I was told that the reason my lenses for my daily transition eyeglasses were discolored was the overuse outdoors and in the sun! While I had insurance, it only covered the first year. My eyeglasses were purchased less than 2 years ago. I was asked by the salesperson how often I wore my eyeglasses outdoors and today, I was told same by (I believe) the owner/manager. I did purchase a set of new glasses and the lenses alone are close to $1,000, same what I had paid for my earlier set. I am over 65 years old and have been wearing eyeglasses since my childhood. This was the first time I was asked if I wore my glasses everyday and outdoors! For a long term client, pearl vision should have been more accommodative since I believe the lenses were defective. At least they should have offered a discount for the second pair which I wanted to purchase today which they declined. Customer satisfaction should not be taken for granted. My dad recently picked up his new glasses and was having difficulty reading with them. We came in today, and Ming assisted with us. He was so patient, listened to my dad's issue and began to investigate and resolve his issue. He recommended my dad to have a sperate pair of reading glasses. He replaced the lens on one of my dad's old pair of frames that he no longer can use. In an hour, my dad was able to read much better with his new reading glasses, and he kept his other pair which was picked up not to long ago for distance. I am a returning patient, and not only did I receive extremely inadequate service from the staff, but I also received a three minute exam that felt absolutely rushed, and pushed to the side. Almost as if they just wanted my money and didn't care about my wellbeing. Not only from the moment I walked into the door and I didn't even receive the proper clientele introduction(literally not even a hello), after all is said and done I find out that they do not take my current insurance, because prior to the exam they were "too busy" to get me checked in the beginning and was forced to pay full fees. They were too busy to care about the client and too busy to even process a single thought in their own mind, im not even a new client and choose to never to here again just simply because they make you think they are over burdened and you are just another task on their list. The worker "Grace" even said to me herself that the place was understaffed, and I have to pay for the fact that you can't run a system properly? Number one advice to the client, and its simple please choose a different place or it will leave a sour taste on your tongue in the end. They knew I had insurance because they told me I had to wait until 2021 to get new frames. The saleswoman then told me my progressive lenses would cost over $500 because they are not covered by my insurance. I called my insurance company from the store and YES they are covered. I am then told the computer space progressives are not covered, only the regular progressives. I asked why they didn't recommend the progressives that my insurance pays for every year and she said " I didn't know you wanted to use your insurance"!!!!! Do you know of anyone who pays for insurance who doesn't want to use it??? I ordered my progressives, paid my 20 copay and called it a day. I visit this location every year when I have to see the eye doctor and get new glasses. They have an amazing selection of glasses, i'be been to so many glasses stores over the years and this one by far has the nicest frames. I recently purchased a pair of Gucci sunglasses and Gucci seeing glasses. I received customer service from Yazmen and she was such a doll. She was very patient with me because I am very picky when it comes to picking glasses that fit my face right. She helped me find the most perfect pair of glasses and I was more than satisfied. The lady at the front desk, Dorina was so sweet and civil, she was making conversation and complimenting my glasses choice. 10/10 will continue to attend this location. My lens popped out of my Balmain sunglasses randomly when I was at Whole Foods. I asked the retailer where I purchased it to help and they said too bad. This was the closest place to me, the lady took my sunglasses to the back, and in 5 min the lens were back in place. I asked how much I owe and they said nothing! Received my progressive Glasses at the end of January, couldn't see out of one eye, they said the access was off? They send them back to get repaired. Won't even tell you what it cost ins...anyway go back they change the lens to the brand I had before.. Comes back still can't see out of one eye, check vision they tell me wear them for a week get use to them, my vision changed so lens was stronger.... They tell me insurance company won't pay anymore! Called them, had my eyes checked at another place, my prescription in both eyes were to strong. Now they will not refund my money. I'm going to go pay "Wayne" the owner a visit! read more

I have been a long time customer of Pearle Vision and have always has outstanding service. I purchased a pair of new glasses and wore them home. My wife thought the frame was too small and we're not appealing. I went back to the store a few days ago for an adjustment. During the adjustment the salesperson asked me where I purchased the glasses. I told her at their store. She said, they don't fit you properly. Thirty minutes later I walked out with my ticket to pick up my new glasses in two days. Since then my puppy has tried to make several pairs of my glasses lunch and I had cataract surgery twice. STAY AWAY FROM PEARLE VISION IN ROSLYN!!! They are not honest with their customers and treat people poorly. 1. They had a 40% off full pair of glasses & frames promotion. My terrible salesperson said that it was no longer valid. I pulled the promotion details up on my phone and told her that it was still posted on their website with no expiration date. She made a nasty face and begrudgingly said she would honor it. 2. Their optometrist was not available so she made me an appointment for the following week. This was fine because the glasses had to be ordered and would not be in the store for 2-3 days. 3. The day before my appointment, someone called to confirm my appointment time. (they wanted to make sure that I was coming) 4. I show up a few minutes early to my appointment just so I could try on the glasses that were ordered for me. At this time I was informed that the doctor was not in today. She said that she called me the night before to let me know. That was a COMPLETE LIE. I was home the night before and never received a call or message. She then said that the manager called me in the morning (ANOTHER LIE) So then I decided I might as well try on the glasses that I ordered to make sure I still liked them. Guess what...the glasses had NOT arrived 8 days after they were supposedly ordered. More deceit. 5. I spoke with the manager who did not care one bit about my predicament. So I decided to look at another pair of frames bc the thought of going somewhere else was frustrating. This is when the manager gets down right RUDE. He says I will not sell you glasses. WHAT???? I had always bought my glasses here despite their steep prices because I like shopping local. I cannot believe he would treat a repeat customer like this! There is a lot of competition out there and now there are online stores that sell glasses too. I've been a customer of this Pearle location since 1999 and have had nothing but positive experiences. For my glasses which I purchased from them in 2013, I wasn't happy with them, and they replaced them at no charge! They were very expensive glasses, too, with designer frames and premium lenses. Then, a few weeks ago, I accidentally bent the temples on my frames. When I took them to Pearle, they fixed them within a matter of minutes and refused to accept payment from me! Keep in mind that the frames were *WAY* out of warranty by then, and even if they had still been under warranty, the warranty wouldn't have covered accidental damage. Simply put, this Pearle location epitomizes courtesy, professionalism, and customer service. Ironically, they're not that expensive considering they're located in a very affluent area. Arrived at 1:55pm for my 2pm eye exam but didn't get to begin until 2:45. They completely wasted my precious time. On top of that, the lady who helped with lenses took another customer's call in the middle of an already delayed process wasting more time of my work day. I would think that the right thing to do is return the customer's call after my service is over. Left after 1hr 15 mins of frustrated visit with no purchase. But I have to say that the lady who greeted me and processed my paper was very nice. My last purchase was at Costco with no wait and undivided attention at a much lower price. read more

I have been to this location a few times, and I would not recommend. Employees of this establishment need training on customer servicing. I received my glasses and lens were not properly installed in frame in addition to a defect in the lens. The store employee stated she was doing me a one time favor (I am soooo lucky) to fix Pearls problem. In addition to the great customer service, any scratches or issue due to my fault will cost $100 dollars to fix/adjust versus Costco which is free for the first year. Note: I went to get my daughter glass and selection for frames are few for those looking to spend $130 or less (insurance coverage portion) on frames (my daughter is 5 years old, no need for high end designer frames).
