This place is...fine? There is really no value in complaining about them because they presumably have a contract to exclusively administer some of the tests offered and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. You use them or don't take the test. I thought the people were nice. They're doing a job that can not be fun or satisfying in any way. It's a repetitive, administrative task where you are also facing customers who can probably be rude. The test room itself sucked. The chair was uncomfortable. The computer was a little slow. And the desk wasn't adjustable in height so if you're tall then just get ready to sit with poor posture for however many hours you are there. Any why not provide water in the room? Is there a way to cheat with a water cooler or water bottles? I was there for a 4 hour test and would have appreciated being able to drink water without having to raise my hand like a kid in kindergarten. read more

This is a very generous rating. (for FL RE License test ) Frankly outside a blonde lady (about 50 yo). the rest of the people were rude and acted more like dictators more than anything else. The test center is okay. The exam is okay. However I couldn't stand the staff. Very rude. I tried to keep it light hearted and friendly and I get the opposite greeting. She yelled at me saying I'm violating her space, but wants me to use the hand reader that is next to her. I tried to be proactive and start showing her my pockets and yells at me telling me to pay attention and listen to her. I wish there was another testing center to use but unfortunately this is the only one with the time slot that I need. read more

They don't care if you only have a limited set of time between sections of a test to use the restroom that is literally on the opposite side of the floor in the building. I had my hand up for almost 5 minutes before the lady came over to let me out of the testing room. All she was doing was walking around the room and yawning. People here seem pretty lazy, rude, and don't have time to clarify what they are saying or answer your questions correctly. Also the testing center was pretty hot too. Maybe its because they don't let you take jackets inside the room or something but either way I had a migraine half way through the test and needless to say I did bad enough on those two sections to overall not do well on the test. read more

Not that you get much choice with testing centers, but this one was decent. Parking garage is around back off of Banner Dr, plenty of spots when I got there. The testing center was on the 8th floor down the hall a bit. It was busy and so there was a bit of a wait when I got there- around 20 minutes before an 8am appointment- but they moved through us quickly. I found the staff to be nice and efficient. You do need to get there early if you want to start right at your scheduled time. It was busy but still mostly quiet in the testing room; they do have headphones at the desks. Note that big hair clips can't be brought into the test room so bring a regular hair tie if you want your hair up. Also, only the test taker is allowed in the center and they will tell you to leave if you're not the one testing. read more

I took my GMAT twice - once in December 2016 and once in April 2017. The center was ok; however, my test administrator would not let me bring my light jacket into the room since she described it as a sweater. It was a hoodie. She also would not let me sit Indian style in my chair or cross my legs. She insisted that my legs had to stay flat on the floor for the four hour duration of my test. Although the test center was ok in accommodating me for my test, the female administrator I had provided me with an uncomfortable testing environment especially during a stressful exam. I would not recommend this test center for future exams. read more

I spent 6 hours here today for the FE exam. Customer service and facilities were outstanding. Everyone was super nice, even when enforcing the many rules, and the building was clean and modern. A few suggestions for taking the FE exam: 1) Show up very early. I got here at 7:45 was nearly the last in line so I didn't start the exam until 8:30. I wish I got there at 7:15 so I could've started at 8. (Not the staff's fault, it's just a long process with all of the security and rules) 2) Bring a big water bottle to keep in the locker. I feel so dehydrated from just the water fountain lol 3) Bring your notes in your car. You'll know what's going to be on the second half of the exam during your break- this is a perfect time to prepare! 4) Bring snacks/drinks in your car. Your break is long enough to go to 7/11 but you'll be tired, won't want to drive, and should spend your time reviewing anyway. read more

All the staff was very nice to me and calm. They operated in a concise manner in order to move people along, however, didn't rush me, etc. They were patient when answering my questions. The chair, room, etc was comfortable enough, too. I took the FE, a 6 hour exam with a break in between. I was allowed to go outside for the break (to walk and relax). read more

Site messed up and didn't schedule my test after I conformed and was given notice I did. Showed up at the place and time of my exam and couldn't take it. I was there almost an hour before my exam and was told "We can't schedule you for a test on the same day even though our system was what messed up. You need to schedule for a different day". Why can't I just take the test while I'm there. It makes no sense. read more

The building is nice, but the staff is so rude! It's like they expect you to read their minds. Older African American lady told me to place my eye glasses on the counter. Now once I take my glasses off, I can't see anything. I took them off and places them on the counter. She just stopped and starred at me. I was like what? Her response "place them exactly like the picture". Really lady? After the test, I raised my hand to ask if I had to complete the survey? Her response was "read the screen". Glad I passed my test and do not have to come back to this cold and unfriendly place! read more

I had a lot of issues with the proctor for my GMAT exam. I took my exam at the Dallas location at 12801 North Central Expressway in Dallas, Texas. The test room was on the 8th floor of a main corporate building, and we all had to wait for the proctor to come down to the lobby to allow us elevator access to the 8th floor. First, she checked our names off on her list in the lobby. I was quietly talking with another person there that said he was taking some EMT test and the proctor rudely interrupted me and loudly said, "I guess you didn't hear the rule about no yakking," a.k.a. talking. First, we were still in the lobby of the building. The entire building is not part of Pearson's testing center, so I don't understand why we weren't allowed to talk. Second, it was extremely rude. Some test takers may still be high school kids or whatnot, but many of us are PROFESSIONALS. I don't understand why she found it necessary to treat us like middle school children. When we went up to the testing room and the proctor sat me down to begin my test, I asked her if I could have another pamphlet of scratch paper, because the scratch booklet came with 9 pages and 5 of which were completely covered in writing. The booklet said "erasable", but I was unable to erase any of the pen writing that was already on it. The proctor said NO. She would only give me more paper if I ran out DURING the exam. This is completely unacceptable. The GMAT is an extremely time-sensitive exam and having to wait even one or two minutes for the proctor can causes severe disruptions and result in incorrect answers because of time pressure. This doesn't make any sense - I should have been given a blank booklet to begin with. I also lost time on my quantitative section because of the proctor. When I finished the verbal section, I was prompted with a message that said if I wanted to take an 8-minute break, to raise my hand and ask for proctor assistance. I raised my hand, and when the proctor came in, she asked me what I needed. I pointed to the screen and she said, "I'm not reading that," and asked me what I needed again. Once again, extremely rude and unacceptable. I then asked if I could take a break, she escorted me outside, then said "You are talking extremely loudly in there and disrupting the other test users." Once again, extremely rude! Because of this back and forth we had, my 8-minute break ran over by 33 seconds. Not a huge deal, but it is still unacceptable to lose time because a proctor wants to lecture me. She even came in during my exam while I was answering a question and told me I wasn't allowed to CROSS MY LEGS. Oh yeah, I've never written a Yelp review despite using this website for years. Pearson Vue Professional Centers?! Ha!! It should be renamed Pearson Vue UNPROFESSIONAL centers. The people who work here are rude with a capital R. When I entered, the office, I was walking towards the front desk when the big rude hispanic guy POINTED at me and YELLED, "Stop! Grab a number over there and SIT down!" I did not even reach his desk before he yelled at me. He did not greet me like a normal person with, "hello," nor, "good morning." Most of all, he pointed. Didn't his mama teach him that it's rude to point? Then, the big African American lady who was the guardian of the testing room told me to empty my pockiets, so I did. She then gives me this GLARE, "EMPTY OUT YO POCKETS!" she barked at me. "I already did," I replied. "How come I don't see the inside of yo pockets!" she yelled. I thought about it for a second...., "Oh, you wanted me to turn my pockets inside out? Why didn't you just say so?" She replied with a GLARE. I turned my pockets inside out for fear of an impending body cavity search!!! After I took the exam, some middle aged dirty blonde lady with GlOVES on greeted me, "You know, we had you on video while you were taking the exam." I gave her a look. So, what? I thought. I did not cheat so I have nothing to fear. Then she reaches for me with her gloved hand and I though she was going to force a body cavity search on me!!! "I just need our stuff back," she was referring to the calculator, pen, and writing pad she loaned me at the beginning of the exam. I breathed a sigh of relief and gave her the stuff back. Everyone here was rude, yelled at me, and had trouble communicating. Avoid these Neanderthals if you can. If you cannot, at least study hard so you'll pass the exam the first and only time that you take it so you only have to suffer through this torture once. The other Yelper stated that he saw security. I saw no security. The lighting in the garage was O.K. I don't know how well lit is at night because I was there during the day. However, no security guard seen and no security cameras seen mean that the garage is not very safe. Now, 30.06 postings are O.K. at the front door if they're clearly posted but here's where the Pearson Vue stinkers endanger womens' safety. There were no 30.06 postings, BUT they give you a legally effective notice just before you walk into the exam room. So, you'll have to fake nausea and pregnancy so you could leave the exam room just before taking the exam, run to your car, stash your piece in your car, and then run back up to the exam room. Mind you, there might be some thieves watching you stash something in your car. Plus, navigating that parking lot with no visible security cameras without your piece is not all that safe. So, yes, I agree with the other Yelper that the staff here is very rude and inconsiderate. If they had a 30.06 posting at the front door downstairs or on my testing ticket then it would've saved me another trip up and down 8 floors. It is not dangerous here, but the safety and security here is not all that good. Plus, the rude staff just puts this place at the top of my list of places to avoid. P.S. I am totally color blind and everybody of all races can be equally endearing or disgusting to me. The reason why I mentioned that the three employees were African American, dirty blonde and Hispanic is to prove that I really was there. It seems to me that often, when people write negative reviews, the employees who work there always try to challenge you and post on Yelp saying that you were never there. read more

The test center itself is fine but a few of the staff members were VERY unprofessional, disrespectful / rude. At arrival, Liz and Laura were there like drill sergeants directing people. Laura (older Africa American lady) was belittling people and literally giving people a hard time. People are coming here to take a major time and have these 2 employees stressing them out at arrival. That's fine that you've found a job that would have you but don't stress others out who are going into their careers. One lady there arrived with a light jacket on. She had surgery and still had the patch on her arm, No air was suppose to get to that area. Laura told here to "either put the jacket in a locker or miss the test; your choice". She was trying to explain the surgery but Laura wasn't hearing her and in drill sergeant mode. Laura would come and talk to the lady watching the testers and was so loud (laughing) that we could hear her. Alex (her manager) seemed to think because she's been there 12 years that she can do no wrong. Those are the ones that need the reminder that you are replaceable. Pick another center (if possible). Leave this one as a last option. read more

Scheduled here to take my National Board of Dental Hygiene due to its proximity to my house. This test is part of my license. It's huge. I was super nervous but felt good going into it until I walked into this testing center. I walked it at the same time with about 10 of my classmates. We all scheduled it at the same time for moral support and to get it done. The old Hispanic lady ( and I use 'lady' loosely) that greeted us was so rude I was put aback. The minute we walked in she started barking at the first of my classmates. Don't do this, do that, sit here, now sit there. "YOU DONT GET A LOCKER YET!" She actually yelled that at my classmate. She demands to see your cellphone to see if it's off. I wanted to refuse due to her attitude but I didn't feel like fighting. There were other people in there too beside us hygiene students and they had shock on their faces too. I couldn't believe it. The Hispanic guy next to her was much nicer I hear. I get it, there are rules. They don't have these kind of testing centers for any ol' rink-a-dink tests. But there's a way to talk to other adults. And she did it so poorly that it made my texting experience uneasy. That really ticked me off! She knows people come there for big tests and for her to act that way is extremely unprofessional and childish. Everyone else I encountered was fine. The gentlemen showing me to my testing seat was very nice and wished everyone good luck. One redeeming quality of this testing center. I hear they are much nicer at the center in Hurst. Quite a drive for me, but it might be worth it to have a stress-free, shout-free, pre-test environment. read more

The staff here is very rude and inconsiderate. Their website says to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the exam and states that the doors from the parking garage to the building will open at 7am. That means you have to arrive after 7am but before 7:30am if you have an 8am test. The "security officer" of the building was very rude saying that I needed to wait in my car until 7:30 because the elevators to the floor won't open until 7:30am. So basically if you have an 8am test you need to arrive at EXACTLY 7:30am?! I also was not permitted to wear a jacket into the testing center even though it was cold inside the testing room. I took a very thin zip up fleece with no pockets. Other women were admitted into the testing room with knitted sweaters. If Pearson Vue restricts the type of fabric you can wear then they need to specifically say that on their website. read more

THIS REVIEW WILL BE ABOUT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN LADY AS WELL and I'm posting here because for some reason Google is having issues posting my review. I was scheduled to take the MCAT a very hard and draining 8 hour exam. Already I'm nervous and to make matters worse the African American lady before my test began was rude, rolled her eyes and raised her voice at me in front of other test takers which completely threw me off and was embarrassing. Simply because I asked if I could get a noise cancelling headset which to her seemed like I asked a stupid question since it is provided by Pearson at your testing station. However I was not aware of this since it was my first time testing at a Pearson testing center. She continued to be rude to me throughout my test when I took my allotted break time almost seemed as if she was accusing me of cheating and I was inconveniencing her when I asked to be signed out to take my break . I thought it was only me that had this issue with her but after reading these reviews I see that some go back as far as three years and she is still working there I don't know why Pearson hasn't taken any action against her. you have students coming in taking MCAT's, GMAT's, DAT's which are very difficult tests and her attitude will definitely affect their performance. It for sure affected mine I got my test scores back a few days ago and scored 10 points lower than my practice test scores. I will go as far as to say that her behavior might be the reason for this since test takers normally score within +/-2 points of their practice test scores not 10 points lower and because of this I now have to retake an 8 hour exam but will be taking it at a different testing center. I hope Pearson sees this and has her fired so that future test takers scores are not affected. read more

After reading the past two reviews I was extremely apprehensive about going to take my test. I even mentioned to my wife that if I'm treated like crap, I will return the crappy attitude to whoever chose treat me that way. My wife informed me that people that go to testing centers like that are testing for very important tests, and that people cheat on very important test, so that leads to some ridiculous standards as to what you can bring with you. I was greeted immediately and very politely. The lady at the front desk provided me with a locker to put my belongings in. The lady who asked me to empty my pockets, asked me to turn my pockets inside out. The testing center area was a comfortable temperature. Maybe they were just surprised that anyone was coming in to take tests yesterday, I mean, it was 19 degrees outside and most of the roadways were covered in snow and ice. read more

I was late for my test because there was no sign facing the street that identified the building as the Pearson Testing Center. When I arrived, the woman was rude and refused to understand why I was late and offered no sympathy. She refused to let me wear my mask, even though it covered my mouth and nose properly, and insisted I wear a disposable mask because she did not like the fit of my mask. That is not stated anywhere on the website and my scarf-style mask is considered a proper mask according to the CDC. When I was about to start my test, I clicked that I did not accept the test by accident. I explained to the proctor that it was an accident and asked if he could reset my test. He went and got the woman who was rude to me and she would not reset my test, and said that this would count as one of my attempts and I would not receive a refund. The woman had absolutely no sympathy and grossly abused her power. read more

I took my GMAT here on December 13th, 2017 and it was a much nicer experience than I expected. The process of getting in and out of the testing room was not stressful at all. Parking was clearly explained. The staff were helpful, attentive, and nice people. They were quick to get me back in at the end of my breaks. Very disappointed by how rude the front desk woman was at the Arlington TX location. I think her name was Nelia (bangs, glasses, 50ish years old). The rude woman was no longer there when I completed my test, so I asked the new front desk employee who the morning woman's name was. She was very hesitant to give me the name, but said it might be "Nelia". No smile, no eye contact, and she ripped the plastic container away from me as I tried to place my keys into it and snapped "NOT YET"?? After one of my scheduled breaks, I went to the back room to check in and was told to go to the front desk to check in since Brenda was busy with another student and she didn't want to eat into my allotted time. As I walked to the front, Nelia snapped "go to the back to check in" and I explained that I was told to check in up front. Nelia proceeded to say "I'm clocked out sooo..." and then went to the back to yell at Brenda for sending me to the front. Her unprofessional and RUDE behavior affected my test taking. Bad experience after paying $500 to take the test. A pleasant, CUSTOMER SERVICE oriented front office person would be a much better environment for a student taking a test that determines their future. read more

This place was HORRIBLE ! Went to the one in Carrollton off Midway. The front desk lady was OK . She kinda polite, not overly friendly by any means. The lady who watches you take your test was Extremely rude. She raised her voice several times with people. Made you feel very uncomfortable. I was already stressed about taking my test by the time she got me to my computer my stress level was thru the roof. The staff treats you like you are a criminal,not there to take a test, ( I know they have to do these things, but it was the way they did it) , you have to be patted down , pocket s turned inside out, hand print scanned 6xs, they have you take off your glasses and check for hidden cameras 3xs, check your mouth for gum and candy, pictures taken, no talking in the lobby, etc. and DO NOT ask any questions or they will make you feel like you are an idiot !!! If you can avoid this place PLEASE do. There are other options for test centers out there. read more

I need to let you know about the terrible experience I had at Pearson Testing Center at 12801 N Central Expy #820 Dallas, TX 75243 (972) 661-5035. My child took a test at the named above testing center. Its located on the 8th floor of 20+ floor building. By the time test should have been over, I went upstairs to their suite 820 to see if test was over. As soon as I stepped thru the door, your employee that sat at the desk started to scream and shout at me "If you are not taking test, you can't be here!" She said "You can't even be in this building, you need to wait in the garage downstairs, in your car!" I got really offended by that rudeness! I am a paying customer of your and you need to show me a respect. She could say politely something like "you are not allowed to be here, please stay in the hall" but demanding for me to stay in the garage in my car was a terrible thing to say to your customer! I asked her to give me her supervisor name and phone number which she refused to do. I asked her to give me at least her name and she said its Gabbie and quoting her "If you don't leave, I will call police". Pearson Center doesn't own the building their office located in. This woman has no business in where I am staying waiting for my child. I pay her salary and I demand decent and polite service! This behavior should not be the norm in your business, I hope! I want to warn other people NOT TO USE this facility and take their kids and their money to more customer friendly place. read more

The testing experience here was horrible. I was scheduled to take a 6 hour exam. The weather was bad, but I managed to arrive 30 minutes prior to my start time as instructed. Upon arrival, I was greeted by very agitated employees who were upset about having to be there. They told me I had to wait for a decision from management on if I would be allowed to test because they wanted to close due to the weather. I was made to wait for 2 1/2 hours to be told that I would not be allowed to test. I understand safety is a priority and therefore would think that I would have been notified prior to me traveling and hour to get there if the roads were an issue. Or even upon arrival. These tests are very stressful and the way I was treated was highly unprofessional. read more

I went in there to take an exam and was handed a sheet of paper inside a sheet protector by a hispanic man with a mustache and a beard. I read through the paper and it basically said I couldn't have anything with me, not even my watch and wallet, and that I could either put it in a numbered locker or put it in my car. Once I was done reading I handed the paper back to an small african american lady who was also sitting at the front desk next to the hispanic man. The lady mumbles and fails to communicate effectively. I showed her my driver's license and social security card. Afterwards she told me to put all of my belongings in a small tray and put them in the flimsy lockers. I told her I would rather place my belongings in my car. She looked at me bewildered and mumbled in a way trying to insist me in putting my personal items and information in their flimsy locker. I told her I had read the paper instructions which stated I had the choice of putting my things in my car. Hesitantly she said okay and I proceeded to walk to my car. I had just taken two steps when she said, "Hey wait what are you doing?" I told her, "I'm going to put my things back in my car like I said I would, why?" Then she said, "Come here you look suspicious." I then asked, "What?" Afterwards she proceeded again stating, "You look suspicious." Amazed by their insistence on keeping my valuables in their flimsy locker and the paper stating they would not be responsible for "STOLEN" or "LOST" items, I further insisted on storing my things in my car, as I was beginning to doubt their integrity. Honestly they were the ones that appeared very "suspicious." The hispanic guy then joined in and told me, "You know you're being recorded don't you?" I answered saying, "Yes I know." Both of them seemed stunned. I had already read through my papers before the testing day that said you will be visually and audio recorded. I had also noticed the cameras on my way in. After exchanging glances with them for a while I went to my car, stored my things, and walked back into the building. The elevators take 5 minutes to move when you get in. And you have to get out at level 2 to get to the first floor after pushing the down button. Walking back in, the african american lady kept saying I "looked" suspicious. Having had enough I politely asked her "How do I look suspicious?" She answered with her same phrase over and over with the hispanic male agreeing with her. I then told her, "Do you think I have something I shouldn't have with me? Would you like to check my pockets and dig around in them?" She smiled awkwardly and said "No she will do that," and pointed to a 5' american lady in her late 50's. They checked and of course found nothing on me. Duh. Avoid this place if you can.
