Easy location next to the ball park. I tried to walk up to the bar to order a beer at first, and maybe I wasn't confident enough or didn't know the process, but I was fully ignored while the bartender was talking to another employee. I found a table and was able to order from there. Their standard beer was yummy. The menu was disappointing personally (I think too complex for what I wanted out of a beer garden? I don't remember exactly), but the fried pickles my friend and I got were tasty. I like the Toast tab ordering system. Our server was friendly and helpful. The beer garden ambiance is nice, and we were in the shade where we could see some TVs. Definitely a convenient place, but I might try to find something better for before baseball games.

I love the vibes at Dacha. I love the open space and freedom to move around and mingle with friends. Their service was cute and kind. I came during their all day happy hour on Monday. I wish the happy hour food menu was extended for more options. I ordered the steak sandwich i and it was pretty good. For the happy hour $10 price, I think this is a fair sandwich, but I would not pay full price for it.

Dacha is always a good place to go to have a pint on a sunny day. They host events from time to time as well, like small markets or watch parties. While the Navy Yard location is newer than the OG Shaw spot, it still delivers good beer and good vibes! The one thing I will note is the lack of bathrooms at this location; that's the only downside to me!

This is my go-to spot when the weather is nice and I want to sit outside. The beer selection is excellent, though the service can be a bit inconsistent at times. The food is solid--particularly the fried pickles and the soft pretzel, which are favorites.

One of the funnest atmosphere spots in DC. This place is great for a day outing with friends or family. It's near the water, everything is outside, and it all made for a great experience. The drinks and service were top notch. We had our two year old with us and the staff was so helpful with everything. We just had a couple of drinks and the pretzel. While the pretzel could have been warmer, the beer cheese and dill mustard that came with it were the best soft pretzel accompaniments I have ever had. I'm not sure what they put in the beer cheese, but it has a really different flavor to it that was delicious. Wish we would have had time to try more because all the food we saw pass by looked great. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and workers, this place is a must stop if in the area.

Our drinks-next time I must get the boot! I drank the cocktail this time.

We stopped in on a rainy afternoon prior to a Nats game to check out Dacha's happy hour. The beer garden was mostly empty so we were able to find a dry table. You order through a QR code, which is super convenient. A server came over to welcome us and brought us a carafe of water and glasses. We ordered a HH Hefeweizen beer in a boot and a cocktail called the Monty. The drinks were very welcome and yummy! For food, we ordered the HH steak sandwich and the HH burger. One came with chips, one came with fries, which we liked. Both sandwiches were really good, except the steak sandwich was a mini version. We ran into the same thing at Ghost Burger. I took off one star for this, because all happy hour food should be full-sized or it's not really a deal. Overall, I enjoyed Dacha and would go back. I'm really looking forward to them opening up in my neighborhood in Silver Spring, if it ever comes to fruition.

Such a cute beer garden in Navy Yard. I came here for a non-profit event and thought the space was the perfect way to get a large group of people together. Dacha is an indoor/outdoor space with small trees inside. The bartenders were very friendly. A good amount of their beers weren't on tap so it was a little hard to easily sample things but what I will say is there's a beer called zombie something and it was delicious! The pretzel that I ordered was a bit too hard for my taste but it got the job done because I needed a little snack. The beer cheese was very memorable. Will definitely be back especially as it gets into the fall and the weather is the perfect temperature.

I had drinks and food at Dacha and was pleasantly surprised. The wings were good and not dry and the hot dog was good as well. I had low expectations for the food but everything I tried was good! I would definitely return!

I mean what else is there to say besides dacha is unmatched with its delivery of outdoor spaces. Such a cool spot with lots of options for seating or standing. Little bar in the air stream and the food is still so good. Beer selection is nice as well as cocktails. Service is extremely friendly. Lots of tvs to watch and they do the best with the fans!!!! Like it's HOT let's keep it cool plz and they do! They have lots of bike parking out front. Perfect location overall 10/10 recommend.

Overall, the service was great! They really changed up the place and added a bunch of good additional things for it to survive in the winter! The decor is probably one of my favorite parts about this place! the crowd is a bunch right than most places, but overall pretty good

They have slowly made changes over the years that make this an absolute must visit. What hasn't changed: the outdoor vibes and string lights are as pleasant as ever, and without the crushing crowds and lines that typified this location in their early years, it is a much nicer vibe most days. In my first review, I complained that the menu was very light on German beer options. They offer far more now, including a beer that I do not believe you can regularly find at any other bar in the city: the Weihenstephaner Korbinian, the world's finest doppelbock. It is one of the most delicious beers I have ever had, and they have it here on tap for a very reasonable price. Another positive change: they have a kitchen now with a full menu of food options. Their giant pretzel is a classic, of course. If you're a weekend happy hour chaser, they sell $5 High Noons all day Sunday. One final note: the location is absolutely perfect. Baan Mae has opened next door to the north (a 5/5 dining experience, amazing Thai food), Ugly Duckling is across the street to the south (a 5/5 happy hour and cocktail experience), and Ivy & Coney is right across the street to the east (a DC icon and 5/5 dive bar and football spot), so Dacha is essentially the centerpiece of the perfect night (or whole day) out.

At late 50s, we were certainly at the top of the age spectrum; but we felt welcome. We had drinks and planned to have food, but gave up after the event and went to an indoor restaurant the next block up. The first thing you need to realize with this space is that it is an outdoor venue. Not a reason to lower the rating yet--just know what you're getting into. Yes, the Quonset hut is technically a permanent structure; and the cabanas are under cover. However, the hut is less than half the floor space; and the cabanas are all open-front. So dress appropriately. You will probably be shielded from the wind, but forget about climate control if it gets busy. So where did WG lose stars? Let's start with the bar. I asked for a Manhattan made with Woodford Reserve. What I got was a 2 oz pour of Woodford, neat. This was not a 'tall order'. If your bartenders can't mix a drink with literally two ingredients (...plus bitters, so maybe three), then you're just in the wrong business--minus one star. Also, they ran out of one of the beers on their menu. You're a beer garden. You had better have all the beers on your menu or some way to adjust your beer list throughout the day. The other star evaporated when we realized that there was nowhere to eat the food if we had bought some from their food trucks (...clever idea, by the way, replacing a fixed kitchen with food trucks docked to the venue). All the free seating--yes, you have to pay extra for the cabanas--are actual picnic tables. Unless you get there early or pay extra, you will have to stand (...in the weather) ...while you eat. Bottom line: ~$53 for a large mug (1L) of hard cider and a pour of whiskey, consumed standing up in 85 degree F weather. Versus next block: Two margaritas, one soda, one appetizer, two (amazing!) entrees, and one desert brought to us by a lovely waiter and consumed at a clean table while sitting on comfortable chairs in a 72 degree F environment for $122. We may come back to WG for a future event, but that will depend on the weather and our appetite for a standing-room-only experience. As for bringing friends? Nah--we'll just find a picnic table at a local park and skip the premium prices.

I was expecting chill beer garden vibes, which has been the case at other similar spots I have been to. Sauf Haus was definitely not that, though part of it was definitely on us for not doing our research. Others have mentioned the two steep staircases. I happened to be in an unfortunate position where I have a knee injury and was in a brace, so that was challenging. Now, that isnt something my friend had remembered about Sauf Haus and I didnt think to look it up, so that is on me. I was able to make it up, but it was challenging. It seemed entirely inaccessible for those who have a disability (permanent or temporary) that renders them unable to go up stairs. When we got to the top, the first bartender we encountered seemed to be inconvenienced by us ordering. The bartenders we encountered in the outside area and later in the indoor portion were friendlier/more helpful, though. There was also a day party going on with a loud DJ, lots of dancing, and a mister/bubble machine, which is seemingly a weekly event. Again, I did not think to see if there was anything going on, and there is nothing wrong with that - it just was not what I expected in going here. What was more concerning was that, in the 2ish hours we were there, we saw at least 5 (likely more) people get kicked out. Manyyy people that i saw were struggling to stand and had the thousand yard stare in their eyes. Several people threw up. One guy straight up peed all over the floor of the men's room. Oh, and both bathrooms are left entirely open, and the men's urinals are directly inside the door. So that is all just...exposed, which I have never seen in a venue before (even at the diveiest of dives). It seemed like it was reasonable for security to kick out the people that they did, but it also seemed like bartenders were heavily overserving. And, again, this was all before 6:00 p.m., so I can only imagine it gets worse after that. They had a good beer selection and sell most beers in both .5 or 1 liter mugs. We got the 1lb soft pretzel, which came out hot and crispy. I loved that it had several different dipping sauces with it. It was tasty and reasonably priced. My friend and I were going to both get a beer flight (as advertised on the menu), but they only had one flight board available so I got a cocktail instead. They do charge a 20% "service charge" during certain hours on weekdays and all day on weekends, but they make sure to tell you that isnt a tip and that you should still tip extra. I got a couple cocktails, so my $14 drink turned into a $22 drink after tipping. The cocktails I had (Strawberry Smash and Feel the Passion) were really good. Overall, I am rating Sauf Haus a 3 because we were not their target demographic. Those in their target audience seemed to be having a great time, and I could see myself enjoying a spot like this when I was in college. But I do think there is an overserving problem and they could do better on some other customer service aspects, too, regardless.

HAPPY HOUR: Monday All Day and Tuesday-Friday 5PM to 6:30 PM The beverage program is clearly the centerpiece of the concept. The cocktail list is extensive including drinks like Pisco Sour, Old Fashioned, Martinis, Sazerac, Champs-Élysées, and Lion's Tail alongside house originals. All signature cocktails are priced uniformly and the menu also includes beer, cider, wine by the glass, spirit-free cocktails, and boilermakers, while offering accessible options for different preferences. Overall, the menu reads like a neighborhood cocktail bar with chef-driven bar food: playful, nostalgic American comfort dishes paired with a serious and historically influenced cocktail program. The bartenders provide top notch service and offer great recommendations. My water glass is always full and they check in often!

Trouble Bird was the answer to my prayers on a recent trip, where I was looking to have high quality drinks and a laid-back NON-commercial vibe with my team. We liked it so much, we came twice in one week, and I was impressed at their ability to handle and be comfortable for a large group in a space that can feel intimate. The lighting is nice and moody, the menu available via QR code, and the WiFi free and listed with password for patrons to use. We had excellent service both times, by the two folks working each night for a groups of 6-8 each time. There was something for everyone from the nondrinkers to the beer enthusiasts, to cocktail aficionados like myself. There's an amazing happy hour deal, with discounts on drinks all Monday and reduced prices for a couple of hours on other weekdays; it almost felt criminal how generous the happy hour was when I've gotten used to paying $20 for a mediocre cocktail at other nearby establishments. And the cocktails here are really very good, probably the best in the area, except for their immediate next door neighbor. The group favorite cocktail was the Midori sour which was incredibly well balanced and refreshing, and the surprising crowd pleaser was the Hamilton Dry Float, which came in a creepy tiki mug presentation that we really loved. We had a couple of the bar bites - the spiced peanuts were well loved across the group but my person favorite food item was the blistered shishitos, which came with a great chipotle aioli. The bathrooms are extremely clean and overall this was a bar favorite for the group for our week of going out and socializing together. Overall this is a gem of a neighborhood hangout with really excellent cocktails and service! Will absolutely come here next time I'm in town!
