I have had nothing but positive experiences at Eye 2 Eye Vision. Everyone, from the receptionists, to the technicians, to the doctors....fantastic! On a yearly visit, they discovered that I was at a higher risk for glaucoma. They were able to work with my insurance to cover a checkup every six months, instead of yearly. I am so appreciative of the proactive approach they took in taking care of me. I would also like to give a shout out to Crystal, the technician who has administered my tests. I had a great experience during my visit at Eye 2 Eye Vision Center. This was my 2nd visit to this location; Dr. Bouton and his staff have always been great. Dr. Bouton informed me that my prescription slightly changed, and he didn't recommend purchasing new glasses at this time. Which I appreciate a business not trying to upsell me unnecessarily. I decided to look at frames in case I did want to upgrade. Cesar, a member of his staff, assisted me in looking for a new pair of frames. He was very professional and knowledgeable; he answered all my questions and I felt that he went above and beyond to ensure that all my questions were answered. I normally never write A review unless it's really good or it's really bad and unfortunately my overall experience with this office has been a complete nightmare. For as long as I have a worked in the medical field and have been a patient I have never experienced a doctor's office That refused to do their job. Such as; 1. The medical assistant and Dr. Beth Ann Svetland failed to provide basic and accurate documentation of my chief complaint and current symptoms during my initial and follow-up appointments. The lack of documentation later prevented my Workmans Comp claim to be approved. 2. The front desk kept ignoring my requests to call and confirm that my insurance was in network, and demanded that I pay the out of network costs, otherwise I wouldn't be seen by the doctor. My insurance was finally confirmed to be in network. 3. The back office refused to follow the instructions on the back of my insurance card, to call or go to the appropriate website to submit my prior authorization. I was out of my medication for almost 3 months, delaying the treatment for my recently diagnosed severe eye condition. 4. The manager simply covered up for her staff by lying about the progress of my prior authorization, aggreeing to charge me based off of my explanation of benefits while refusing to bill my insurance first. She defended their inappropriate behavior and showed absolutely no empathy towards my situation. A couple of weeks later I came into the office asking to speak with Dr. Svetland and the medical assistant who I initially saw, and about 4 more times again during my treatment. Since they failed to document any of complaints and symptoms until about the 4th visit, I wanted to see if they could recall any of the information that I gave them during my earlier appointments. As without any of that documentation my Workmen's Comp. claim would be denied. She stated the medical assistant no longer worked there, and that her previous notes could not be amended. Her solution was for me to see another doctor and "throw her underneath the bus" for not doing her job. 1 week later, during the middle of my treatment, I received a letter from Dr. Svetland. It said that she would no longer be my physician because "there are significant philosophical differences in our views of medical care and treatment. To make a long story short, I have been abandoned by my doctor in the middle of treatment for a serious eye condition. My upcoming appointments have been cancelled and I can only be seen for emergencies. They are refusing to complete any of the requested forms from Workman's comp, and I have been given barely a month to find another doctor. If this is what they consider quality patient care, then we have a problem! I can't be the only patient that has been neglected and tossed aside due to insufficient amount of staffing. I guess we shall soon find out!!! read more

Had an eye exam after glasses as a follow up. I was charged $111.94. my insurance paid the bill in full in June 2022 less than 60 days after my original bill. The following year-2023 I got a post card - time for another exam make an appointment. I didn't. 2 months later I get another request to pay my $111.94 bill. Next month same with interest. Finally I get a note from a collection agency for $180. WHAT. The bill was paid. Called the office and no clue. Called the collection agency- duh clueless . Said bill wasn't paid. Called my insurance and it was paid and they sent me a copy. I sent the copy to the collection agency September 2023. Now January 2024 I get a collection agency bill for $190. No Way. Called Eye2eye 4 times different days asking for the Dr to call me. Went on their Web site and wrote 2 separate requests. Finally 2 weeks later I get a call and she says the Dr won't call you and I need to send them proof of payment. Sent it 6 days in a row before they bothered to e-mail me back that they got it. No apology for screwing with me for almost 2 years. I'd never go there and wouldn't recommend them to anyone after the way I was treated.Besides all that - the glasses I ordered in gunmetal gray came black. read more

I'll start with the positive- the girl at the front desk that checked me in- she's the reason for the 2 stars. Now, the negative... the girl who took me back and performed the initial tests was incredibly rude. I told her I wasn't interested in having my eyes dilated as I had a negative reaction in the past and I wasn't going to pay for the other option because it wasn't covered by insurance. She quipped at me about how it's wasn't their fault if there was something with my eyes. Ummm, okay B! Now, if having my eyes dilated was such a big deal, then I would have expected the doctor to mention it. Nope, nothing was said at all. The B also told me she was going to put a dye in my eyes so the doctor could tell if I had dry eyes. She never did it and again, not a word from the doctor. It wasn't the usual male doctor, this was a female and I wasn't overly impressed with her either. I submitted my thoughts on my visit via a text received from the office & was never contacted Clearly, customer service isn't a priority and I highly question all the 5 star reviews. I had been going to this optometrist for over seven years. You would think you would trust the employees to give you the right information and not miss lead you I was there for an annual check up one of their employees handed me a sheet of paper for me to sign for some information to get sent to my insurance I seen that there was a cost for that. I told them I did not want to sign it. The employee said don't worry about it just sign it it's just a formality you won't be charged so you would think you would trust them because you've been going there for multiple years then you get a bill in the mail so you speak to someone there to see if they can resolve it and they tell you that there's nothing that they can do because you signed it, and now I'm responsible. read more

I was swiftly checked in and waited under 5 minutes to be taken back to the exam room. My entire appointment was completed within 30-45 minutes. I love this eye care center. Dr. Bouton and staff are great. I found this place on Yelp a couple of years ago when I moved near by. I have since moved again. I lived near Schaumburg now, but I like them so much I still drive here once a year for an eye exam. I know I'm crazy but it speaks volume. I've been wearing glasses since I was 2 years old. I'm now 30. I had Lasik in 2008. My point of sharing this is I've been exposed to several doctors and their staff. Usually the staff is nice and Doctor sucks for vice versa. It's hard to find both a knowledgable friendly doctor with exceptional bedside manners and a staff with great customer service. So when you find a place with both you have found a unicorn. That's why I drive sooooo far to come here. read more

I love it! First visit here. Called made an appointment within 3 days. At first Point of contact with all the staff, everyone was friendly, had a smile on their face, and explained everything. His assistant Angel, was incredibly friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Dr. Brian Bouton is young, friendly, and warm. (Doctors lack this, so I can appreciate when one has this rare quality) Explained everything as he went along. Addressed all my questions even gave me advice on LASIK and had a great recommendation as to who would do the procedure. Gave me a complimentary pair of day and night contacts and made sure they were a good fit for me. Even though I didn't need glasses, day of my visit, I saw they had a huge selection. Great service all around! The doctor was very personable and kindly explained what he was looking at/for in my eye "X-ray" in a way that I (in no way an eye expert) could understand. My entire exam was done in an amazingly timely manner! (About 30 minutes from the time I walked in the office) Someone helped me chose the right glasses and was very kind. Unfortunately the price for anti-glare came as a shocking surprise to me, $80 that they do not run through insurance, which I have great insurance so it probably would have helped. But it is much needed for my job and after talking to friends, seems like most places charge about the same for it. Nevertheless, the service alone makes the price you pay worth it. These people are so rude (front desk) my very kind parents that are Spanish speaking but understand English presented themselves to the office trying to make a appointment to have they're vision checked but the front desk ladies were really rude and ignorant to them. They unprofessionally laughed at there faces and told them to go back with a English speaking person in the most races rude way ! You guys can at least say it in a non ignorant and SMILE I mean you are front desk first impression is what counts ! read more

I dislike the people help you with glasses and benefits, they are not helpful at all it seems like they are more worried about making a sale than actually help and they are very vague when they explain the "extra charges". My six yr. old daughter was going to be put into glasses when we KNEW she had great vision because we tested her with eye charts ourselves. Doctors like this, want your money, they are scammers and have no problem ruining your vision to ensure they get that money every year!. Her new Dr., of course, told us that she had perfect vision. After I told her the old Dr. Said her eyes were in need of glasses, she looked quite perturbed. The same thing happened to me years ago, putting me through glaucoma tests, all the way around. A complete circus. I left there and found out he was a scammer. When my new Dr. shaked her head. I didn't have to ask the obvious and put her into an uncomfortable position, but I knew right there that this was becoming the norm with low-class doctors. I learned a lot and saw that coming when I went to eye to eye. I had many issues with these guys, but that was straw that broke the camels back. Had an eye exam on 1/22/13 and picked up my glasses on 1/28/13. On that day, I paid my balance and walked out of there with a statement showing me I had a $0.00 Balance. On 9/25/13 (8 months later) I get a bill from Eye 2 Eye stating I owe $21.25. WHY you ask? Because back in January, they billed my OLD insurance company that I no longer had. They billed them in January and again in March. Seven months later in mid August 2013 they somehow figured it out and billed my correct BCBS company. My insurance covered everything except $25.00. Eye 2 Eye as a "courtesy" discounted it to $21.25. Eye 2 Eye took no responsibility with this issue nor was an apology made. Their billing department made a mistake and did not follow through in a timely manner. They now want me to pay for the difference. What respectful business does this? Unfortunately, they have lost a patron over $21.00. Because my account is showing a balance, they will NOT give me my eye exam prescription. BAD, BAD business. I will NEVER go back there and NEVER refer any friends or family to them. read more

I had a great first experience at Dr. Bouton's Eye 2 Eye office in Joliet. Doctor Bouton and his entire staff were extremely friendly, place was super clean inside and out and there were tons of regular and designer glasses to choose from. My appointment was on time and my eye tests and exam was performed in a timely manner with little to no wait time. Dr. Bouton took the necessary time to explain the exam results in addition to explaining the anatomy of the eye. We went to Eye 2 Eye vision center on route 30 by Dennys. I do NOT recommend this facility for children. I was advised when making my appt for my 3 yr old daughter that I should bring my husband since she may need her eyes dilated. I scheduled an appt 4 weeks out due to conflict of their schedule and my husbands shifts. Came in filled out all the paperwork. Sat down waiting. My daughters named was called. We got up to bring her back and was told that only one parent was allowed in the room. I asked why we couldn't both come. The response was given with attitude that the doctor only allows one parent. I advised the tech that why my other child came in for an appt and both parents were allowed to come in. I said she's 3 not 10 where there is no reason for both parents to be apart of her visit. The tech again with attitude said "well only one parent per the doctor". I asked to speak with the manger and was told "I don't know what to tell you it's the doctors decision" I explained that there was no problem when my other daughter came in and both parents were allowed in the room and why should this be any different. The manger went to ask the doctor. We waited a good 15 mins for the doctor to come out looking pissed that he had to tell me he only wanted one parent. I again stated how last time was not a problem and the same response was "only one parent". After I stated that we will just cancel the appt and find a different doctor, the doctors response was "ok bye". Not a good way to run a practice and completely unprofessional. I cancelled all future appts for the rest of my children and will take our family of 6 to a office that doesn't see you as just a number and better customer service. As an office you don't recommend that both parents come and then tell them only one parent is allowed in the room when you allowed it at another visit. As a professional office that you should be, you don't just decide to change your policy and treat patients rude. As an office that sees pediatrics for vision screening you should notify the parents on the phone while making an appt that only one parent is allowed to be with the child. If both parents show up then you should notify them prior to having them filling out all the paperwork. This situation should have been handled in a better professional manner and it clearly was not. read more

Last week, I went in to look at frames at Eye 2 Eye in Crest Hill. They have a technically beautiful showroom. My problem is that their customer service was WAY TOO aggressive! I was in the market to purchase eyeglasses. I went into their shop just to just look at frame styles. I looked for about 10 minutes on my own. I didn't see anything that I liked. So, just as I was about to walk out the door, I was approached by two reps who obviously were trying to get my business. I told them what type of frame and color I was looking for. First, I didn't like being tag teamed like that, and second, they were asking me to try on frames that I have already tried on before I was approached by them. I finally able to "escape" and left their establishment. I immediately went to one of their competitors and made an appointment to see the Optometrist. I did this because of the over aggression of the Eye to Eye reps! I didn't want to go through that experience again! read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at Eye 2 Eye. Last year I had gone in for glasses and sun glasses. They tried several times and couldn't get my prescription right in either of the progressive lens glasses. I kept the sunglasses because the distance was fine but even after several attempts they couldn't get it right in my regular glasses. I got my money back for the frames but not the lenses. I recently went to LensCrafters in the mall (they have a 30 day money back guarantee)...they got the prescription right the first time and I got the glasses in one hour. The staff at Eye 2 Eye were courteous and seemingly helpful, but unfortunately I do not think they really know what they are doing. read more

I waited for a month for an appt. Then I called to tell them that I was going to be 10 minutes late because there was a terrible accident that slowed me down. They told me that they could not see me because they were double-booked. I thought I was being considerate in letting them know about me being late and then was told they could not see me. My husband and I have been patients there before and I was just shocked. What if I just showed up 10 minutes late? It wasn't my fault that they had double booked, nor was it my fault that there was a terrible accident. Will not go back because I believe this to be very unprofessional. I know when I was there the last time, I waited way more than 10 minutes to see anyone other than the receptionist. They have lost my whole families business and we all wear glasses! I waited a long time for you without notice when I was in your office, but you can't wait for me. Not cool! There are other eye doctors that will be glad to get our families business! read more
