Im been a Pearl Vision customer for many years and today I can say I won't be back. It took 4 months for them to get my contacts order correct and they still want me to pay for them when everything was paid from the beginning. During the 4 month of waiting for my contacts I was calling them once a week as they keep saying that the contacts should be arriving soon and that they will give me a call within the 24 hours to provide an update on my order. They won't keep they promise and never call me back and when I asked for the credit for the old contacts now they just act like this is not going to happen and they don't need to give this credit but wants to take my old contacts back as they are not expired and intact. Very disappointed of them I used to love Pearl Vision but is time to move on. read more

I am a repeat customer to the Pearle Vision Crest Hill location. I have typically had fairly good and professional service; however, this year the service is horrible! The owner of the franchise assisted me and I found him to be incredibly rude. When he helped me, my lens order was supposed to be submitted as progressive lenses; however, when the order came in they were single vision lenses. The order then had to be resubmitted for the lenses to be corrected to progressive lenses. I was told that it should take between approximately 7 - 10 business days for the corrected order to come in. We are now past that timeline and I have called the Crest Hill location on at least 3 separate occasions to get a status on my order and received promises of a call back and the representatives do not call back. This occurred "twice" in which Dominic promised to call me back and never did. I just called yet again and this time spoke to Michelle who has promised to call me back to provide a status on my order. I will now await to see if she follows through after I have specifically told her of the repeated times that I have failed to receive a call back. When I attempted to escalate this to the Franchise owner, I was told that he was not in the office. Needless to say, I am NOT happy with this level of service. It is completely appalling and totally unacceptable. It is also quite disappointing that I have observed that their current staff appears to be made up of very-little-to-no racial diversity whatsoever (I did not see ANY racial diversity) despite being located in a racially diverse community. 7/6 5:29pm Michelle called me back and informed me that the "corrected" order came into the store but it is STILL INCORRECT and are STILL single vision lenses, when they should be Progressive lenses!!! Therefore, now she is stating that the order must be resubmitted AGAIN! My original eye exam and eyeglass order was done on 5/27 and it's now 7/6 and I STILL don't have my correct prescription order!! This is THE WORST customer service experience that I have EVER had with completing an eyeglass order! I would NOT recommend their service!!! read more

My family and I have been going here for over 12 years never had a problem until todays visit. I was charged 85 dollars for a contact fitting exam when it has NEVER been this high. They couldn't even explain why it was that much. They were unbelievably rude the service and treatment we received was beyond poor. On top of that when they looked up our history they told us we have been severely undercharged for years as if that was our problem?! That is all on them I was expecting to pay what I pay every year and wound up paying 85 more dollars.The fact that we have been customers for 12 plus years and thats how we were treated is beyond me and we will be finding a new eye doctor. They now have lost 4 loyal customers so I would recommend looking at different places before coming to this one. read more

My wife and I went back here for new exams and glasses. We had such a positive experience last time we had to go back. With crazy schedules it had been almost 18 months since our last visit, despite reminders from Pearl that we were due for updates. As soon as we walked in, amazingly Mya remembered us from last time that long ago. She gave us excellent service and attention, cleaning and adjusting our existing glasses as well as helping to pick out new frames that were very fashionable and affordable. We really value her opinion! Doc was great as always and very informative of their new state of the art digital technology. As he says, the only time he needs a pen throughout the whole visit is for clients to sign form regarding additional testing options. We wont ever go anywhere else for our glasses/exams. read more

Please don't go to this location.. I went twice and they didn't know what they were doing. had me standing around. Told me I didn't confirm my appointmen, told me I didn't insurance when I did. Resolved the issue and then they didn't have time to see us. Horrible customer service. will not be returning ever. read more

I walked in without an appointment to see about having my glasses fixed, they are a bit tricky as they are silhouettes and they are not new so no warranty, the optician wasn't in but the manager said he would try, got the kit out and not only did he fix them, they also fixed a pair I purchased somewhere else that were really beat up, and never even charged me. I had been finally thinking of a contact exam and after receiving some of the best customer service I've ever had, I will definitely go back there for that! Was a very camper when I left. I cannot say enough things about the staff at this location! They are also personal and thoughtful and more than willing to go above and beyond the call of service! After two different attempts with two different doctors at Rosin eye care I was prescribed something from a sci - fi movie. Couldn't see a thing! Dr. Leitz was not only able to get my vision to 20/20 effortlessly he was very entertaining as well! Ray was awesome helping with frames. Love my new glasses and the one year warranty. I wanted both glasses and contact lenses. They (the assistants) really worked with my insurance to get me the best deal for both, as my insurance would only cover one or the other. Pickup of glasses was smooth. The Optometrist was a little over the top and kept pushing extras I was not interested in purchasing. read more

Appointment made and went in for my exam. It was a very thorough exam. Well administered and well explained. Picked out my frames. Was not pressured to purchase extras but was informed about them. I think I got a great deal and was impressed by the entire staff for their expertise and professionalism. I was told glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 business days. While the service was fantastic, the real goal of their staff is to get you to buy a $700.00 pair of inferior glasses. After whittling away all the "extras" I didn't want or need, they were less enthused with me. The glasses I did get were cheap in every way imaginable. The lenses are cheap soft plastic garbage, the arms are cheap Chinese garbage metal the bows out soon after. The nose pads turn green in a month. Also, the eye doctor tries to get you to pay for "extra's" as well. Like a $40.00 digital picture of your eye that is completely unnecessary. Don't be fooled by the first class service. The end product is the real reason you are there, and that is a substandard pair of glasses at Pearle. I am going back to my old eye doctor where I paid more, but for only what I wanted and for quality materials! read more

The only way I would suggest someone going there is to have your eyes OPEN. Charges are added on without your consent. Their protection plan of $25.00 along with a Cleaning Kit of $14.99. I informed employee of which ones I wanted and when I sat down she had me set up for the most expensive plan they have. Glasses when picked up were NOT fitted correctly. Receipt is given only when you pick up glasses NOT at time of payment. At bottom of receipt it is in print No Refunds - In-Store Credit Only. At time of appointment requested contact for color only, no script, they refused to give it to me, only if I paid $65.00. to follow up with them. Will Never Go Back. read more

In the age of technology I find myself shopping more online and interacting less with local businesses. Recently I was reminded why human interaction and great customer service will be very difficult to replace with an internet experience and a cold call to a person in a remote location if you have any issues that need to be resolved. I ordered glasses online and ran into issues after doing so. Before ordering these glasses I had an eye exam at Pearl vision. Upon receiving my glasses they were obviously the wrong prescription. I decided to bring them in to Pearl after reading a lengthy QA page on the ear wear manufacturer's website. I knew either way I decided to fix my problem would likely result in an argument followed by a "I'm sorry, we can't help you". To my surprise I was treated like a human being. I had the pleasure of interacting with the store manager Ray. He was able to help me get the lenses in my glasses changed to the right prescription and two days later I was wearing them. Horrible experience!! Being on a fixed income, I purchased the least expensive frames I liked. When I got the explanation of benefits from my insurance, they had charged $189 instead of the $129. I brought the billing in on a Sunday afternoon. I was the only customer in the store. I thought it was a simple clerical error. Ray said they always do that. I asked for a refund of the difference and received credit for only $35 of the $60. I asked about the charge for the scratch preventative. I said it was offered and I declined as I am always careful with my glasses. Ray said it was part of their package (what???). I asked about the charge for a maintenance kit. He dug out a box with cleaning supplies. I said I never received it. He gave it to me and said they usually take names when they run out. No one mentioned it to me. At the point of sale, the sales lady told me I would have 6 months interest free with Care Credit. My receipt fromPeale did not show the breakdown of charges, just a total, what e insurance would pay, and what was my responsibility. When I received the second bill from Cae Credit, I saw they charged $4 interest. I called the credit card thinking it was a simple error. Oh no!! They said they charge minimum interest because my charge was less than $200. They said I would have to contact Pearle. I called and explained the situation to Stephanie. She said she never knew that and made no offer to right the wrong they made. If you like being ripped off at every turn and left feeling like a fool, then Pearle Optical in Crest Hill is the p!ace for you. read more

The staff at this location is great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. My husband suffered an eye injury and was in need of glasses quick, we got a same day appointment. They handled all of the insurance info quickly and with ease, which was great because we hand no idea what we were doing. Ray was training and not only was he patient with his trainee he explained every step to us as well.. even went out of his way to make sure we were getting the best deal. They had my husbands lenses in stock and we got the glasses the next day which was great, no more missed work! They even cleaned and adjusted my glasses and I wasnt even the patient! I am not sure what happened to this store in the past two years, but NEVER again. The Doctor and the Manager are very nice, but it took me 2 full months to get my lenses. First my phone number was entered into the computer inaccurately. I have had the same # for many years-somebody decided to change the area code. Then, the lenses themselves were the incorrect shape. When they called to schedule an appointment to have the correct lenses put on my frames, I told them I would have to wait for them, "Let me check appointment availability" -never called back. "We lost our tech and just got a new one" when I called to inquire why. Asked twice that adequate documentation be sent to my HSA administrator-not done and I was almost out over $400(yep, blind as a bat). I will never go here again. read more

I haven't worn contacts in 20 years so I decided to try them again. So I started with the 2 week versions they were ok but half the boxes the left contacts were bad. And each box is 3 months worth of contacts. So I go back into pearl vision so I can try another type. I am told that I have to pay for an entire new contact exam because you can only try a different style in a small window of time. The exam has nothing to do with getting a trial pair of contacts nothing changes. The whole thing is a cash grab I had to pay 111.00 to get samples of the daily and one pair of monthly. The whole time my contact lens script is valid. My family has spent a lot of money with this location and today was the last penny they see from me. All I wanted was to try the other type of lens anywhere else would have had no problem with this. I would exhaust all other options before coming to this location they are clearly corporate first and customer second. read more
