What a great experience it was to work with Pedro's upholstery shop! We have a huge sectional (have had for a long time) and all the cushions had gone flat. The fabric itself was still in decent shape and we originally had the piece custom made to fit our space. So, I started my search to find a place to make replacement cushions. I recently needed to upholster two chairs. I looked online, and shopped the job in person to three shops. One estimate was so high, I figure they didn't want the job at all. Their timeline was months. The second place was better on price, but still months out. I eventually hired Pedro and Kim's Upholstery. I hesitate to say their prices were a bargain, because it was nothing like free, but relatively speaking, it was a steal. And Pedro said they had a only a five-week backlog. Again, to be fair, it ended up taking a little longer, but nothing like the competition. The work is excellent. The material I settled on was carefully centered, and installed straight, tight, and cleanly. Pedro is one of the nicest folks you'll meet, and talked me through my options and even helped me with some footstools I'll upholster myself. They provide a perfect balance of price, timeliness, and quality. I recommend them highly. If you can't find their website, it's 'cause they don't have one. Based on all the positive reviews, I reached out for a quote on two armchairs that needed reupholstering. I was told to send pictures of the chairs along with dimensions via text and someone would get back to me with a quote. I texted three different times, once with the original pictures and dimensions and two follow up texts to ask for confirmation that they received the information and asking for a quote. Never heard back, not even the courtesy of a "Hey thanks, we're really busy right now, but we haven't forgotten your request for quote." Taking my business elsewhere. The project was to make custom cushions for a chair I had acquired and rebuilt, but had no cushions. My idea was to use an elk hide that my father bequeathed to me to cover the chair cushions. On my first visit to the shop, it was obvious that I could entrust the black hide to Pedro, who listened intently to my ideas, and then gently offered several Pro suggestions which I accepted immediately. Pedro was able to work with the hide and imperfections to make one-of-a-kind work of art, including featuring the bullet hole from my father's hunt. Pedro gave attention to all the details, and was dedicated to getting results I'd be happy with.
