The setup they have due to covid is wonderfully organized. You have to arrive 15 mins early and stay in your car till the previous patient is not in the same area as you. They scan you for your temperature upon entry. Sad part was that only one parent was allowed. I'm sure it was for the better cause I was already riddled with fear. Thankfully the staff and dentist was kind enough to let me FaceTime while I sat outside. The staff was kind enough to walk my husband through the steps, provide information on dental hygiene at our daughters age and get them setup in a room for the dentist to arrive. Dr. Bryan was our dentist. He was super friendly to introduce himself to my husband and me over the phone haha. Answered all our questions and really took the time to talk to us. He checked our daughters teeth and also did a quick clean. He is strong cause our girl is a fighter haha. He was able to hold her down in a way that wasn't painful or scary as a parent. I'm definitely the type to be like "uhm no, stop please." But she was in good hands. At the end, she got a sample toothbrush, toothpaste and a little toy for her bravery. As a parent, it can be very nerve racking going to any doctors appointment because you worry about your baby. But I'm soooo happy I chose West Metro Pediatric Dentist. I feel at ease and I know next time I won't be as worried about taking my daughter in by myself haha

Sadly, both of them are now in their 80s and in poor health--my stepdad is battling stage 4 cancer and Parkinson's, which the office is fully aware of. This past weekend, my stepdad fell seriously ill. He had a cleaning scheduled for Monday, so we called the office first thing to explain. Instead of compassion, we were told we'd be charged a $60 no-show fee. We explained that we could bring him in, but he was coughing badly, and we didn't want to risk exposing other patients. The office coordinator still insisted on charging the fee. When we asked how we could possibly cancel "24 hours in advance" when they're closed Friday through Sunday, there was no answer--just a firm stance that the fee applied. So, rather than let him rest and reschedule, we had no choice but to drag him in--just so the office could collect their $75 cleaning fee. It's deeply disappointing to see a practice we trusted for decades put policy and profit above compassion and common sense. After so many years of loyalty, this was a painful reminder that for some offices, the bottom line matters more than people.

We visited Children's Dentistry of Cherry Creek for that second opinion and were so impressed by EVERYTHING about the office that we returned to our original dentist. There are so many reasons why they are the best pediatric dentist office in Denver - hands down, but here are just a few... 1) The Staff - Every person in that office from the receptionist to the dental assistants to Dr Carlson-Marks herself are kind, helpful and SO GREAT TO THE KIDS as well as the parents. Instead of flashing fake smiles and then seeming mildly irritated by the kids and their parents, the staff here are genuine and engage with your children with kindness, interest and respect. Obviously kids don't love everything that happens to them at the dentist, but instead of just putting a Netflix screen in front of them so that the staff can pretend your kids don't exist, the staff here engage with the kids, get feedback, and help the kids to get through whatever needs to be done with genuine care and consideration. 2) Their Methods - There is an emphasis on prevention here, not on getting you to shell out huge amounts of cash to fix cavities that are just going to keep occurring because the root cause was never addressed. The first thing that happens every time my kids are called back for their appointments here is that they brush their teeth for the dental assistant and are then given tips on what they can do better. Our previous dentist, who charged more than double the price of this office for routine exams, never once in the 3-4 check ups my boys had there ever showed my boys how to properly brush their teeth. 3) Conservative Approach - Dr. Carlson-Marks is perfectly happy to try the wait-and-see approach rather than rushing into drastic procedures for teeth that are going to naturally fall out in the next few years anyway. She's still thorough and will advise when action genuinely needs to be taken, but when she does you can be sure her recommendation is based on what your child needs and not how much money the office will make. 4) Honest and Fair - You won't be charged massive amounts of money when you have to pop in because your kid's tooth is aching or was chipped. If you aren't receiving lengthy treatments, they don't bill you heaps of money just for stopping by the office. And in general, their prices are so reasonable that I almost feel guilty paying so little for such phenomenal care. 5) Appointments and Wait Time - It isn't impossible to get in when dental emergencies strike, and you usually won't be waiting in the lobby an hour after your appointment time. 6) Flexible and Holistic - Whatever your angle (traditional or more conservative/natural approach), they will accommodate you, offer options that work for you, and treat you with respect. I am so happy I found this office and you will be too.

Now whenever we come for the appointments they run in and say "I love this place!". They have tvs on the ceiling for kids to be easily distracted during their appointments.
