I like this place! Went to see Holy Wave on a random weekday. The food was good, the bartenders and waitstaff were cool. I'd definitely come back. Fries, 1 chicken & 1 cheeseburger slider, and the Pearl Street Lite Lager hit the spot! There's indoor/outdoor seating, standing area right in front of the stage, and blocked off restaurant style seating in the back of the venue. It's small and perfect for bands with a niche crowd. It feels a little divey without being dark, dirty, or grungy. The show started at 8pm and the band performed for about an hour and a half. Perfect plan if you want to hang out during a work night! I tried to find parking along the street, but I ended up biting the bullet and went to a garage nearby. It was worth it; ran me about $25. read more

I didn't even know this place was here! I thought the waterfront only had The Anthem. Neat! My girlfriend invited me to a concert here -- they're a restaurant and bar as well, but I was only there for the show. Not sure how the shows affect regular patrons, but I showed up about a half hour before the show started. I showed my ID and ticket to the host, and went on inside. The venue is nice -- and the stage area is fairly small. There are several tables that can be reserved as well, but they're behind the standing area, so it might be tough to see the stage if there are any tall people. We enjoyed the show and I thought the sound system was good. There was no barrier between the people and the stage, so it felt intimate and I would go back. Went to see Benny G last night and O boy, he was awesome!!! I didn't really feel like going out it's been a while. I tell you this it's the best time I've had in years. This place is hidden. Though I have not officially dined here to review the food, I most definitely do not see myself returning again. I went to Pearl Street Warehouse twice: this past Thursday and last night. I mainly went there for two holiday parties. The first time on Thursday night, the people at the door was giving us a hard time refusing to let us in even though I was there to meet up with a friend that was going to take me home. I immediately requested to speak to the manager & he reluctantly let me & my friend in. We went straight to the bar to meet our friend. I asked the bartender for a cup of water. I guess me unwittingly overlooking the pre-made water pitchers annoyed him for working harder than he needed & he pointed at the pre-made water pitchers, not saying a word to me. I told him never mind I'll pour from one of the pitchers. He still decided to make a cup of water anyway despite my small protest. I accepted it. I tasted it & was immediately disgusted. It tasted & smelled like tequila. I am certain he didn't pour tequila in it, but the bar's tap pour must be so dirty or unfiltered from prior servicing, it starts to taste like other things BUT water. I even had my friend to taste & smell it to make sure it wasn't just me, and he agreed. I nicely let the bartender know the water tasted funky. Instead of saying I'm sorry I'll fix that or even just suggesting using the pitchers, he decides to try to make the situation more than what it was by trying to debate/argue with me and was actually accusing me of ACCUSING him that he intentionally tried to pour me something I didn't want to get me "drunk". I was dumbfounded at such an insane & random accusation just because I simply said the water smells & tastes like tequila. Nothing in that statement is accusatory towards him, and I told him I was not accusing him of anything. But I guess he was so upset from my minor complaint that he got the bar manager involved to "prove me wrong." The bar manager didn't seem to want to get involved but did anyway. The bartender decided to taste the water to essentially gaslight me & tell me it didn't smell nor taste bad. The bar manager tried it too & agreed with him. They were 100% wrong and unprofessional. I'm unsure what was the point of going out of the way to prove two customers wrong instead of simply letting it go, but I can assure you me & my friends will never return nor recommend this place. Based on other reviews I've read on here, I see that I am not the only one who has had bad encounters from rude staff and management and seems to have been an issue for YEARS. This might have been one of the rudest & nastiest encounters I've ever had at any establishment in my life. Trying to cause a scene with a customer over dirty water is a very bad look. I would highly suggest the staff, especially that specific bartender, to seek professional help & professional development in customer service. Beyond that very rude and insulting encounter, the ambiance was that of a dirty frat bar, area around the bar is very unclean & the floor is soaked in spilled drinks, so if you go there on a busy night (if they have those), be careful. The live performance on Friday was meh, but I think that was a band the folks hosting the holiday party chose. I also saw in other reviews that the talent they tend to pick are mediocre at best. I can see that being true I do believe Pearl Street Warehouse saving grace is its location (the Wharf). If this establishment existed anywhere else in DC, I am doubtful they'd still be in business solely from their rudeness/unprofessionalism. Hopefully, they will improve on custom service. read more

Perfect place to enjoy music and food on waterfront and plenty of places to visit. It's a great place to take date for the first time.

Initially visited Pearl Street Warehouse in late 2021/early 2022, then took a hiatus and came back in mid-2024. The quality of this venue unfortunately has... declined markedly. The shows are usually either D-list local cover bands and some C-list regional acts, which is understandable as the venue isn't huge. The audience tends to be much older than the Wharf standard though, and the nature of the acts reflect this. The food quality and drink selection can also be described as mediocre at best. The falafel sandwich I had on my last visit was edible but not very enjoyable for the price; the bun it was served on crumbled easily, making the experience extremely messy and complicated. The menu on the website was also outdated, with several items unavailable, and it didn't provide an accurate view of the available drink selection. Finally, the production values were a bit lacking; balance between instrumentation and vocals of the musical acts were a bit off early in the performances, and sometimes fluxed throughout. I'd give them an extra star because the staff was friendly enough and the venue was reasonably clean, but as a Gen Zer, it really didn't strike me as somewhere I'd patronize regularly if the show wasn't free, and the venue's shortcoming were quite glaring. read more

Especially...you absolutely have to go when they have the groups night (next one is on April the 8th) so you get to see different groups just performing for fun but who are absolutely gorgeous and spoon entertaining! Also, some are qualitatively stunning!! Someone I know was performing, and I enjoyed the whole night and all the bands! If you need some entertainment in these socially distanced times, get on Pearl's mailing list because they are holding live streams of fun shows in lieu of actual concerts. And once the world goes back to normal, check them out because it's a fun venue. As with just about everything in the Wharf, it lacks character and feels very bland, but it's intimate and has solid accoustics. They have a full bar with table service during the shows, plus there's a small side bar that sells food. Several people were enjoying something to eat before the show we attended, though we didn't try anything. For seating options, there are tables and a small dance floor, and when the crowd is packed in, there is great energy. We saw the Chuck Brown Band here not long before things started shutting down for coronavirus, and they really put on a great show. In a sign of the times, they ended the show with "For the love of god, wash your hands!" Hopefully we'll be back out there agaim before too long! read more

LOVE the venue. BUT I speak for a few folks who live on boats and go to your venues a couple of times a week if not three and ask that you nix the boxed wine. It's awful and you can do better. The blend you had was passable, but the cans you have downstairs at Union are better than the box wine by a MILE. You're in perhaps the wealthiest mile of D.C. Show some respect for the patrons. Stopped by here for a drink with friends. I got their cider on tap. It was delicious. Service was quick as well. They have a bar that is connected to the inside but also faces outside. So you can hangout and mix with friends outdoors or you can take your drinks inside. It's a dynamic experience. They have bands/artists come play. There's even an upstairs section with tables for another viewing experience. This is a great place to stop by if you're hopping around at the wharf or looking to get a drink with friends. I came here for a show (ZO!, Tall Black Guy with Deborah Bond) over a weekend Parking/Getting Here You could take the metro (walk or shuttle from L'Enfant Plaza, or metro from Waterfront stop) or park in one of the garages. I opted to metro over so I can't speak on how the parking garages are at the Wharf. Every time i come there most of them are full or near full so I guess get there early if you're there for a show and hope your show doesn't coincide with a big show at The Anthem? Venue An intimate, neighborhood-bar type of feel with a split level, an ok sized dance floor (its not the only dance floor at the Wharf, not sure how that idea came about when there's several music venues with sizeable dance space at the Wharf). Bathrooms are clean and well maintained, staff is personable. Sound was great. I'd definitely come back to see a show here again soon! Drinks I had the "Pearl Punch" don't ask me what was in it, i'm guessing a little bit of everything? But it was a nice amount and was served in a huge (to me it was huge) container and lasted me for a good while, enough to where i didn't bother buying another drink lol. Service was quick and polite. I followed some friends here recently after an event down by The Wharf and glad that I did. I didn't know the show was free that date, but on the visit they had a band called "The Grandsons" playing and they were actually good - my first time hearing them. Visiting this spot gave me an opportunity to check out the place as it was my first time inside - whoever came up with the plan to have a free show after a big event in the area was smart as I now know what the inside looks like. I almost had made it here back in Dec 2017 as I had purchased tickets for a show (just couldn't attend). Their box office is to the right of the entrance (outside) and you don't pay any extra charges for tickets. The venue has 2 bars, one was opened to the outside on this date - pretty cool; the other had a TV you can watch - also above this bar they show the next 4 upcoming performers. They have an upstairs which I didn't check out as I was having too much fun on the lower level. When a band is playing and you are enjoying the music, I did not want to be sitting and that seems like the set up upstairs (tables and chairs). The place reminded me of the 9:30 club but on a much smaller scale. Drinks were good and the atmosphere seemed chill. I am actually looking forward to seeing a show here as I like the overall setup. read more

I love this place. The venue is on the wharf. It is a great event space. There are two bars, and upstairs dining area, seating around the dance floor and room to just hang. The place is actually bigger than it looks from the outside. The restrooms are large and clean. The staff is nice. There is a convenient coat check area. You won't be able to have a quiet conversation unless the band isn't playing. However it is a great place to just have fun. Metro is conveniently nearby. As a music venue pretty darn good - I like the space and the atmosphere (not as grunge as the 9:30 club - I had bene there recently). The event was the holiday blues a palooza, on 12/18/2022. I was there with my 2 daughters (oldest 30, youngest 22) to listen to some good music. The opening acts were good (Lady Larks and Moonshine Society) were really good. Bobby Black Hat joined a few songs and plays a really mean harmonica. The headliner (Knight Hawks) were ok, but we didn't stay long. Drinks form the bar were well prepared but pricy in my opinion. what caught me by surprise was Saucy Claus and a bit of a burlesque show (2 stripteases). well done, but I wasn't expecting it, and I will say it made me sweat a wee bit because I was there with my daughters. I get it was an 18 plus environment, but maybe a notice on the skin would have been appropriate. The girls' were ok with it and I was too, but just not watching it together. We didn't sample the food so no comments there. I'll go back for the music but not for the burlesque entertainment if I can help it. read more

During COVID, there wasn't a wait. We were seated immediately late Saturday night. The waitress was kind and very friendly. The food : everything was so salty! Jerk chicken was extremely salty, didn't taste any "Jamaican" flavor. Buffalo shrimp & the Vietnamese wedges had too much sauce. We spent over $130 on the food which consist of like 3 appetizers and 1 salad. 2 beers & 1 cocktail drink. Why was it $130? Well they automatically added in an additional "COVID" tip. One of the things I did not like about this restaurant was at the end, I stood at a distance away from the hostess desk which was located outside; I was facing away from the restaurant talking to my bf and the "bouncer" or who ever came from inside of the restaurant , stood outside the door, and told me I need to have a mask on when I'm inside the establishment. Of course I refused because I wasn't even INSIDE the establishment and was at least 6 foot away from it. Technically I was waiting for the waitress outside the premises. Earlier that night, the worker, he chased me down in the establishment to tell me the same thing as I'm about to walk inside the bathroom. Meanwhile, the bartender and the people at the bar was not wearing a mask at all. The food & rudeness from that one worker was a turn off. Pearl Street Warehouse is a pretty neat little venue. Nice for local shows and to be up close and personal with the bands. They have a quaint little outdoor area where you can still hear and vaguely see the music even if you can't get inside. Ticket prices are decent between $12-$15. I've only tried the Pulled Pork Tots, food wise, which were DELICIOUS! My only real complaint is the service. I had ordered a drink for a friend and when the bartender handed me the drink, I said I didn't think that was what I had ordered (since mine came in a can, which I brought with me up to the bar) and this was on draft. I took what she gave me back to my friend and she confirmed my suspicions. My friend went back up to the bar and explained that this wasn't the drink that was ordered. They gave her the can instead. When we went to close out, they had charged us both for that same drink, me for the draft that was returned and her for the correct canned drink. When I asked about it they said it was my fault for not being more specific about the beverage and that since I paid in cash they couldn't refund me... which to me, didn't make any sense at all. I just said okay, as I didn't feel like arguing over $8 but was pretty annoyed to say the least at their lack of customer service and the double charge in general. They didn't offer to give me another drink, since they couldn't refund me the cash, or anything or the sort. It was "tough luck" with some extreme attitude from the bartenders on the side. PSW is a small interesting venue, but I'll probably order drinks somewhere else, at the Wharf, before walking over for a show. Update: Not only did this happen. But, I did pay for two additional drinks with a credit card... Happened to check my credit statement today and they charged that twice too.... read more

This is just for breakfast. Nightlife here seems super nice but I have yet to check it out. Stopped in this morning to grab a breakfast sandwich. Pros: Nice staff is one of the stars, and the bacon egg and cheese biscuit I landed on wasn't bad. Everything cooked well. Mixed Bag: The egg and biscuit ratio to everything else made it a bit bland. Bad: Initially asked for this $8 egg sandwich on a bagel. I asked where the bagel was from (New York habits nudging in) and they didn't know. It looked like a standard sysco bagel from a distance. I then got the bill and while I expected a $2 charge for bacon as it was listed on the menu, I near toppled when I saw they charged an additional $3 for the bagel making this simple concoction $14 with tax!! Server apologized that the upcharge wasn't listed and I asked, "What kind of cheese is it? Cheddar?" and she said, "American". So I had to ask, "Am I paying $8 for a slice of American cheese and egg (plus some labor because of course I plan to tip)?" The answer is yes. I downgraded to biscuit immediately. The food is 100% garbage, the buffet is so bad it just felt like a waste of food like don't even bother if that's what the buffet is. I've grabbed a drink at this place during simpler times. I've always liked the outdoor area since you can catch a breeze but it's not as packed as the main strip on the water. I tried to bring two friends here last night but ended up leaving before being seated. I showed up with one of my friends and we both had bikes. I was hoping we could just keep them near one of the tables that had an enormous space in between it. When we walked up the waitress even suggested that table because of the space for the bikes. They definitely take COVID distancing serious here and the bikes would not have blocked anyone from moving. They were truly off and out of the way. We were about to be seated when an older guy came up and rudely started on about the bikes. His tone was that the bikes would somehow lower the vibe at this place (l o l). Most of the tables were empty and it's definitely not Dorsia, but whatever. The hostess helpfully suggested that we could keep them right outside the rope line, but he had an issue with that too (Funny, because I'm guessing he had zero ability to police this area since it's not part of their restaurant). This guy was such a dickhead that we ended up leaving. If you just flat out don't want bicycles near your property then that's fine it's your prerogative. I want to emphasize that the way this place is spread out it truly wasn't an issue (99% of outdoor areas I would never even try to bring my bike in since it would jam everything up). Even then, you can be polite about it and we would have gone and locked everything up and came back for some drinks/food. This dude's attitude bordered on incredulous and in the end it just cost him business. The hostess was awesome though and she should probably have his job. read more

Wow! What a cool concert venue. I went to a sold-out show and thought it would be overwhelming and too crowded to dance. However, I was very pleased to find out it was the total opposite! There was plenty of room to dance, drink, and be merry. There's an upstairs and TVs that you can watch the concert on! So even if you didn't get a good view of the stage (which is nearly impossible due to the size of the venue) you can still watch the action on a nearby TV. DRINKS: Hound Dog. A+++ Pimper's Paradise A+++ Holy moly! We drank a LOT here... we didn't mean to! You can tell we drank a lot because my pictures of the menu are so blurry! Sorry, Yelpers! You can still read it, right? The drinks were so tasty and the dancing was so fun that we couldn't stop ourselves. More of a personal problem but hey... this place makes a killer Mule. The cocktails are $11 bucks, and I don't believe there's a happy hour price. Keep that in mind so you aren't shocked by the bill (yes, like we were) but that's the price of a good time in DC... amitrite?! Anyway, would love to come back for another show. Okay, you've read the reviews so far, right? What is the *one* thing you've learned about Pearl Street Warehouse? Don't go for the food!! It's a bar, people, and a music venue, the food is expensive for what it is and not really worth it unless you are pressed for time or it's before a concert. So don't eat the food, please. And if you insist on eating there, you will be like every other person reviewing it, and leaving a two or three star review. I don't understand why people bother reading Yelp if they're not going to take it into account when they go out. Having said that, and wow, I do feel much better! We saw the cactus blossoms recently, and I thought the venue was pretty good as a live music place. It's sort of a combination of a self-comscious dive bar, with some cute little retro touches. It's pretty small and intimate; it was easy to get a seat--boy, do I hate to stand up when I listen to music. The ladies room was clean, and the crowd kind of eclectic in that older, white, affluent, ex hippie kind of way. I'd return there, I just wouldn't eat there. read more

We've seen The Vegabonds (Oh my God, they're amazing; don't ever miss a show!) 3 times there, and it's a great venue. It's pretty small, but has two bars and some seating upstairs that you can reserve. The food is a variety of standard bar fare, but it's pretty good. The sound was great, and since it's a music venue, that's what matters. Oh, and it has 3 stalls in the bathroom and ladies, that's important right? read more

This place would not let anyone in when it was this "packed," or in other words...empty. The bartenders and "managers" were unbelievably rude, causing some people in our party to never be let into the bar and others leaving. They specifically seemed to be against letting women into the bar, claiming a number of us who were unrelated to each other had "too much to drink" although that was not the case and we were just being vocal about how the number of people leaving the bar didn't seem to correlate with the number being let in. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at Pearl Street Warehouse (PSW). I mean imo typically entertainment venues have a very low standard re: food service but that is not the case with PSW. I ventured in from the Wharf about mid-day on a Sunday. While the outdoor walk up bar was occupied there was plenty of seating indoors. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. They have a comprehensive list of beers. The food menu is compact but what it lacks in volume it makes up for with good taste. The tuna sandwich was especially good with a large, thick, seemingly fresh tuna steak sandwiches between a tasty, fresh bun. The BBQ chickens tacos were also fantastic - moist and with a hint of Smokey flavor. I am eagerly looking forward to a return trip to sample the array of musical artists that they feature. read more

Came here to watch the women's World Cup final. They were severely understaffed. Management decided that it would be a great idea to have one waiter, and that waiter had never worked brunch before. A+ management there, y'all. Then 28 minutes into the game, we were informed that they ran out of mimosas. RAN OUT. During a regular brunch hour. Excellent management yet again. The Basics: I want to like this spot. I really do. In fact I have come more than a handful of times. Every time I come here, I want to ENJOY a beverage (or two) after a ride and a food, sadly, that has never happened. The Venue: The venue has two bars and offers a basic food menu. One of the bars has a walk-up alley opening and a section blocked off with standing tables. There is a stage and a decent amount of spectator space. The venue welcomes many local and smaller artists, and has a few B lost arrests too. The venue has great potential. The Location: Located in Washington DC's new Wharf district, this new hip location has plenty of tourists and curious residents visiting the area. Side note, this area promotes more of a Savannah or Charleston feel than DC. The Staffers: Like I mentioned before, I generally come here on two wheels. The first time I came here, the bar tender allowed me to place my bike in the empty bar area while I topped off my water bottle and got a beer. While there, the Manager came out in a hissy and told me to move my bike outside. The bar area literally had no one there, except me. After some minor protest, I left my half drank beer and departed. I should have learned my lesson. The next time I came by, I decided to check out the outdoor bar instead. Similar interaction... "sir, no bikes permitted outside this bar". WTF? "sir, you cannot stand at the blue tables, only the salmon tables, and your bike cannot be in this area". Again, some dismay, but I oblige and leave a half drunk beer. The Food: mediocre and overpriced Why 2 stars and not 1: I've been here about 5 times and 3 have been shit. The other two have been OK, not great, but not bad. I would avoid this place at all costs if you have a bike. If not, don't expect much either, but you shouldn't have any problems. read more
