Honestly, I feel like a good ol' fashioned flower shop is hard to find! Well... i found one! Peck's flower shop take a lot of pride in being a local Vermont flower shop. The service is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the products are beautiful. I feel like most flower shops now a days have inflated prices and aren't very interested in really giving you a quality product unless you're spending a lot of money (and the flowers are over priced). Aren't flowers meant to make people happy... and generally flower shops are opened by people who want to share that?! At least Peck's has kept to this standard. They're more than happy to make you a fresh little "thank you" bouquet, to the over the top "i love you" rose bouquet... each with equal amount of care and character. Emily is a treat to work with, she's down to earth, and friendly. She'll work with you to put together a nice little bouquet you're picking up on the way home from work or something specific for an occasion. My review, comes with specific wedding flower experience. This can especially be a hard time, where the simple word 'wedding' increases price and stress. Not here, you tell them what you're looking for, no matter the vagueness of your vision or down to the specifics you have dreamed of, they can do it... and they make it an enjoyable experience! Combative behavior by owner when she learned an order needed to be canceled. She was confrontational in person, snide, and seemed altogether unhappy with herself and projected that onto me. A real unsavory experience that I'm happy to "return to sender". Wish I could recommend but I cannot simply because she is rude and unpleasant. No thanks. read more

I ordered a last minute, same-day arrangement from Peck's today. It was for our son and daughter-in-law to celebrate their third wedding anniversary. My mistake for forgetting to call earlier. The owner was polite and helpful and by mid-afternoon our daughter-in-law had already sent us a photo of the beautiful arrangement that Peck's had delivered. Peck's has always given me beautiful arrangements, the price is a little much but there is quality in the work. I'd say go here if customer service isn't important to you. I called in to order an arrangement for my mother and while I got said arrangement. I felt rushed and the woman I spoke to on the phone was very unpleasant. I've usually experienced the same treatment when I get flowers from here. That said, I got my flowers on time and they were lovely. I was horrified when I looked at the arrangement that was texted to me after the delivery had already been made. Everyone I have shown the pic to agreed what a horrible job they had done. I specifically asked for something bright and cheery. It was more a fall arrangement with certainly no specific flowers worth 70 dollars worth. Now I know why they don't have any prices on their website....won't be using them again. I used this florist a couple of weeks ago to send a sympathy arrangement. They seemed very accommodating as I stated I wanted something special since I would not be able to attend the funeral service. They were patient as I went through flowers I did not want in the arrangement and instead preferred a full arrangement of gerber daisies, green poms, hydrangea, etc. I was asked how much I would like to spend and I said "about $150". The owner asked if $160 was okay and I said sure since I knew there was a $20 delivery charge and tax. I felt confident I was in good hands. The day of the service my niece sent a picture of the arrangement I had sent...I was stunned. I live in the Boston area where prices are not cheap. I'm also well aware flowers are not cheap. But the arrangement that was sent was at best a $75-80 arrangement. It was lovely and included the flowers I mentioned but only had about 12 flowers!! My sister attended the funeral service and actually made a tally of the flowers included in the arrangement and was appalled when she heard what I had spent. I really wanted a good size arrangement to be sent as it was from my family and I was completely embarrassed at the size of what was actually sent. I called Peck's to let them know I was unhappy and honestly felt taken advantage of as I had mentioned I wouldn't be able to attend the services. (I can only guess they figured they had my money and I wouldn't be there to see the arrangement that was sent?) When I called I spoke with Emily (I believe she may be the owner but not sure). I don't recall her apologizing but she did give me a partial credit without saying much more than "it was actually a $125 arrangement plus tax and delivery, what do you want me to do?" Yes, I received a $30 credit, it just stinks that it was a SYMPATHY arrangement and I wanted something special, as I think most people do when they send a sympathy arrangement. :( Live and learn I guess. Maybe I should've asked for a picture of the arrangement before they sent it...? Anyway fellow yelpers, you've been warned. Buyer beware. read more

Peck's was great: told me which flowers they'd just gotten in, made sure someone was home when they got delivered, and created a lovely spring bouquet of hydrangea and tulips. I used pecks flower shop a few months ago for a flower arrangement when my mother in law passed away. They were great. Pricey but good. I just recently usd them for a funeral and the arrangement that we picked out was patriotic and we thought that since the price was over 200 dollars that the flowers would be more than a few carnations. We were deeply unhappy. I called and spoke to the owner and she was very rude and woukd not refund any of the money. And also some of the flowers were wilted the day of the funeral. I ordered flower arrangements for my mom's 80th birthday last week. There are pictures on their website, but no prices, so it is difficult to understand what should I expect for the money spend. Spoke with Jackie originally and tried to explain over the phone what kind of arrangement I would like for my mom on this important day. Communication could be better for sure, I asked if Emily, the owner that was supposed to make the arrangement and Jackie told me that I should trust her completely, could at least send me a photo of the arrangement before delivery and call me to clarify.. I just paid $100 with delivery and was counting on them to do their job and at least to communicate to me via phone or email. Well, had to follow up myself, Emily never called, no picture sent, after my brother sent me the picture I would say it is an ok arrangement but does not worth the money I paid for. Just a suggestion to communicate better, add prices to your website and maybe ask if there are flowers that people might be allergic for especially when you tell them that this is for 80 year old woman. I told mom to throw away lilys. Very disappointing experience. I don't mind to pay, but at least let me know in advance what to expect for almost $80 bouquet. This is not the first time I am buying flowers in my life, and it is surprising to me to see that flowers in Vermont can be so much more expensive than in New York. I've been ordering flowers from Peck's for over 10 years. They even did my wedding flowers and bouquet. I always trusted their work. But not anymore since the management/ownership changed. And most of all, their customer service is horrid! Don't bother- go to Price Chopper and get a $13.99 bouquet yourself instead. read more

Wow! Emily & Team at Peck's really went above and beyond to make my parent's 30th anniversary very special. The flowers were GORGEOUS, pictures didn't do it justice. Very unique and like nothing you could buy off of the internet. I am surprised by the $$$$ price range on this Yelp page, because I also thought their pricing was VERY reasonable. I have been ordering flowers from Peck's for years now. I live in NY and every time I call, they know exactly what I want and today Emily went above and beyond by delivering a bird feeder as well for me. On Emily's suggestion, I called Guys Farm and Yard next door, bought a bird feeder and seed and Emily offered to deliver it with the flowers for my mom's birthday, now that is service.
