A bottle of water and binoculars were all we needed. There are several American bald Eagle nest along the way, and we got to see the adults and some young fledglings. Tom, the owner, was the tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the birds, the Huron area, and nature in general. The bicycle seats are a bit uncomfortable; however he is removing them and putting in comfortable swivel seats after this season ends in October. I would like to come back next spring or fall to see the different seasons.

Our large group waited for over an hour, assuming they would honor their stated hours. When the owner finally arrived, she was snapping at us with passive aggress comments and deflected responsibility, blaming her "absent employee." Multiple locals passing by commented that this kind of delay is routine, with one man saying, "It makes me sick to always see people sitting and waiting on Vicky." That sentiment seemed to reflect a pattern, not a one-time oversight. What was most upsetting, however, was the owner's demeanor. She was not only dismissive and abrasive, but she made cruel, body-shaming remarks directed at members of our group in the most distasteful way. These comments were unprovoked, inappropriate, and clearly crossed a line. As someone who genuinely loves kayaking and was excited to share the experience with friends, this encounter left a bitter aftertaste and cast a shadow over our visit to Put-In-Bay. I strongly recommend choosing a different outfitter--one that values and respects its customers, and follows through on its promises.

Joe was easy to communicate with to set up the trip. He sent all of the info we needed prior to arrival. He was early and ready for us when we arrived at the marina. He knew the area and picked a great location. Everyone onboard was maxed out before noon. When the boat returned, he took the fish and got them all cleaned up. He met us in town, handed off the bagged fish, and we were on our way. It was a wonderful family experience. He had good recommendations for food and coffee shops nearby.
