is gone. This shop is a sweet shop to visit while down on Pearl. The employees are nice and the items they sell are usually locally made art and pictures taken by a bunch of different artists. This is the first place I go for buying gifts. I love sending creations by local artists back to the East Coast. And the vendors that they have at Art Mart are great and diverse - where you can find something for almost any adult. Art Mart is family owned and the staff is very friendly and informed about the art. Always a pleasant experience. read more

Be aware that this store does not allow returns or exchanges. My aunt bought a purse then saw one on the way out she preferred. They have a policy that prevented the clerk from taking any return or exchange. The sales people were nice, but the policy is ridiculous. We hadn't even left the store. read more

I found rocks. Leave it to me, to find an Art store that sells rocks! There wasn't a huge selection but there were some pretty beautiful, possibly a little overpriced, pieces and I ended up taking one home. I unfortunately didn't have enough time to look at everything in the store but there was a lot of different kinds of items that I enjoyed. just had one of the stupidist experiences of my life. just went into the store and bought a postcard. it was 71 cents. i gave Isabella the cashier a dollar which she rang in. then i dug a oenny out of my pocket and said "here, i hate pennies, just give me 30 cents." she said, "no, i have to give you 29 cents because thsts what the cash register says." i told her that i was giving her the penny so that she could give me a nickel instead of four cents. she was adamant, "store policy." serious retraining in math, the fungibility of cash, and customer service read more

I purchased a piece of jasper at the Art Mart after the salesman told me that jasper is rare, found only in the Mediterranean. I took the piece home and did the google on the internets only to find that jasper is found in many places, including in eight states in the USA. No rare. They refused to refund me my money, even though the salesman admitted he did tell me jasper is found only in the Mediterranean. A no-refund policy when misinformation was given is not right. read more

For my birthday I received a necklace from here. The necklace was larger than I usually wear so, I went back the day after my birthday to try and find something more my style, which had been encouraged by the giver. I could not find anything, the store is now full of a mix of cheap trinkets made in China and very large crystal jewelry, and not much in between. When I couldn't find anything I told the two girls working there that I'd rather return the item (it had been purchased 4 days ago and worn for 5 minutes, one of the girls remembers the giver buying it). At first the girl told me I couldn't return it because I only had a gift receipt. I said I have the actual receipt, I can just bring that in. Then she changed the story to "well you can't return it anyways because this item was consignment." There were no labels around that artists work in the store that let the buyer know it was consignment. She then proceeded to explain to her new co-worker how to process an exchange in front of me, and to do an exchange you process it as a refund but just don't give the refund, give a gift certificate instead. So actually a refund is completely possible and easy for them, it just seems to be store policy that they won't give them, which makes me think the store must be a bit desperate to place holding onto your money above customer satisfaction. I expressed one more time that I was bummed it couldn't be returned instead, and the cashier says "yea sorry" without looking at me and then laughs with her co-worker. The necklace was expensive, so I think I'll end up going back to stock up on greeting cards with my gift certificate, but will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone. read more
