I took it in on Friday with no expectation of a boat to be able to use over the holiday weekend. The techs got some initial findings, then called me to confirm I wanted to keep digging. I appreciated the offer vs. just charging labor only to then decide not to repair. They found what I expected, and here it is Thursday morning and I'm driving my boat back to my dock. They even set the expectation that it wouldn't be ready by the weekend, which I could hardly fault them for. I'm sure I'm not the only one with boat issues wanting to get resolved by this weekend. They far surpassed expectations, and the boat runs great. They sent me on my way with some future steps to work out in the carb and I couldn't be happier. I don't want to promise they'll always be early, but this first experience with them was spectacular. To be fair, it's pretty much the only marina on the lake, so using them again would be inevitable regardless. I will be comfortable if I do, because it's in great hands there.

Unlike some other complaints I have seen I understand why Tall Timbers only Services boats that they sell. It makes sense that they prefer to only work on established customer's boats. We were able to get them unlocked and limp the boat to the boat dock to unload the boat. I called Sherm's and explained our situation to them and they said to bring it on over. They were wonderful to fit us in and fix the problem. They even told me to leave the trailer there and go enjoy the afternoon boating with my family like we had all planned. He was very accommodating despite the busy boating season and was able to complete the job on time for less than he estimated the cost. The second time it was out of my skill set and he had to do some repair. I told him I had a trip planned and needed it ASAP. Earl said he had a gently used part at the shop he could use or he could order me a new one. I told him I was fine with the used one. Earl did the work and didn't even charge me for the part, just the labor. Just recently I was on Lake Monroe and the alarm was going off on the boat and I couldn't figure out why. After about 30 minutes of trouble shooting and my girlfriend yelling at me, I called Earl and he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and tell me how to fix it. From my experience at Quality Craft I'd say the service has been very professional and honest and I will continue to take my boat there for any maintenance.

Having served the Crawfordsville area since 1969, Tom's Marine has continued to better the community through their events and services. This is my third season taking my boat here, and Dave has always treated me so well. I've always felt their pricing was very reasonable, and they've always done their best to get my boat done as quickly as possible. This year, I called on July 1 and asked if we could go ahead and get the boat spring ready (later than I'd like, but we considered selling it so we had held off on un-winterizing). I let them know that I understood it may not be ready by July 4 as this is probably a busy time for them. Dave told me to drop it off and they would have it done by end of day tomorrow so we could take it out this weekend! I did have one major mechanical issue in 2025 that needed repaired, and they were very straightforward about what the issue was and what risks were involved with not repairing it; however, they did not pressure me to repair it and ultimately left it up to me, which I really appreciated. I also appreciate that when I am unavailable, Dave has always reached out to me via text, which is much easier for me to communicate promptly during work hours via text. Communication has always been prompt, and after the major repair, they actually brought the boat and met me at Morse to test the boat and make sure it ran fine. All around good, honest people and they have done great work for us.
