Ok... have you ever found a place that you weren't looking for, however... when you found it you realized you've needed it ALL your life??? Yeah... say hello to Pecan Jacks!! That was me last night. Let's talk about it. I was in the area for an event, however, I arrived a bit early and decided to walk up the street to check out Pecan Jacks. Now... I had no idea what Pecan Jacks was but the vibrant sign, clean window view into the inside, and elegant teal trim made me want to go, yep; I gathered all of that from the car as I drove by. Now, I walk up to the building and everything I gathered from the car was in my face and 10x better. Yet, the true experience wasn't until... (Drum Roll, please) I opened that front door!! Babeeeeeeeeeeee... I opened the front door of Pecan Jacks and was smacked in the face with the invigorating smells of vanilla, butter, waffle cone, and nutmeg. Yep... my nose was happy which led to my taste buds getting excited, which resulted in me falling in love and determining I had found my new spot. Ok... the wall. As soon as you walk in, the wall to the left is candy central. I'm talking gummi, sours, and chocolate. As I scanned the wall I truly wanted a pound of everything, however I knew I had to calm down. lol! But wait... I looked on the top shelf and guess what I saw!!! BRITTLE and best of all, variations of brittle. Oh yes. You know my secret affair with brittle was awakened and I had to scroll each flavor. Decisions, decisions. The Winner: Southern Pecan Brittle "Grandma Jacks old fashioned brittle, handcrafted with Georgia pecans and lots of butter. Pairs with beer or ice tea!" Forget what it pair with because the goodness of it all by itself had me slow chewing. lol!!! Perfect balance of sweet, salt, crunch, and chew. When you bite into it, you get the crunchy sweet brittle experience. As you chew, it transitions into a savory sweet buttery enhanced flavor thrilled nutty experience. Whew!!!! This thang is thangin!!! As I have found my hidden gem, I can't forget to shout out the amazing customer service, clean establishment, and vibrant lighting. The design theme of Pecan Jacks puts you in the mindset of a mini-getaway, and the stellar customer service makes you remember what southern hospitality is all about. Cute little ice cream spot that was definitely worth checking out. The atmosphere was nice, and the ice cream itself was pretty good. Unfortunately, they didn't have my favorite flavor chocolate chip cookie dough, which was a little disappointing. The only other thing I noticed was that the ice cream seemed to melt faster than at some other places I've visited, although that may have just been my perception. Overall, it was still a pleasant experience, and I'd be willing to come back, if they add chocolate chip cookie dough to the menu. I was here for a meetup with my closing attorney/colleague and I brought my little one along. She ordered the small vanilla in a cup and it was sooooo good! It tasted fresh and by fresh I mean authentic. At times, you can taste the fake ingredients in foods but this tasted fresh and clean. I ordered the dark chocolate almond cluster and mannnnnnnn! They ran out after I ordered two and shared them with my little one. They had milk chocolate but I wanted the dark. The customer service was top tier and helpful. The shop was more than clean! Pristine is the word I want to use! They have a liquor license so they have alcohol infused ice cream and they serve bear. The candy bar is robust and has an assortment of candies. I decided to buy a bag of gummy bears for my little instead buying by weight. It made economical sense to me. The gummy bears were PHENOMENAL and didn't taste fake like other brands, and I don't eat candy like that. My little one loved them just as much as I did! Wanted a treat just for me so I rolled up into Pecan Jacks on a chilly Thursday . Sampled a couple of flavors and landed on one that had peanut butter, banana, chocolate, and marshmallow. Can't remember the name . Very indulgent and met my sweet tooth needs (even though I dislike bananas by themselves). They also have a nice assortment of candies. After a walk around town, a nice night out with the kids, or even a first date, this place has both an upside and a small downside--but overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Starting with the downside: there are a few items that feel slightly overpriced. Not many, but enough to notice. That said, most of the menu is either fairly priced or even a great value when you consider how good everything tastes. When I first walked in, I had no expectations at all. What I found was a cute, welcoming ice cream and candy shop that immediately made a great first impression. The associate greeted us warmly, almost as if we were family. He offered samples of the ice cream and took the time to explain everything we asked about, answering questions thoroughly and genuinely. His customer service alone made the experience stand out. We ended up visiting twice during our stay in town for a convention. On the first visit, I tried the chocolate-covered graham cracker, which tasted exactly like a portable s'mores--sweet, nostalgic, and very satisfying. On our second visit, I went for ice cream and tried the blueberry cheesecake flavor. If you've ever had a frozen cheesecake from the freezer section of a grocery store, this flavor is spot on. It had the same familiar taste and balance, which made it surprisingly comforting and enjoyable. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely--five times over. If I were in the area regularly, I could easily see myself stopping in every single day. From the desserts to the location to the friendly associate, everything about this place feels welcoming and homey. If you find yourself nearby, do not hesitate to stop in. Everything always goes well! lol! The customer service is top tier! Every treat and ice cream flavor I have tried has been Amazing! My favorite two right now are key lime pie and blueberry lemon but it changes each visit lollll. I love the all the gummy bear flavors! Tonight I ordered from door dash and the packaging was really cute. I got the key lime pint and I tried the pistachio brittle which is now added to my list of favorites. Today was Pecan Jacks Grand opening in the west Midtown area. The shop is cute and colorful. A wall of assorted chocolates and candies will definitely catch your eye upon entry. Definitely a paradise for the kids or anyone with a sweet tooth. Everyone I encountered was pleasant. I sampled a few of the unique ice cream flavors before deciding on the Key Lime which was so good. The ice cream is made on site. They also have liqueur infused flavors that will roll out sometime next week, but I had the pleasure to try a sample of the Bailey's salted caramel it was pretty tasty. You must be 21+ if you plan on purchasing when they become readily available. They also have a few different frozen pints in the freezer for take out.
