It's been twice that I got unexpected bills. Basically the clinic does all the treatments they want and doesn't care what your insurance covers. After the check-up, they just bill you everything. Of course, they do ask you if you want the treatment or not. However, it's the PATIENT'S responsibility to know which benefit cover every year, every six months or no cover. If you don't know your insurance coverage, but you choose to do it. It's YOUR responsibility. They will not tell you this insurance covers or not because they don't look up ahead of time until they are doing their billing. They only care if they get paid. Same thing for returning. They don't care if you have previous records or not, and they don't want it. So, they can charge you if the insurance doesn't cover. Based on the billing lady said, "It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to know your coverage and which date what benefit you have used." The billing lady also said, "If you have any problem to pay in full, the doctors are very nice. They allow to make monthly payments." even though I could avoid those charges. By the way, the billing statement only shows the ending balance and doesn't have the detailed billing if the records of billing and the insurance payments are in different months. I guess I just had been so lucky that I didn't need to watch my insurance coverage so closely until now. Even though the doctors and hygienists are nice, they don't know why they cannot keep the patients because this kind of things the billing lady won't tell any one in the clinic. I recently pulled my three children from this pediatric dental clinic. To avoid writing a novel I'll be brief . The hygienist was ironically unhygienic . We spent more time waiting in the room than we spent with the hygienist or dentist. The hygienist didn't even attempt to clean or offer fluoride to our youngest. Just gave us a goody bag and sent us on our way. I would give zero stars if allowed. read more

I have brought my kids to Pediatric Dental Associates since 2002. The time and care, and safe environment they have created has been such a blessing when sometimes the experience with a dentist can be iffy. After having my four very different kids be cared for here I can't imagine a better place for them to receive dental care! read more

I have never had my kids at a less compassionate or kind dentist! We used this office prior to Covid but it since was sold to a different dentist and the office is nothing like before. One of my sons had such a traumatic experience he is now terrified and doesn't trust any dental staff. They were so disrorganized that when we came for a treatment the assistant had no clue what we were there for, started telling my 8 year old (not me) what she was going to do, and it was not what we were there for. To top that they then got snappy and rude with me beckare he was now upset. They knew he was on the spectrum and needed to be treated gently and that is not what they did! He left with 2 fat bleeding lips from the disgustingly impatient assistant and after maybe 45 seconds the dentist just left the room and was so rude! Didn't care for his experience nor his pain. read more

It has been a nightmare to get appointments scheduled. 8 weeks to get in for an infected tooth. I tried to get a few appointments scheduled and was told they don't schedule ahead but have a lot of availability. Fast forward to scheduling a secondary appointment. They have no availability and another 6 week wait for a child in pain. They have no set office hours and rarely answer the phone. All of my kids have been with this office since we moved to Eugene 8 years ago. We loved Dr. Ford and never had any issues until recently; My daughter had to see another doctor in town because she was in fairly severe pain and Dr. Drew was in surgery. No problem, we called PDA and asked that they send over her most current x-rays with any pertinent info. When we visited the other dentist, it became very evident that she had such a severe cavity she was in need of a root canal! The current dentist asked if we had not been to our 6 month appointments assuming thats why the cavity had gotten so out of hand. Additionally, PDA had mentioned that they were "watching" that particular area. The new dentist who saw her, flat out declared that he would have treated that cavity back in November when the x-ray was taken! Here we were in August and she had been last seen in June--yet nothing was done in either of those visits! I was completely taken aback! I called and personally spoke to Dr. Drew. I explained why I was upset and disappointed with the level of care. She was sympathetic and listened to my frustrations. However, she made more than one attempt to excuse her decision to not treat the cavity. I let her know that I was expecting her to cover the bill for the root canal, she unenthusiastically agreed. Yet, here I am, now having to cover the expense of a crown for said root canal. Thats $1500 out of my pocket. I believe any responsible business owner would have willingly suggested I send any charges incurred from her mistake to PDA. I'm far too busy and quite frankly, annoyed, to make another long phone call to encourage correct behavior. I would not recommend this office. To miss a cavity not once, but twice (even with an x-ray) which then causes the start of an abscess and severe pain accompanied by root demise, is reprehensible (to say the least). I cannot in good conscience continue to entrust the dental health of my children to this office. I stumbled on another post that was eerily similar that also cost that person some amount of money and frustration. I have left with my 6 kids, as a very unhappy patient! read more

I read the other reviews here and felt compelled to share our experience because it's completely opposite! The office is welcoming, the assistants are wonderful, and both doctors are kind and patient. All three of my boys look forward to their cleanings. Dr. Ford is thorough during their exams and always makes sure I'm in the loop as far as how the boys' teeth are developing, future treatment needs, and where they need to improve with their brushing/flossing. Yes, their office is busy but we've always been able to schedule so that all three are seen at the same time. Keep up the great work you guys! :) read more

Very disappointed with this office. My child has a disability and was referred here for a filling since our dentist was unable to provide nitrous oxide for pediatric patients. After waiting close to a month for an initial call back from Pediatric Dental, I was finally able to coordinate a day/time to get her in for a consult. Mind you, the office hours are limited to 1/2 days on Thursday, closed Friday. I arranged to get time off from work, picked my daughter up early from school, and was headed to the office when I was called to reschedule-Dr Drew had a migraine. Frustrating, but life happens. We rescheduled about 3 weeks later. Again, I arranged time off from work, picked her up early from school, and this time we were seen. I will say that the staff was very friendly and patient with daughter, which was amazing. I was really looking forward to continuing care with them. Fast forward to today, 1 month past the original consultation, the day we were finally able to address the tooth that has been bothering my daughter and is now breaking. Once again, the office calls to reschedule, Dr Drew has yet another migraine. Another day missed of work. Another day missed of school. We can reschedule the appointment about 1 and 1/2 weeks out-on a school and work day. Of course, no offer to be flexible from the office. No offer to squeeze her in on a sooner date. Very disappointing and poor patient care with no regards to other's schedules. I would not recommend this business unless you have 100% flexibility in your day to day life and can accommodate cancelled appointments regularly. read more

I have been taking my children to Dr. Ford here at Pediatric Dental Associates (PDA) for years now - probably around 9 years. It is will regret that I have to write this review. I will no longer be taking my children here. My daughter had an emergency two weeks ago. Red, inflammed gums around a loose tooth, swollen left side of her face face and tooth pain. Like - deep nerve pain at the base of the entire left side of her teeth. It was on a Saturday and we got in to see the on-call person at PDA. She gave us some swish stuff to help clean out bacteria. This did nothing - NOTHING! She cried all night. We did hot and cold compresses all night while I debated taking her into the ER. Come morning, on Mother's Day, my husband took her to the walk-in clinic first thing when they opened. 5 days of antibiotics and it was all cleared up, or so we thought. Fast forward two weeks and we are dealing with the same thing. I called Pediatric Dental Associates to get her in to see the dentist and we were told that they couldn't see her until Thursday (today is Tuesday). I told them she is in pain, she needs relief now, not on Thursday. We got into another dentist today instead, and after looking at the x-rays, it was obvious that her two baby teeth were fighting for space to fall out, and one tooth was pressing again a little tooth that was pretty much all the way out, but because of the other tooth, it was being held in place and allowing food to get up under it and causing pain and infections. Both teeth got pulled today - PDA should have seen that the two teeth were pushing against each other and recommended to have them pulled when we were in for cleanings 1.5 months ago. Long story short, we won't be coming back here and are very happy with our new dentist! read more

I would not recommend this place to any mother or father who truly cares for their child . it took for ever to be seen once we were dr Kimberly drew said my daughter needed some serious work and i knew this also cause she had been screaming in pain for weeks ! Well date was set to get her dental work done . they call amd say they need this and that so i take time off work to get them the necessary paperwork and dr apts needed due to my daughter's heart condition finnaly get to the last step only to get a phone call 3 days before saying they cant because and insurance issue tjey lady who was suppose to be the supervisor by the name of sarah was very rude and not concerned at all then when i called back was hubg up on !!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS here they arw hypocrites and extremely rude !!! Anx do not care about children ! read more
