I had the best time! I was invited to a birthday party for a dear friend and she chose to celebrate with PedalPub! The day we were to go, the rain was terrible and I got stuck in traffic for an hour across the bridge and was starting to feel down about being outside in the rain pedaling around town but my mood lifted immediately when I saw the whole set-up. The roof covers you completely and our pilot/guide was pumped up got us pumped up too. This is a unique way to get together with some friends and have a good time. I do warn you, this is a workout, especially in the hot Florida sun! Be prepared to sweat! We went with a group of friends from the North who were migrating to Florida for the season. There were about 15 of us in total. Our driver, Adam was awesome. He took us on a different route, as our group had done the Pedal Pub 2 years back. We were allowed to bring our own beers onto the Pedal pub and drink legally while on it. But once we got off though, we weren't allowed to walk on the streets with an open container. We hit a few bars, which gave us discounted drink prices with our Pedal Pub wristband. Overall, it was a great and fun experience. I would recommend wearing appropriate shoes, for peddling. This would be a great event to do with a big group of people. We had so much fun using the pedal pub for a birthday outing! The pedal pub can see a maximum of 16 people. We pretty much maxed out the limit. We were allowed to bring our cooler full of drinks on board and snacks. There's more storage in the barrel at the front of it, but we didn't need to use it this time. There's an area at the center of this pedal pub for anyone who wants to play bartender. From what I remember, this pedal pub needs a minimum of four peddlers (Two on each side for balance) to get the pub going. The seats in the back and a couple on the side have no pedals for those that just want to relax or can't pedal. It was a good work out for us since this is not motorized at all. We were able to play our own music from our smart phones via USB connection to their onboard stereo system. There's a charismatic hired professional (Pedal pub representative) at the front of the pedal pub to control the steering and brakes. Our pedal pub representative was so freaking cool! You have to make plans ahead of time for where you would like the pedal pub to stop. You're charged according to the amount of hours you would like this to happen. They let you sign a waiver once you arrive. Pedal pub representative was very good at providing us with the rules (at the beginning) and letting us know exactly what time to get back on the pedal pub in preparation of our next stop (each stop). It was such a good time maneuvering through parts of downtown Saint Pete and waving/cheering at everyone we passed like a group of lunatics. :-) read more

Wow what a fun time!!! I've always wanted to go on the pedal pub and we finally were able to get on it! Frank was an awesome host!!! It's BYOB so you can bring beer or wine with ice and they have a cooler to store it on. Also bring koozies to keep your beverage cold. We got to play our own music as one person volunteered to hook up their phone and play music. We pedaled as a group to St. Pete Brewery for our first stop where we got to hang out and enjoy a beer for 20 minutes. We got a wrist band and was told we would get a discount but we were disappointed to find out the discount there was only .50 cents. Next stop was Greenbench Brewery. We did not receive a discount there though either. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the outdoors and beer! Next was the stop at Fergs! Last but not least Frank was so nice and allowed all of us to stop at Cycle for the last beer. What a great time it was and I highly recommend it if you have friends to go with or have people come in from out of town. This was a complete blast! We did this as a going away party for my friend who is moving up north. There were 9 of us total. That turned out to be a great number to pedal. I felt like I was getting some exercise, but I wasn't dying. We brought a ton of ice, beer, and water. Don't underestimate bringing water if you are pedaling at 6 p.m. in May like we were. Pedalpub had a cooler that we used, so we just transferred everything to there. Drew was our driver and he was a ton of fun. Even though we brought a playlist, we ended up using his. It was basically all the songs that were on our playlist. We rocked out almost to the extent of falling off (which honestly, would have been really hard to do. Don't worry about your safety, it is very safe). We ended up hitting 3 bars and it seemed like the perfect amount. Drew gave us the option of 2 routes, a more leisurely one and a more scenic one. Since we all professed we are in great shape, we took the more scenic, but a little more difficult route. You will never notice a 3 percent incline like you do the moment you are powering a giant moving bar on wheels with only your legs. Again, it wasn't exceptionally difficult, but it was a workout! A ton of people took our picture as we passed by. It was like we were part of a parade. Of course my group of friends had to ham it up. Overall, this is a really fun activity. I would suggest it to anyone! read more

It rained for a bit at the beginning but the awning covered us well enough that it didn't deter from our experience at all. The cart is ok, dated from the other ones we saw. We passed 2-3 other ones that had seat backs this one didn't. 5 people have to ride and not pedal which is a bummer. Ones in Nashville had motors on them to assist people on cart this one is all you. From second we arrived we were told we couldn't use restroom and all the rules and restrictions which were endless entire time. We felt like we were on a stop watch. He told us there was another booking after us so we had to hurry, each stop we were rushed and told we had to be back for the next booking or we would be fined. The entire trip was about the rules and what we couldn't do or what others had done that got them in trouble or fined. and the city was watching them to shut them down. It was a huge Debbie downer. We were a bachelorette party and he made a crude reference about his "package" size in reference to the straws one of the girls were drinking out of completely crude. We asked to do less bar stops and he said he would have to reconfigure the route and that would be too difficult when we literally drove a straight 3 blocks there 3 blocks down a road and then 3 blocks back we could have ridden around the block in a circle and been fine he was just lazy so we sat on the side of the road because we didn't wa t to look at a mural on side of building for 1/2 hour. We asked to stop at a fun bar we passed and he said we weren't allowed to stop at that particular bar as they asked that the pedal bar not come back. You literally go a totally of 6 blocks. But the shining moment was when we pulled into the parking lot and were crossing the crosswalk legally and a truck pulled in front of us and we all thought the truck was going to hit us and be out his hand out to stop the truck and pulled it back right away when he realized who it was. One of the gals on our pedal cart reacted by flipping the bird low key at the driver and our driver yelled at her and said " NO, don't flip them off that's the owner of the building!!!" we said, "we don't care who that is they pulled in front of us as we were crossing the street on a bike and then on top of that they pulled into a handicapped stall while she ran into the business Quick as we all disembarked. Some of our riders took empty cans to trash can and other were gathering money and purses and some were walking to the parking lot standing at our car to go when the owner then came out got into her truck and had the nerve to drive her truck over to our car and angrily demand to know who had "flip the bird at her" as she had her son in the car with her. Our group responded apologizing saying sorry 1. first your son was in the back and we didn't see him obviously so he he didn't see it most probably it but 2. She had pulled in front of a bike crossing a cross walk which is illegal, and dangerous, especially when it's her own business 3. She parked illegally in a handicap stall to run into her business quick as if she is above the law and should know better but then 4. To go out of her way to driveover and yell At patrons who just spent a ton of money at her business during tough times I cannot imagine how awful of an owner she is to work for? our driver did a terrible job and didn't deserve a tip but clearly he was fearful for his job. In hindsight I would t have tipped him. He did nothing to enhance our experience at all and he looked like he had rolled out of bed and was somewhat miserable. I would be too if I worked for her. I would never ever give this women my business again. Clearly she has instilled fear in her employees by the shear number of rules that were pounded into us the entire time. It made the entire trip no fun and the cart compared to the other business was no where near as nice. Look up the other ones near by. They had seat backs were cleaner and frankly the drivers were smoking looked happy waved and were clean cut and we're stopped at fun bars. One of the bars we stopped at, we enjoyed it but you may not if you want people was a legit dog bar. 1/2 of the patrons were dogs. What a freakin' blast! So here is the deal: On Pedal Pub, you do all the pedaling and they do the steering. You bring your own booze and music and Pedal Pub takes you on a pub crawl through downtown St. Pete. We had SO much fun on the pedal pub. The guides are patient beyond belief (used to dealing with intoxicated people) and got us safely from place to place. Only beer and wine allowed (no liquor or glass). You basically bring your own drinks, name one of your friends to play bartender, and everyone pedals the "pub" around DTSP. A sober employee of Pedal Pub does the steering/maneuvering. The price was excellent and this is a guaranteed fun time! Awesome time! We are locals from St. Pete Beach, and this was our first time with Pedal Pub. Going forward, this will be the first on my "must do" list for anyone who comes to visit. The music choices had the 22 year olds from Chicago singing along and rocking out just as much as our party of four 40 somethings. Our driver, Adam, was excellent and took us to all the great spots around downtown St. Pete. You get great drink discounts at select bars, which the driver will let you know about and recommend but you are still free to choose whichever spots you prefer.
