No matter how many times I go to Andy's not what state I'm in, I always go in REALLY wanting to like it and come out disappointed. It's such a cute ice cream shop but the treats are never excellent. This time, we parked and ate on their benches outside. I chose Andy's as the special treat to celebrate my daughter's last day of camp and final performance. She had a shake and was happy about it. My husband ordered a banana spilt and enjoyed it, minus it not having any syrup on top. I ordered the shake that comes with espresso, but the espresso flavor was lacking. When I asked about it, they offered to remake it. My friend suggested they just give me a side of the espresso to add to my cup, to cut down on their work. The staff agreed to that but then when providing it, noted they needed to charge me for it. I paid without complaint but I really should've just allowed them to remake it as that would've been free. And here's the kicker: it wasn't any more flavorful after adding what they provided. Unfortunately, my take ways are: (1) I really should stop trying with Andy's; (2) I shouldn't try to save the staff time and energy when it comes to improving my experience. My husband thought his banana split was a 5-star experience despite not having all the ingredients he wanted. He, however, had the following critiques: we didn't get napkins, there are no tables, and the production is a little slow. I've been hearing great things about this place but I'm never in Toco Hills. The moment I did, I swerved my car so quick to enter their drive thru line to order a sweet treat. Not going to lie but I was a bit overwhelmed plus saw the calorie count on what I actually wanted so I just opted for a vanilla cone. I was shocked when asked how many scoops I wanted so I just said one - I guess this was a kids cone? It was around $3, which I thought was quite pricey for a scoop of frozen custard but the flavor on that was so good. It was rich and creamy and delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. I went here 2/15/2024 first time ever. I was on my phone on my lunch break and this place popped up on my feed on ig. After I got home from work and got showered I went to this location. I got the biscoff pint mixed with custard delicious! I initially went inside to the counter where the employee gave me 2 samples of the custard chocolate and vanilla. I got home and opened this up and proceeded to eat it. I intended on saving half for later. My mind told me to put it in the fridge but my hand wouldn't let me put the spoon down. Finally, my daughters and I was able to stop and try this new spot on Druid Hills. The place hasn't been open that long but it is very open and airy. We went through the Drive-thru which was very convenient. I got the Peach Concrete and the girls got Butter Pecan which they both altered to some degree and the cashier was very accommodating. Every time we've passed by this place since opening it's been completely mobbed and we haven't felt like waiting, but finally on a rainy weeknight with no one there we were able to try Andy's for the first time. I had the Boot Daddy Concrete which is like a DQ blizzard or a McDonald's McFlurry. The top was a bit melted perhaps due to the hot fudge and even the small size was large, and a bit too much sweet for me. In hindsight I should have just gotten custard (which I liked a lot) and one or two toppings. My bf had a concrete (can't remember the name, it isn't on the online menu) that had peanuts and pieces of their house made waffle cone. Solid custard place. The workers were really friendly and welcoming. I got the triple chocolate concrete that tasted like Hershey's chocolate syrup which isn't my jam. My first trip to Andy's was a few weeks after it first opened. The place was pretty hoppin' and I could tell there were some growing pains, so managed my patience accordingly, knowing there would be a bit of a wait. The cashier at the time was a quiet worker who didn't seem too engaged, so it was a bit difficult to complete my order over the counter, but I managed. As a note for the management, it might be better to put "louder" folks up front during busy hours, because the open room concept where the walk up window is can get pretty noisy with a lot of people (and dogs) in there and it can be a bit difficult for folks who are hard of hearing to order. I don't know if this is what led to this, but the sizes of mine and my boyfriend's orders were switched. On another note, this place seems to be very dog friendly! There's a picture attached but I saw lots of well-behaved pups while I was there. If you're someone who is afraid of dogs, I would maybe avoid going up to the walk up on busy nights where the weather is great. There is also a drive-thru option! For my first time I got a plain vanilla custard cone to get a sense of the custard by itself. It was VERY good and definitely elevated from my usual QT soft serve cone. My second trip to Andy's happened earlier this week and I can say it went much better. There was a new worker at the front and her attitude was great and I definitely got service with a smile this time. I opted for a vanilla custard sundae with waffle cone pieces, hot fudge and strawberry topping. As someone said in a previous review, the strawberry topping is definitely stored in a syrup of some sort, so if you don't love overly sweet strawberry topping or don't like fruit syrup, maybe opt out. Besides that, I have really enjoyed my visits to Andy's and I think it is a must go spot for folks looking for some late night ice cream. There is plenty of parking and bench seating around, and it's a great place to chill out for a few minutes and people watch. read more

Either way the frozen custard is coming in hot! Ok maybe cold... So I've been lucky enough to try the double double malt and the root beer float. What a whimsical experience, the flavors dance on your tongue, and maybe if you buy into the custard is better than the rest then you'll agree. I think the double double malt flavor was a great vanilla flavor and the float had a great chocolate taste. Idk what it is. But come here, I'll be back for sure. Custard man to the rescue! It was a hard decision because they have so many great sounding and looking(from the pictures) items on the menu. It didn't disappoint! It was great! LOVED my first visit to Andy's. Frozen custard invokes a lot of nostalgia for me, because my family and I used to go to get frozen custard weekly from another establishment that has since closed. I was beyond excited to see Andy's open nearby. I got the butter pecan concrete and it was extremely fresh and so delicious. I went through the drive thru, which was a bit confusing to navigate. They had a menu before the window, but no speaker to communicate with staff and order or anyone standing outside, so you had to order at the window. That seemed to slow the process down and I really hope they work out the kinks with the drive thru soon. Because this location is off of Clairmont and North Druid Hills, turning in and out can be challenging, but otherwise, Andy's seems to be a great addition to the Toco Hills area read more
