We've been going to Scottsdale Children's for all children and love the providers. Dr. Litchsin from the old practice was amazing. We were sad when she retired however, we have found Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel has amazing bedside manner and will literally call you herself for test results. I do appreciate that gesture from the provider. We drive almost 40 mins to this practice one way just for this experience. The office/ backend staff on the other hand can use some enthusiasm, hence the 4 stars. It's very hard to get a hold of anyone from billing and the front office ladies seem very rushed. read more

The doctors here are wonderful! We've seen both Dr Roehr and Dr Patel and they have great bedside manner! They always reassure me and make me feel comfortable. Dr Roehr is such a wonderful pediatrician. She has been so supportive, kind, and has helped a new anxious mom like me navigate this journey. She spends a great amount of time answering all our questions and never makes me feel dumb. You can tell she truly cares! We're excited to see her back from maternity leave! ALSO the new office is GORGEOUS!! I love how clean and massive it is! I also love how they separate the waiting rooms from the sick children vs normal check ups to avoid germs. We haven't had any problems with the staff like others have been saying in these reviews. So I wanted to share our positive experience and my friends who come here too love this practice!! The doctors are WONDERFUL! This has nothing to do with care. The administration is god awful. Everyone knows that making an appointment with them is torture. Well, try getting records from them!!!! They flat out ignore you, redirect you to a third party, which sends you just a humongous pdf file that is not compatible with anything. It's really really terrible. We left due to relocation, but I was pretty close to leaving due to the admin anyway, even though we ADORED our doctors. read more

I am writing from a speech therapy clinic. My member has now missed 2 therapy sessions, as the office staff from this clinic has not sent a signed care plan after 4 requests. The care plan is needed to present to DDD so ongoing therapy can be authorized. I think people don't understand how important their jobs are...sadlly, like I mentioned the member (below age 6) suffers because therapy must be canceled and this feels maddening. read more

We are changing for our 4 kids. For one their arbor medical staff that answer the phones are very rude the will even snicker and laugh in a rude manner. I had to cancel 4 appointment because we came back from visiting family and my kids were sick all night unfortunately I had to cancel day of which I also got a lecture. Another time the guy laughed at me because we had not taken our under one year old in for 3 months she was due for her 6 month and we were on vacation. He mentioned it was a vaccine appointment which after our second kid having a life threatening reaction we choose not to she is the youngest of 4. He mentioned that we may be grandfathered in and was very rude. Some of the office staff are rude. There system online is stupid and lacks common sense. You need a pin and a code and several configurations and registration for 4 kids over and over again. One nurse was really bad with my 4 year old she was 2 at the time and was scared to get weighed or have Dr do anything she acted like she was a brat. Same one also redid my babies test where you do the blood on the paper I told her the hospital sent it with me in a envelope which is common. She forced her way and did not listen I was upset as baby already had a sore on her little foot and the test was excessive. She didn't want to wait for me to grab it out of my diaper bag. read more

After today and how I was treated by Lilly someone on the phone and suggested an option to leave I have taken the advice after my kids have been seeing Dr. Gonzales for 10 years I will take my family to a different pediatrician. Hard to believe because my kiddos were happy with him but things are changing there and if the workers say go then bye. They didn't even give me an option to talk with him or leave a message they told me to make an appointment and say goodbye. Then hung up on me. Super disappointed. read more

We've been taking our daughter here since she was born, and we've always received the utmost care for her. The doctors here are caring, and they are always willing to provide input into bettering a childcare routine. This helped us knock out any issues she had very early on, which I absolutely appreciate. They are always quick with appointment availability, and they appear to work with most health insurances. We have seen most of the doctors here at this clinic, and a few at the other location, and all our experiences have been great. We still bring her here even though we've moved! read more

We started out with our child at Scottsdale Children's Group and loved the office, the staff and especially Dr Burke! Over the years we have seen other Dr's when Dr. Burke wasn't available and have been very happy with all of them. The new office as Arbor Pediatrics is so cold and clinical. Makes us feel like we're in an institution. We had to see a different Doctor on our past visit and we are now having serious discussions about leaving this practice. The Doctor we saw was highly focused on one thing that wasn't of concern to us, but is part of their specialized interests. And when asked about a needed medication it seemed to be an inconvenience. We are now dealing with the billing office as they cannot seem to get the insurance billing correct whereas we have never had an issue before. Dr. Burke and her nurses are absolutely amazing but I miss the welcoming feel and staff of the old office. read more

Had Dr. Kanagal and Nurse Ajah-- extremely excellent service. Though I had to take multiple tests to check for flu, covid, and strep, they made sure I was comfortable and Nurse Ajah even gave me a popsicle to make me feel better after swabbing my nose and mouth. Very patient and kind! read more

The doctors are excellent. All three of my children go here. Over the past few years things have changed negatively regarding contact with staff. Their web based system is very difficult to work through. For each child I have to go through four steps for each appointment. First I have to log in and get a secure log in number that is send to me for double authentication. Second, after I make my appointment they immediately require to to confirm that I made the appointment t thru email or text. Third the day before the appointment t you are required to confirm you appointment. Fourth you have to check in online which takes several minutes. If I had one kid it might not be so bad but with three kids it is just silliness. Like I said I love the doctors but the bureaucracy is horrible. read more

We have been seeing Dr Burke for 16 years and have always loved her. A few years back they were bought by Arbor Medical Group and several things have changed with this practice for the worse since that. (Not with Dr Burke personally or her bedside manor, that has stayed great.) The front staff are no where near as friendly, they refuse to see you without paying for a level 4 visit first, and most recently to try and schedule a visit for my child, I now have to leave a message with the PA for that doctor and she has to call me back?? What is the point if there is not a central scheduling system person that you can actually talk to. Frustrations have been building for awhile with them so think we may be moving on. read more

A solid 3.5 overall - Dr G was great (4+)- took the time to answer my questions, didn't feel rushed, and had a good rapport with my kid. The lobby (3) needs signs on the inside indicating well vs sick child in case you miss it on the outside door. A few people did not pay attention to what door they came through. There were no signs inside that indicated either! People alwere not directed by front desk staff which side to sit on. We were well sitting next to possible strep! Yey! Even though they confirm if you're coming many times, they will still ask you if what you filled out yesterday is the same insurance and address. The meds techs (2) are running around like a chicken with their head cut off and ours had poor bedside manner. Felt rushed to get a height/weight and there was another patient/tech in the area- a tech coming out the door right next to the station, and another tech standing next to me getting out of the way, but maybe trying to get in that door too. In the room, she took my kids blood pressure- and I had to explain to my child what was going to happen when she pushed that button as it was his first time having it done. When complete, she grabbed the machine and wheeled it out just finishing spitting out his diastolic right as she's closing the door. Really could have said the number then exited. There are two instances I can tell she doesn't understand the ages development as she would direct demands at me, when she could have asked him to do what she needed. After his shots I was sitting him up at the foot of the bed and she tried to leave, opening the door on his feet and legs, with his pants still halfway down. She said 'Oh', waited for me to pick him up and move him she rushed out. I really don't know the rush. Slow down so mistakes don't happen. Also know your age groups capabilities. read more

Front desk never answered phone and no call back from nurse practitioner for information I requested on phone and we have been removed from patient portal! The automated system sucks. And now since arbor group took over it has been lacking customer service. We love Dr Namjoshi and have been clients for ever. But I have not yet gotten a hold of any office people or call backs! The info requested is for my autistic son to have referral for therapies! Looks like I have to find another way. Sad this has gotten bad over here! read more

If you LOVE having your phone and email blown up with incessant confirmation reminders AND you absolutely ADORE waiting for an hour or more past your appointment time before you see the doctor while you toddler is bored and bouncing off the walls....then you should absolutely go here! I am so sad to post this because we have been with this group since birth. They have changed ownership since then and the new management has clearly changed things for the worse. We walked out yesterday after literally sitting for an hour waiting. I was so so so mad I didn't even say anything...just left with my kiddo, infuriated and upset. We have gone to Scottsdale children's group for 12 years, two kiddos, and I can sadly say we will not be returning. The doctors are wonderful, but the customer service is now terrible. They direct everything to the website but You can't even log on to their new system since they switched to arbor medical. It's impossible to get ahold of anybody. We have been twice this week because my son has had a severe flu, and since it had been 6 days with a fever I called our doctor's medical assistant the next morning to get further instructions. I didn't receive a call back until 5:45 at night from a nurse practitioner, Mary Beth Vaughn. She didn't have any of the information from the notes, didn't look to see we had been there twice already, hadn't spoken to our doctor, and informed me she was calling me as a "courtesy", and that "everyone had already left and she was trying to get out of there too." She was incredibly rude, but I could have dealt with that if she had the information from the doctor that I needed. If you have a choice on pediatricians, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

My son has been going to Scottsdale Children's Group since he was born. He is now 11. EVERYONE there has always made us feel welcome, always made my son feel special and has always been very kind. We typically go to the Osborn location. We miss Dr. Garrett so much, but wish her the best in retirement! Marybeth is also one of our favorites! However, we have gone to the Shea location as well and received the same, wonderful quality of care! My son has been sick since Monday and I was trying to get a prescription filled and there was an issue getting it filled. Long story. Mia, one of the medical assistants, at the Osborn location helped me and was so patient getting me my son's prescription. I called in a couple of days after he was seen (because his lungs just weren't getting better). I had to get in touch with Mia again and I ended up speaking with Keith at the Shea location. Keith was VERY PATIENT AND THOROUGH! This was on a Friday, almost at the end of the day. He ensured that Mia got the message and that my son got his prescription filled. Thank you Keith! We've switched doctors (within this practice) 3 times. We like our new Dr. thus far, but unfortunately, the practice/office is run so poorly, we are going to be looking elsewhere for medical care for our 3 kids. As parents, we haven't gotten the feeling that this practice truly cares about our childrens' health needs. Maybe they do, but our experience indicates otherwise. For example, if and whenever our children become ill, we call immediately (most often early in the morning, sometimes before they even open) to try to schedule a sick visit. We are almost always turned away or told to go to an urgent care if and when they call us back - often times several hours later if at all. They very frequently tell us that they are "understaffed." Okay, fine. If it happens once or twice that might be acceptable, but it has become such a regular occurrence, I can't help but think that the practice is run poorly. Either they don't schedule appropriately, or they simply have too many patients. They did a terrific job "selling" us on the practice before our first child was born. The facility is fairly nice. The doctors seemed pleasant at first, and the first few visits were fine. However once our oldest child reached the age of 2, it's been nothing but a headache to call this practice "our pediatrician." We simply don't get the service and care we would expect from a dedicated doctor/patient relationship. I'll never forget when our second pediatrician ran out of the room and brushed us off without addressing one of our primary concerns, after waiting in the lobby for over an hour after our scheduled time. He said he was too busy and we'd need to come back another time (when asked about an illness). It pains me to write this, but enough is enough. Just to add to my previous review, I have decided to drop the rating because my newest discovery about this place has me absolutely livid. Due to the can't-be-bothered nature of the medical care offered by this facility, I have discovered that my son, who Dr. Gonzalez couldn't to be bothered to examine for more than 5 minutes, has had untreated pneumonia for who knows how long. My kids have each been under the care of Dr. Susan Burke since the day they were born. We've been patients at this practice since April 1998. At this time I only have one last kid under her care. Its going to be a bittersweet departure from the practice as my 3 older kids have aged out of this doc office. Dr Burke is kind, knowledgeable & a Phoenix top doc. She never rushes, she answers all questions and has a great bedside manner. We are going to miss you Dr Burke after 2021 when the baby of the family graduates next year & turns 18. We love you and recommend this place to parents with little ones. Dr. Burke will do rounds right after your baby is born. We recently had to change from Scottsdale Children's Group to another pediatrician due to the horrible service they provide. Our boy was born on 11/2/22 and dealing with these people has been an absolute nightmare. The doctors are good but the rest of the staff are the reason for this review. We went to our first appointment and getting through the process met our doctor, we accomplished what we came in for. However, the doctor said to set up the follow up appointment with the front desk. So on our way out we asked the lady upfront to to give us a time to come back, she said to call them and do it on the phone later. When we got home, We called 3 times within a span of 2 days and we were on hold for more than 30 minutes to an hour each time and had to hang up. They never reached back nor tried to accommodate the needs of our newborn. I normally don't write a lot of reviews , but this has been very frustrating. Specially when it comes to your baby, some level of attentiveness is not too much to ask for. read more

We absolutely love the Physicians and Nursing staff at SCG. We see Dr. Gonzales and he is a lovely, empathetic Dr. with a great sense of humor and is a natural with the kids. His nurse has the fastest draw on giving shots that I've ever seen - she is like a super ninja with the needle and the kids never see her coming. I also love that they have separate entrances for sick vs. well kiddos. All up, fantastic! We have had several appointments there where we waited over an hour to be seen, but it feels like that's improved recently. Our last appointment, we arrived 15 mins early and were seen by our appointment time. read more

Both my son and daughter have been patients here since they were born (son is 8 and daughter is 3). We have seen all the Dr's here and ended up choosing Satish Namjoshi as their primary. He is an amazing Dr. His bedside manner is the best since my pediatrician growing up. He remembers my children and knows them. That is what sets him apart. Dr. Namjoshi gets 5 stars hands down! I didn't give the Group 5 stars because they over-bill me on the well checks and I always end up with a credit. I should have the option of getting a refund instead of an account credit (actually, they should stop over billing me). This is something that has been going on for years. I look the other way for two reasons: because of Dr. Namjoshi and because I've never had a problem getting sick appointment's same day. :) This is a great pediatrician's office and you won't regret bringing your children here. read more

We had a few bad experiences with different pediatric offices around the valley before discovering and falling in love with this office. Dr Namjoshi is amazing. He is very open to what you want as a parent. He doesn't push vaccines and leaves it up to the parent to choose what and if they want to. Several times we needed to make last minute appointments and they were always able to get us in that same day no problem. I would highly reccomend this office. read more

We moved here last summer and I chose this practice based on recommendations from a parent at my son's school. I'm not impressed. Every single time we've made and had an appointment we end up waiting an hour in the lobby and then another half an hour in the room. The last time we went the doctor didn't even check my son herself. The last two visits have been sick visits where my son had a fever for days and throat pain. They do the swab and tell me the strep test came back negative and it's viral and just do Tylenol for pain, then I get a call 2 days later saying he tested positive for strep and the prescription has been called in to the pharmacy. This has happened TWICE. So my son has suffered and been in pain due to their negligence TWICE. I feel like the doctor is too busy to care, check him herself or listen to my concerns. Between this and the ridiculous wait times I'm done. Worst experience ever. I'm taking my kids elsewhere, where there is a doctor that actually cares. read more

Even through the pandemic, the medical assistants have also gone above and beyond to care for patients! Almost hate to share such a great review as it will make them busy. Parents beware...I'm a mother of 2 that moved here from Florida and chose this office. Never have I experienced the nightmare to schedule a simple appointment for your sick baby to see in fact ANY doctor in the office. Front desk has to transfer you to the doctors PA and it goes to voicemail EVERY SINGLE time and basically your message sits there for days. Obviously, the PA is busy seeing inpatients all day so your voicemail is pointless. How unprofessional and disappointing that they have this structured like this. In Florida, I would text directly with the doctor and their assistant and my sick baby would be seen day of. It was so personable especially being a first time mom. I know the texting with the doctor and assistant is not common and I'm not expecting that but at least return my call day of or have the front desk like any other office schedule you an appointment for your baby to be seen. If you're a mom just imagine waiting not knowing if they will call you back that day and your baby is sick, uncomfortable and crying. It's very stressful. I wish I would've listened to the negative reviews on here and not focused on the positive because this is the reality! No matter how great they say the doctors are it's not worth it if you can't see them when it matters most. Mom's....choose another office and when you do find a pediatrician and ask them how they schedule appointments if your baby is sick and needs to be seen ASAP. There should always be front desk employees to help you schedule immediately it's not rocket science and I shouldn't be transferred to no voicemail ever! Left this place very unhappy. First of all it was really hard to schedule an appointment, they kept me on hold for 20 min, then it went to the not working voicemail. Finally, we scheduled the appointment with dr. Trompeter and i was shocked when i saw her. I dont mean to be rude, but I have to say it. If you are a doctor and working with children and especially newborns, please take care of yourself. Her hair looked dirty and not brushed for days, and also she wasn't wearing mask. There were a lot of sick kids sneezing and coughing in the waiting area, so the doctor should wear mask, especially when you're touching a newborn. And she was fakely smiling the whole appointment which was kinda annoying. This place grossed me out. read more

Today was the final "straw that broke the camels back" as I waited for 45 minutes with my children for our appointment. Not impressed at all and left appt. Very upset. I came in for my daughter's first doctor appt. She is only a week old and was told that our appt was for 8:30 when making the appt. I asked about printing new patient registration forms online to help with the process and was able to locate and print them ahead of time. I arrived 10 minutes early and by 9:27, we were still sitting in the waiting room. Meanwhile, there was a family with their sick 2 year old running around and coughing up a storm on the non-sick children side. The front office staff noticed, but never asked them to wait in the sick children's waiti room. I asked the front office if this was normal to wait this long and how much longer it would be, since my appt was for 8:30. I was told that actually my appt for for 9:00 and that they tell you 8:30 so you are there early to fill out paperwork, even though I requested and had it filled out prior. And that my appt was on time even though it was almost 30 minutes after the time they actually scheduled me. When they finally called us back, we waiting another 20 minutes for the doctor with my newborn in her diaper only. I confronted the doctor and told her that I was unhappy for waiting an hour and half (1 1/2 hours) for an appt. Dr. Burke responded, "I am sorry it's just really busy today and we are behind" I explained that I would think that a newborn on the schedule would take precedence over a sick 12 year old, especially since their discharge instructions from thr hospital advised against crowds for the first 4 weeks. And I told her about the front staff not regulating the sick kids being in the proper waiting room. Dr. Burke said nothing, rather she methodically went about her exam and was finished is less than 10 minutes. When checking out the desk is located where they bring patients back...they use the same door to bring patient back and exit, both located on the sick children's waiting room. To top it all off, even though I filled out 5 pages of paperwork..they still spelled my last name!!!!! read more

Dr. Namjoshi is awesome and his assistant, Valerie is always very caring and helpful! I also love that they are one of the few places to have a well child and sick child entrance and separate waiting area. However, I just wish inconsiderate parents would stop bringing their sick kids on the well side! I just got a cold from a super rude dad that brought his and 3 yr old child over on the well child when people are bringing newborns, like myself and babies as young as 1 week old! Come on parents, stop being so outrageously inconsiderate. Im bringing lysol in to future visits so these rude people get the picture. read more

Dr. Kanagal has been a Godsend to myself and my daughter!!! As a new mom I'm always on edge and assuming the worst, while feeling like I have no idea what I'm doing! She always gets us in when my daughter is sick and always makes me feel like my concerns are valid and she is so good with my daughter who's now 16 months. She has been with us since the day she was born. She's kind, gentle and extremely knowledgeable!!! I can't say enough about how amazing she is and how much we love her!!!
