I used to take my kids to a different location of this office, many years ago, and here I am returning to this Boynton office, for an odd reason. We go to a different pediatrician, but the only pediatric allergist in my health plan is a part of Pediatric Associates with an office in West Boynton. In order to see this specialist, it is required to see one of Pediatric Associate's doctors first. As in, they do not take referrals from outside pediatricians. This did frustrate me, but I went ahead and made the initial appointment with one of their non-allergist doctors, and this east office is the closest to me. Pediatric Associates has many offices across Florida, with streamlined processes and office management, which is helpful when trying to access things- and I do appreciate that. They gave me an appointment for the next day. On arrival, the check in process via my phone was simple, and it is nice that they have a well area in the waiting room. When walking to our room to see the doctor, two staff members were arguing loudly at the desk outside of our room, which was rather off putting. And the decor is crumbling a bit. The Nurse who saw us, Julia Guild, was awesome. Kind, knowledgeable, efficient: she put me and my kids at ease right away. The appointment was for 1 of my kids, but I asked the Nurse if she thought my other son might also have allergies, and she was kind enough to tell me this was probably. So, after checking out, I asked the office if they had any immediate openings to see my other son. Within a half hour, we were back seeing the same nurse. This kind of flexibility was so helpful! I would definitely return to see Ms. Guild in particular if I ever wanted a second opinion or was considering changing practices. Thank you! Started taking my son here due to our previous office not accepting our insurance. The location was what attracted us to this office and the fact that I also was a patient of pediatric associates in Boca. Location is conveniently located on congress next to old navy (and ulta and Marshall's). So far the pediatricians and nurse practitioners we've seen have been kind and helpful. We've seen someone different the last 3 or 4 times we've been in. My only complaint is the front desk staff are abysmal. Never a positive experience dealing with them. My most recent visit, my son was ill and in a lot of discomfort. As I was checking out, the woman barely spoke to me, I paid, and she handed us the printout of the summary of service. Struggling to get my upset toddler out of there, I just took it and left. Only to get home, check the paper and realize she gave me someone else's medical summary. The name was a little girl (I have a son) she clearly didn't bother to verify so much as the name on the paper. I ended up driving back since it isn't possible to call the office directly. When I got there, they were basically like, whoops, mistakes happen. I responded that this could have been entirely avoided had the woman simply verified my son's name, seeing as how that's what she gets paid to do. The point was lost on her. We appreciate the medical care they provide my child but I really abhor dealing with the reception staff. read more

Probably the worst pediatrician in the south Florida area. They used to be caring and used to try to help sick children. Now they out source all calls to India or somewhere in Asia or the Middle East and they don't even try to help kids get seen. I called over 4 times to get an appointment and each time, they don't have an available appointment. The purpose of a pediatric doctor is to be able to help kids who cannot always articulate their problems. Parents please AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS!!! They will avoid caring for your child and can only be available for well visits. RUN, RUN, RUN!!!! I am writing this review to help other parents like myself. Dr Julia Guild is amazing.I absolutely love the compassion she has for my daughter. She is so professional caring but most of all wonderful with kids. My daughter is a teenager and truly LOVES her. We were going from Doctor to Doctor for months and no one could find out what was wrong with my child. She took those extra steps in within a month we got to the bottom of it. NEVER AGAIN will I ever take my daughter here. Today, I called the office and was on hold for 10 minutes. Decided to drive there with my daughter who had a medium size gash on her chin from falling at her daycare. The girls at the front told me the soonest ANY of the pediatricians could see her was 3:30 pm! I said, "Umm, this is a bit of an emergency and to that, they responded that we could bring her back at 1:30 pm because "that's when we start back up again." Was it lunchtime already??? It was only 11am!!! I saw a number of patients/parents walking out during this time. Came back at 1:30, and the doctor (Yoyakey), says to me, "I wish you brought her in earlier, right when it happened." I told her I did, but the front desk said there was no availability and to come back later. She said, "I'm surprised none of the girls up front told us about your daughter." ??????? I said, "Why wouldn't they have?" and she said, "We tell them to say nothing is available because we get bombarded with patients, but this would have been an exception." They clearly don't have a patient's best interest in mind and don't know how to think out of the box. The front desk technicians are supposed to be there as a front line FOR patients, TO HELP. They treated us sub-par and I won't ever forget it. I will take my daughter, the most important person in my life elsewhere from now on. She deserves so much better and your kids do too! My Son was turned away today by the Office Manager because he was sick! I have a 4-month-year-old son who has been a patent of This office since he was born. On Sunday, August 9th, 2020 or son starting have several symptoms that were concerning to us. We utilized the companies virtual doctor visit 2 times and they both advised if he got worse in the morning we should to him to the office (Boynton Beach east) and see one of the pediatricians on duty. Of course in the morning my sons condition got worse so we went straight over to them. When we arrived we asked to be seen and were advised because my son was sick they could not see and in fact, refuse to see him. I was shocked and asked to speak to the Manager. The Office Manager Nadege Charles came out she again advised that since my son was sick they refused to see him and that I had to go somewhere else. Then when I got upset that my son who was ill and needed to see a doctor was being turned away she decided to set an appointment meant for my son at another location many many miles away from where I was and the appointment was 12 hours later. Needless to say, I had no other option than having to take my son to the ER at The local hospital. Why should I have to go to an ER when there were well trained and skilled doctors in the office I was attempting to go to. So a couple of things happened that tells me that the staff and specifically the manager were hypocritical in the way they acted. While I was there a another patient walked in with their child who was sick and they stated he had a fever was taken right in. Secondly, The same manager who so sternly stated that there was no way my son could be seen at their location called me and offered an appointment at 11 am 3 hours after I was already at the ER.me magical reason they could now see my son. For some reason, my son was denied service by a medical practice because he was sick. Can anyone explain to me what doctor offices are for if they don't take sick children? My family was dismissed from this office without any details. I received a bill on 12/26/23 and paid 50% of it online the following day. My husband took our son to their office on 12/28/23 for an annual exam. The staff member checking him in told my husband the balance in front of other people. He stated he wasn't paying the full amount at that time and told them I paid half of it already. The staff member said my son wouldn't be seen by the doctor unless he paid the balance in full. Apparently their billing system doesn't update accounts immediately. I also received another bill in October for services rendered in March... quite the delay. The dismissal is a blessing in disguise as your dismissive doctors ignored symptoms, prescribed inadequate medication (risked the health of my son's knee), and failed to diagnose my daughter with pneumonia (refused to test her urine or blood for infection). They've also blocked my email address so this is the only platform to post a complaint. Dr. Chang is the only great doctor in the whole establishment... Hope he starts his own office one day. read more

I came into their office with my child very sick. She had a fever and gastroenteritis and simply needed an Rx for zofran to stop the vomiting as she was getting extremely dehydrated. After spending over an hour on hold I came into the office. The front office staff was rude and told me the earliest I could be seen would be the next day. What is the point of having a pediatrician if you can only see them for well visits? After telling me my only option was to go to an ER, I asked for advice on what hospital has a pediatric ER. They said at first they didn't know, and then someone in the office staff chimed in that St. Mary's in WPB has a pediatric ER. When I arrived to St. Mary's in WPB, the pediatric ER doc was appalled that they sent me all the way up there, when it turns out that Bethesda East, right across the street, has a pediatric ER. read more

The nurses and office staff there are very sweet and helpful. They always take their time and explain in detail. I have no issues with the wait time. My low rating is due to poor service from the doctors. I feel like the doctors are always rushed and do not listen to the parents. I know that I do not have the same background and education as them, but I am a mother and I know my child. If I'm telling you that I've been noticing something abnormal, please take the time to listen or at least pretend to listen. They do not even look at the issue or do a physical examination to see what I was talking about. One doctor in fact never even took her eyes off the screen to at least look at me or my child as I was talking about the issue. It's downright disrespectful. I had to use the app to see a doctor about an issue I've been mentioning for a while. The doctor on the app listened to me and provided me recommendations, a referral, and medication. . I never write a review unless I have to, my appointment was at 9:40 and it's now 11:00 and they are just taking me in, they kept taking in people that had later appointments than I did, and my doctor wasn't busy and they wouldn't take me in. I was very frustrated because I was in a rush and wanted to get helped urgently and for a medical center, I think it should be fast so that people know you're worried and want to take good care of them. the only reason I give this place even one star is because of the staff. the staff was extremely nice and caring. when they were taking my blood pressure the nurse was so nice and she kept making jokes with me and I really enjoyed that because it made me feel like she cared about me. but one thing I would REALLY REALLY REALLY change is the wait time, I mean come on I have a 9:40 appointment and I get taken in at 11:00? the nerve these people have. read more

I love Dr Letsky from Pediatric Associates. I am a maternity nurse myself, so when my son was born, I already had an idea that he was jaundiced. I told her my concerns and she immediately ordered a bilirubin and got him started on phototherapy. We didnt have to wait long and were able to get my son home faster then if we had waited. Then later my older son had pneumonia. She called me up to see how he was taking his breathing treatments. The staff is always so friendly, and they service us really fast. Dr. Jakos was recommended to my family from my OB for our newborn. Since we are new to the pediatrician world we didn't know exactly what to look for. As soon as we met Dr. Jakos we knew that we would be in great hands. Fortunately we do not need to visit the pediatrician often and have visited for healthy check ups only. The staff acknowledges you as soon as you walk in the door and I've never had to wait in line to check in. The check in process is easy for every appointment and the wait time has been very reasonable. I have called the office one time for a medical question and the receptionist was so incredibly friendly, found the answer and called me back within 10 minutes. This location has extended hours for families that need care after normal business hours and allows to bypass an ER visit! I would recommend pediatric associates to anybody. read more

It's been really great , I've been w them for 20 years myself & now I'm taking my daughter there with my same doctor. Even with having my own kid they still manage to be quick and fast , use to be slower but they are most definitely picking up pace!!!! And dr.jakos is a doctor I recommend 1000000% my babygirl smiles every time she see him ... as for the MA they are to rough , I'm an MA myself I understand quick and fast but you have to show some love the kids that's why you chose to work with these beautiful children read more

Dr. Jakos has been the pediatrician for both of our boys since my oldest, now 17, was 2 years old. He is a fantastic and caring doctor. The relatively new east location is much quicker than the pediatric associates west location. I highly recommend dr. Jakos. read more

Never have had a long wait in this office. But I don't usually show up early or late though, and I have to say I miss Dr. Mayer she was an A++ Doctor we have had some other nice Drs. but she was SO great. It helps to have a Dr. you prefer with the PA offices or you get what you get for the appointment time you are looking for, which has ended up happening to us as a couple of the really smart and nice Drs. we have had there have moved on from what seems like a launching pad for some of them. I do prefer to see the female Drs. as I have not had a good male Dr. for my son yet, go figure my daughter had an awesome male Dr. through their Coconut Creek office years ago. The front desk ladies, and staff are usually very nice and helpful. I only had one that seemed edgy and a bit snippy, but then I found out it was not her regular office so perhaps she was overwhelmed IDK but we will keep using this office as it is also an office up the block from my son's pharmacy and has a new Publix a block over or Walmart ( across the street) for OTC items. read more

I give this company a second star ONLY because this review is not a reflection of the actual medical staff nor is it a reflection of the office staff directly working at the Boynton location. My experience with the location specifically was never an issue. The staff was always super nice and her doctor was amazing. Here is my issue. When i started with Pediatric Associates I was a brand new mother. I had my daughter five weeks early and subsequently was not afforded the time to properly decide who I wanted for her pediatrician. I had heard great things about Pediatric Associates and I loved their hours so I chose them at the hospital. The doctors who saw her at the hospital were great as well. I had no issues until she was about a month old. We had started with a specific doctor there who informed us she was leaving the practice shortly after we saw her the first time. We were assured she would be assigned a different doctor. At a month old I started noticing some gastrointestinal issues and was calling the nurse line for questions. I called three times and each time I was assured the pediatrician would call me to discuss the issues but I never got a phone call. I finally called and demanded to speak to an office manager. I asked her who the doctor was on file that they were paging and she proceeded to tell me this whole time they were paging a doctor to call us WHO WAS NO LONGER WITH THE PRACTICE. I understand this is a large operation and things slip through the cracks but there is NO excuse for you not knowing that you are paging a doctor who is no longer on your staff for a desperate mother whose new child has not slept in a month because of reflux issues. I do the insurance and intake at a very busy office and I would be embarrassed if something like that happened on my watch. The way patients are handled by the office staff completely dictates whether or not they would be willing to continue to be seen and there is NO excuse for having not enough staff to ensure infants are assigned doctors who actually work at your facility. Being a first time parent to a newborn/preemie is stressful enough. I decided after that if it did not change I would start looking for another pediatrician. They finally put the correct doctor in her chart. Our next issue happened when she started daycare. I called them and asked them to fax her shot records THREE TIMES over two weeks and nobody had faxed them. It got to the point where the daycare was telling me I wasn't going to be able to bring her back. I proceeded to send my husband in one morning to physically retrieve them and he was told they are not able to give them to him they need to be ordered and that they costed $5.00. He fought with them in the lobby of the practice because we had already requested them three times prior and they finally gave them to him. It was at that point I had decided we had enough of dealing with their irresponsible understaffed office and we are now going else where. WHEN YOU GET TOO BIG IT IS VERY EASY TO LOSE THE INTEGRITY YOU ONCE HAD IN ENSURING YOUR PATIENTS ARE CARED FOR IN BOTH AN ADMINISTRATIVE AND PATIENT CARE PERSPECTIVE. I SUGGEST YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE REVIEWS YOUR OFFICE STAFF IS GETTING AND MAYBE HIRE SOME MORE PEOPLE OR MAKE SOME CHANGES TO PROPERLY CARE FOR YOUR PATIENTS. I hope too many others did not and do not continue to have the terrible experience that we had. read more

I was here for an after hours visit this week with my son. He startred complaining og an earache when I got home and he was soon at the point of tears. I was able to make an appointment that night. Horrible service! I had a representative hang up the phone on me while I was asking for prescription to be sent to the pharmacy for a sick child with a fever who was sent home with no prescription the previous day by dr. Avens( spoke to her on the phone after the visit and she asked me what do I want her to do???? She was extremely rude and definitely should not be a kids Doctor! Do not go to that office if you care for your child, especially to see that doctor. read more
