This was our third time eating at Pedro's Tacos, and while we do like the food overall, we've noticed some consistency issues. This time, the food presentation wasn't great. I found a random piece of ramen in my carne asada taco, which was surprising and honestly a little concerning. The burrito we ordered was also sloppily wrapped and looked rushed. Another thing I noticed was the lime they gave me for the tacos--it seemed like it had already been used. When I tried to squeeze it, there was no juice, which was disappointing since that little detail makes a difference. Tacos, burrito, and Cali fries is what I had ordered. Food was delicious. Only disappointment is the size offering for the Cali fries... it was a pretty small portion compared to Cali fries I had in Cali. Small, clean shop. Was greeted by a fella running the register. What a terrific lil taco stand! What really stands out the most about this place when you go inside is how they maximize the use of such a little space to create a nice eatery in Port Royal. The menu is wide and varied, and the food always has such a fresh taste to it. The staff is very friendly and overall this unsuspecting place has a lot to offer, highly recommended to anyone who likes authentic Mexican street food. read more

We hadn't visited for awhile, so decided to grab a quick lunch at Pedro's. There was no one else in the restaurant. I have never seen black marks on tortilla chips, but there were plenty in this batch. I gave them some credit in the past for making their own chips, but this time it was not a success - over fried and oil soaked. My usual order of chicken flautas fell flat. The shredded chicken was bland and quite chewy. Tomatoes were non existent. The biggest serving on my plate was shredded iceberg lettuce. It was abundantly clear that there was absolutely no care in the making or the plating of this dish. Our request for guacamole was met with a sorry, and then a reply that they were "sold out". Really? My husband was also disappointed in his tacos. Once again, a restaurant in Beaufort/Port Royal showed its inability to maintain a consistent and reliable level of quality and execution. I do enjoy Mexican food. Why Beaufort has so so many Latino eateries is mind boggling. Many, unfortunately, are just a a boring repeat of the same old Tex-Mex offerings. Residents here crave more international cuisine besides nachos, tacos and enchiladas. Sorry Pedro's, we won't be back. read more

A terrific addition! Wow! Food was delicious. On this visit we shared the Pizza Birria. It is amazing! Enough for two. Wow. We also ordered chips + salsa to snack while we waited. Not necessary for the wait but really good and we didn't leave any. :-) The quesabirria is wonderful. You will not be disappointed. When they ask if you'd like the consume, say yes. My husband snuck over without me (!) once and had taco. He is picky and wholeheartedly agrees Pedro's is on THE List. In addition the folks are super, VERY clean and neat place. I was looking for menudo on a Sunday and Pedro's filled the need. Menudo is not on their normal menu but my wife saw they had a flyer on the front door that they had menudo. The taste was very good. Pedro's is a take away style restaurant so don't expect a great display for the soup. They could use a little different container or I would be tempted to get it to go and eat at home in a nice bowl. My wife tried different tacos from the menu and they were all a hit. We will definitely be back many more times for Mexican food. read more

I went here cause I've heard some ok reviews I asked for steak nachos... drove back home and I can see a little steak in there... but the rest of the meat is not steak.. it's a ground meat but I'm not sure what I'm assuming beef cause there's no other ground options.. regardless there's a good $1.50 difference between steak and the only other ground meat option so they robbed me of that.. and I tipped cause the kid behind the counter was actually engaging in normal conversation...the quality of the tacos I ordered were a let down something we could have made at home. Birria tacos are actually pretty decent they're a 7/10, while the carne asada tacos were very oily, like dripping oil down my hand oily, and the meat on those tasted like bland ground beef. While I did order to go,the service was speedy. I did enjoy the cute lights inside as well. There's a lot of stuff on the menu so maybe some things are better than others but I'm personally a taco person so that is my own personal take on their tacos.
