If you call for an emergency appointment, make absolutely sure you are being scheduled to see a doctor at a specific time and not just placed on a wait list. Otherwise, you could waste months thinking you have an appointment when you don't. I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this office. I scheduled what I was told would be an emergency appointment back on June 9, 2025, for August 27, 2025 -- I waited 11 weeks and 4 days thinking I had a confirmed time to be seen for an urgent dental issue. When I showed up and waited nearly an hour, I finally asked the front desk about the delay. That's when I was informed -- for the first time -- that this wasn't actually an appointment, but a "waiting to be seen" situation. This was never communicated to me during scheduling or check-in. To make matters worse, I was told that real emergency appointments are now being booked into January 2027. How is that acceptable for urgent care? Well I thought they were gonna redeem themselves but they made it even worse then before.... Let me tell you the newest bullshit that this place did to f**k me. Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call letting me know that the dentist was still very concerned about me and the amount of pain I was in. She was able to fit me in at 1pm today. Of course I said I would be there. I m in the chair and they proceeded to tell me they r going to extract both teeth, top and bottom .Mind you the bottom one is the one that's killing me. So the dentist assures me she will be pulling both. She was the Dr. that I saw last Friday when I went in. She took roughly 3 hours trying to pull this tooth cause she was trying to keep it intact. After she was done with the first tooth she says that I need to schedule an appointment to take out the other one..... Here's where it gets fun.... I very loudly ask if she was Crazy. I again said the tooth that's killing me is the bottom tooth! You pulled the wrong tooth!!! She said well I don't have time to pull the other one today. It was only 3:30! Their office is open until 5pm! It says so right on their website. I was so angry l left. But I had to go back in to get stitches. That's when she tells me she didn't even get the whole tooth out yet she still stitched it closed anyway. Now not only am I still in a ton of pain from the original tooth that I was seen for. I'm also hurting from where she dug out the wrong tooth, The one that didn't hurt. As soon as I walked out the door to leave I started calling lawyers. This company is a joke! I came to my dental appointment to get a few cavities filled, i was told they would fill my teeth that are painful first and then the other ones at another appointment, i pointed out the teeth that hurt and they proceeded to fill other ones instead. Throughout the whole process they sprayed water down my throat and rarely drained it and not once did they check up on me. Plus the woman holding the water and the man drilling my teeth were FLIRTING the entire time it seemed as if she wasn't even looking at how much water was in my mouth, i was literally drowning... when the man went to numb me he did not warn me about the shot and just went for it. When I got my teeth I thought oh I have teeth. I was happy but I did not know what I actually got. One front tooth was made from a different material and stains but never cleans. I have tried everything and nothing unstains it. The warranty I was told I had was lie. They would not replace the tooth or reline the partial. They said I had to pay for both. Then the partial broke. I had them examined by another denturist. He said it looked like they had been worn for 5 years. It's been about 1. He said that the material was so outdated that he wasnt even sure where they got it. He wasnt aware that it was still available for purchase. And to prove his point they are made of the same material as my first partial that I got 21years ago. (I just thought this was the normal material) (This is where I picked up my teeth, the denturist is on green acres) The deturist stated that the teeth were ground down in such a way that indicated that the bite was off ( the way the teeth meet each other) and was taken correctly. Almost all of the teeth are worn down to the acrylic. The denturist stated that he would not even take my money to fix them because the material is so outdated that it would not bond to any updated materials. He warned that if he did it ,I would waste almost $400 and because of the outdated material they would break again within a week. Advantage dental would not give me a refund. They said that I could fill out a complaint form and see if their board would review it and determine what they would do. Terrible experience with scheduling. Waited months for an appointment only to have them call the day before to cancel on me due to the hygienist being out of the office. I asked how long it would be for the next appointment, "quite a while" she said, but said they have a cancellation list that is a couple of weeks out. I said, "This is ridiculous, we waited months for this appointment!" to which the receptionist magically found an appointment slot THE NEXT DAY. I go in to the appointment, we are told they need to do a deep cleaning before they will do any other work, like fillings. This cleaning is $400+ WITH INSURANCE. We said we can't afford that. I went in for an "emergency" recently; needed some resolve for my broken filling that fell out. I luckily got in right away, they took x-rays, did nothing for my tooth and scheduled me for a year out to fix my tooth. I wish they told me they couldn't do anything until Feb. 2024 (a year later) when I called! I would have never made an appointment. I missed work that morning. Now they will get paid for x-rays that won't even be able to be used for my year away appointment. I felt scammed. I got my wisdom teeth removed and the procedure was a lot better than I expected. I was SO nervous but the staff was very kind and reassured me that everything would be okay. Dr. Dhillon extracted all 4 of my wisdom teeth and did it very quickly and efficiently. The most painful part was the initial injection of the anesthesia. I recommend him to anyone that is looking to have this procedure done. I trust him. He's really good at what he does. Very high turn-over of dentists. Rare chance you will see the same dentist twice in a year. Advantage Dental appears to hire new dentists and they leave just as soon as they can open their own practice. Ask them about the dentist who has been with them the longest. Cost cutting cheap at your expense. Ever try to call your dentist just to make an appointment? The "advantage dental" phone maze is a joke. Yeah...they are saving money. The dental office and dental staff has been dismissive, RUDE, treated me as if I was nothing. From the first dental appointment to a few weeks ago. That's 8 years of suffering. My mouth was cut from the 1st placement of my teeth. When he did place them I instantly cried out. I was told to shut my mouth. He then went out too lunch with some quiet sleazy assistant. Boom out the back door. I barely got out of the chair. Being disabled I need help. My med equipment alone is hard for me. They a not nice. The office was the normal way of treatment. My last visit for teeth cleaning did not go well. The hygienist wanted to probe my gums with a sharp object, which is painful and I see no point in doing it at my age. Gums recede. I refused. Then she wanted me to lie flat while cleaning and constantly squirting water into my mouth, which made me choke on it. I told her I needed to sit up some but she still wanted to do it her way. My experience with Advantage has sometimes been good and sometimes bad. They keep closing clinics or a clinic decides to stop taking OHP clients and their 17th street clinic seems to be the only one left. Avoid! I have tried to work with the staff for two years. It seems like every time I come in they are different. I went there for a filling that came loose. I ended up with a crown and a huge bill! I am finally giving up and moving on. You know it's difficult because of insurance to move between medical providers,especially in the middle of a big fix where you have to start arguing about billing. . The constantly changing staff is the primary reason I ended up with $1,500 bill for a crown. I didn't go in needing one but by the time they were done with me I did. I absolutely hate advantage dental every location they messed up my extraction so bad 6 years ago left a chunk of tooth in the hole and ended up having to have major sinus surgery the following year to remove it from behind my eye as it had moved up my sinus cavity for nearly a year. That's just the tip of the iceberg, I don't think I've ever seen the same dentist twice they set up an appointment did a filling on my daughter who was then four, set up another appointment for a filling she has two cavities that are getting so bad it's been nearly a year and they've rescheduled me almost eight times they have one pediatric provider that works at one location twice a month when I went in for an emergency visit The dentist who was working there I wish I knew his name was not good with kids at all he threw a fit about how she needed to go to pediatrics with yelling in the office at his employees and when I started to confront him about it I was ushered off to the back to talk to a manager who set me up with an appointment for my daughter I'm on later to get the fillings done with pediatric who just called me the other day to cancel my appointment for the 9th time this is not a joke my daughter started out needing fillings and probably is going to need to have her teeth extracted because of their poor staffing and schedulers. I also showed up to an appointment one time and they told me I didn't have an appointment I had my little card that they wrote me telling me when my appointment was in my hand but somehow I was actually scheduled for the day before but the little card that they gave me told me that it was that day. I've been a patient with Advantage on W. 8th for 10+ years now and I've rarely had a problem. I just recently had two teeth pulled in house, and I was pleasantly surprised with how the experience went considering they're not an oral surgeon. Dr. Casebear took great care of me and made sure my experience was as comfortable as possible. His staff are pretty helpful too. It was a very quick and seemingly painless experience. My one complaint is the front-desk staff can be hard to deal with sometimes. Getting a hold of them via phone is near impossible. But I wouldn't shy away from Advantage! Absolutely a nightmare. The last three visits, 6 months apart due to horrible scheduling, were all new dentist each visit. Seems as if everyone who works here jumps ship after a month or two. The staff is very rude as well. One lady was trying to argue with me about the 6 month out scheduling saying its only 3 month at the most ever. Which is horrible wait time if thaylt were true. This was not true from the first visit it was always 6 months out each time. My teeth have extensive work but they only schedule one filling at a time, the dentist are only allowed an hour for each visit. Also they tried to stop a dentist from working on my teeth mid procedure to get someone else in the chair. I had to refuse there attempts and yet the dentist did shotty work due to having to argue with them about the conflict, i waited 15 full minutes for them to continue on my fillings. I had appointments at both the office on 8th Street, and the office on 17th Ave. I was extremely unhappy with both offices. Here's what happened: First of all, one of the receptionists at the 8th street office was SO rude I could hardly believe it! I tried to explain something to her about my needs, and she had the gaul to LAUGH at me!! In addition, she turned around while I was still speaking, and started talking to someone else that she worked with, as I stood there in mid-sentence!! In addition, I went in one day for a "deep cleaning" - which normally takes up to 45 minutes to an hour. It just so happened that my appointment was on October 31st - Halloween - and I guess the dental hygienist had a party to go to....because she did a very minimal amount of scraping, and didn't even get all of my teeth! In fact, she rushed me out of there in less than TEN MINUTES. Then, as I was on my way out, I saw her leaving out the back door with her Halloween costume slung over her shoulder!! UNBELIEVABLE!! I switched to the office on 17th Ave., hoping it would be better. Well guess what? It wasn't. Both offices make you wait at LEAST 6 months between appointments. So...I'd go in for a "checkup", and I was told what work needed to be done. OK...fine. Then, I'd go back 6 or so months later to have the work done.... At least I THOUGHT that's what was going to happen. Instead, they did ANOTHER "checkup", and AGAIN told me what work needed to be done. So, I went back 6 months later and.... Yeah, you guessed it. I'd get ANOTHER damn checkup. This SAME routine went on for OVER TWO YEARS, and I never DID get any work done on my teeth!! And mind you, anyone who has had a joint replacement - which I've had - must take FOUR 500mg antibiotics prior to any dental work being done, so that you don't end up with an infection in said joint area. So every time I went in there, thinking I was going to have work done on my teeth, I ended up taking a massively strong dose of antibiotics for NOTHING! When I complained to the people at the front desk, they just looked at me like I was a lunatic! Zero empathy, understanding, professionalism, or anything ELSE one might have the right to EXPECT from a medical office!! And there is SO much more I could mention, in regard to the shoddy way they treated me, but I don't want to write a book here. Bottom line is that I don't know how those people stay in business...I really don't. I've since switched to Smile Keepers, right across the street. They are WONDERFUL!! The women at the front desk even remember my name each time I go in!! And absolutely everyone who works there, is attentive and caring, AS IT SHOULD BE. I was referred to Dr. Cheng for an implant referral. My mouth is an absolute construction zone, so I knew the news wasn't going to be easy to take. Dentist Cheng: an absolute nightmare happened to me and I am 72 years old and I've had at least 10 other teeth extracted but this was the most horrible thing I ever experienced and left me in shock and distress. Even though my blood pressure was 179 they went ahead to extract three molars and the girl knocked stuff off of the tray and left it on the floor and I saw a little capsules of fluid. The surgeon entered brusquely with no deduction and suddenly started shooting the needle in my mouth at least about 10 times and then without asking me if I was none at all he suddenly shoved down my throat and started pulling the teeth without waiting at all after the shots. I had no opportunity to say I was not numb and I certainly never was numb and the way he pulled the teeth was barbaric slinging them around the room dropping them ...never asking me if I was okay and I couldn't believe the nightmare I was in. Just as fast as that he left and then the assistant told me I could not have hydrocodone because I am on pain management which is not true and she told me to take ibuprofen which I am horribly allergic to and which destroys my blood pressure medicine this was the most horrible experience of my life and I dental office and as I said I'm 72 years old and have had lots of teeth pulled read more

I had 3 teeth pulled and needed the new ones put on my lower partial plate. When it came back it was so rough where the new teeth were, it rubbed my lower inside lip so bad I couldn't wear the partial. I went back to the dentist, she files them, which made them wearable. When she put them in my mouth they rubbed on my upper plate, so she filed on my upper plate. when I ate, the tooth broke right where she had filed on my upper plate. I went back and they were going to charge me to fix the upper tooth that she had filed that had broken right where she had filed..As I was wearing the lower plate, I kept biting my lip so badly that it bled. I went back again and she filed the 3 new teeth down so much that they were noticey visible and looked awful. I sent pictures and explained in great detail what had happened, but they refused to do any thing about it. After charging me $1060.00 they sent me a bill for $130.00 more, which I refused to pay.
