Our family is very much committed to PSLS. Our daughter has been coming to Kali 2 days out of the week for 30min sessions. When she first started it was rough but after 4 yrs our daughter can express her wants and needs. She has come a long way but her progress is amazing with Kali. He's been with Kali Hanson for 4 years and now at 9 years old he's ready to fly free. She's had a wonderful rapport with him and been extremely patient with his ADHD also in the mix. Sometimes as a parent, you have to follow your intuition, even if it means admitting that your child is not hitting milestones, considered "normal," or god forbid "below average" when it comes to development. After discussing it amongst ourselves for some time and even hearing that her own teachers were not concerned, we decided it wouldn't hurt to schedule a speech evaluation for our daughter. This was because we noticed that at three and four years old, she was having difficulty pronouncing certain letters and sounds. We were referred to PSLS from our pre-school director and had an initial evaluation in July of 2017. Sure enough, the evaluation concluded that speech therapy "appears medically necessary due to an articulation disorder." It was recommended that our daughter participate in 30-minute sessions of speech therapy for a minimum of two sessions per week, as well as practicing at home. As a result of the evaluation, we also learned that there was no reason our daughter couldn't easily catch up to age appropriate verbal communication in a reasonable amount of time. We also learned there were no physical barriers stopping our daughter from pronouncing anything, which was a relief. In reading everything I've written above, it sounds very serious and clinical and like there is a major issue at hand. Luckily, that is not so... our daughter is perfect (at least in my eyes) and while maybe she doesn't annunciate every word as she should, she sounds like any other four year old out there. She just needs to practice a little bit more and luckily, she has grown to love going to her speech sessions with Miss Amy, her therapist. PSLS does a great job of balancing a warm and friendly environment with a team of professionals who are super knowledgeable in their field. They can speak in layman's terms to the patients and parents but obviously have a clinical background as well. I've been pleased with the staff working with my pediatrician and insurance company as well as with the progress I've seen to date with our sessions. While I hope that my daugher will "graduate" and no longer need therapy after a few more months, I'm grateful to have found PSLS, to help bring her up to speed before she enters elementary school. If you are seeking a place to take a child who may need some therapy or are curious to get an evaluation, PSLS is a practice I'd definitely recommend. read more

I am a nanny and have been taking my charge here for over 3 years now for speech therapy 4 days per week. His sessions are 1 hour each, so we spend about 4 hours here total every week. To start, his therapists, Courtney and Sandy are spectacular! They work as a team and communicate on a weekly basis to develop a plan and goals for Gavin. Gavin's speech has improved immensely since pairing with these two therapists. They also do a great job at communicating with his other therapist at a different location, his developmental preschool, and his parents via email. They both have a true passion for what they do which is evident in their interactions with Gavin on a daily basis. I could not be more pleased with what they've been able to accomplish when it comes to Gavin's speech and language development. As for the offices, it is always clean, comfortable and welcoming. The waiting room has tons of toys and books to keep siblings entertained while they wait. They also have plenty of seating including chairs and comfortable couches. They also offer free wifi for the parents to utilize, which is pretty speedy. This place came highly recommended from fellow parents and I completely agree. It is great! read more

I called the Chandler location to set up a consultation for my son, but didn't even get that far. The lady who answered the phone sounded so unenthusiastic and like she had been woken up from a nap. I started to speak and she cut me off mid sentence and said I needed to hold on and then abruptly put me on hold. I hung up. I wont have my insurance being charged an arm and a leg for crappy customer service. There's other Speech and Language offices that would provide a much more welcoming process when onboarding a patient, even if it starts with a phone call. No thanks. read more

The lady who answered the phone was very rude. First she said I didn't send copies of my daughters tests. I double checked the email and it was all there. She then suggested I go through all of the files and send her just what they need. How do I know what they need. They requested all of her special education records so that is what I sent. Her job is to go through that and pull what they need, not mine. I resent it again. She said she was able to find it, asked me some questions, and would review with the provider to see if they could do my daughters IEE testing. She then called back and said they could not do her testing because my daughter has swallowing issues. She knew this when I talked to her so why didn't she say at that time they couldn't do that part. I then said that is fine, I am having that checked through her Dr anyway, so can they just do the other testing. She said no because my daughters test scores are too high and they won't make her scores lower. I told her nobody is asking for you to change any scores lower, you are just supposed to review her testing and retest her to make sure everything is okay, that is why it is called an Independent Educational Evaluation, and IEE. I asked her if there is any good reason why they can't retest her which is what an IEE is for. She then just said they will not test her even though they have an approved PO from the school to pay for the testing. Such a waste of time. If they didn't want to do it, why did they accept the PO from the school and say they would schedule the IEE. Would never use them, do not recommend. read more

My daughter had a small stutter and we went for an evaluation here followed by regular speech therapy. The therapist I worked with was amazing with my daughter and was very engaging. She used toys and activities to get her talking. The office was clean and practical for children full of toys and bright colors. This review is all about my actual therapist. This is the most important review I will write in my life. Due to the unbelievable staff at Pediatric Speech and Language Specialist, my son has a voice in this world. I had a very difficult pregnancy. The life of my son and myself was at risk. I had 8 large tumors and two were larger than my baby; weighing 8 pounds 7 oz. James walked fast, was reading at 2 1/2, counting (I putting numbers in order) by 10 months but could not speak. At about 3 years of age, he would write words three letter words on paper but could not say them. Everyone kept telling me he would be ok, he was smart and it would work out. At age of 4, I was giving James a bath and he wanted to tell me something, when I told him I did not understand he started to cry. I made a promise that I would find someone to help him. I found Pediatric Speech and Language Specialist on Google. I remember my first conversation with their office. My insurance would not cover James' treatment, I asked one question which was can you help my baby. I was told yes. Fast-forward to now, James is 7 years old and talking. Asking for me things, arguing his point of view and I try to turn my head so he does not see me crying. Every person from the director, therapists, to the office staff have been in our corner. Cheering when we have successes and comforting me when there is more work to be done. They provide social groups, camps, and the support you need. I am a single mother and I owe them the world. They worked with me when I lost my job, never stopping James treatment. I consider them a part of my family. I know they love my son, James. As parents we want the best for our children, if your child is having social communications issues, speech issues, reading, etc. Please give them a call! read more
