We are here last night. Richard and I ordered the ceviche tropical and richard also had a portobello taco without the queso (non-dairy diet). The presentation was lovely. But the fish is not the freshest... I do have a sensitive nose for fish to be fair... so it tasted a bit fishy rather than fresh. Served with saltine crackers. The mushroom taco looked greasy, I think sautéing them in too much oil. Our friend ordered the pork fajitas. Now that looked great... huge quantities. But I didn't eat any so I can't vouch for it. I'm in Beaufort visiting family and had to check out Agave and try their fajitas. The first thing that caught my eye was this restaurant's amazing decor. The homemade chips I was brought were awesome! My server brought out my steak fajitas within minutes of having ordered them. After looking over the menu online (which had so many ridiculous typos that I lost count), I was presented with a very limited lunch menu when I arrived, with a reasonably-priced but very confusing combo section. Also definitely a language barrier with the waitress, which is frustrating and tiring. Got yes or no answers that didn't make any sense to questions about what my options were. Ordered chile relleno with pastor and got chicken. Ordered a Baja fish taco and got a shrimp taco. Had to ask for a drink menu. Couldn't find the bartender to order a drink. Had to ask for the check multiple times. Waitress took my credit card before even giving me the check! Never had that happen before, and of course the check was incorrect. They charged me extra for the items I didn't order but didn't add my drink to the check. (I understood that some of the options I actually did order were extra, but they charged me more than what those would have been since they gave me the wrong options - shrimp vs. fish, etc.) When I pointed out the issue to the waitress I was met with a blank look, then asked if I was trying to order more food! When I asked to speak to a manager, she finally just comped the drink instead of correcting anything or adding it, but I didn't even get a copy of my receipt to sign. We had a fantastic experience here! First of all, I would like to give a huge thank you to the staff for coming out in the snow! They were one of just a few restaurants open just after the storm. We came in from out of town for a graduation and we really thought we were going to have to eat Cheetos for dinner because of all the storm closures. The food was perfect! My girlfriend is a chef and it can be challenging to find something that she truly enjoys. The fajitas she ordered made the mark! I had the tacos al pastor and they were delicious! And the portions were more than generous. As we were leaving, we accidentally left our card at the table and the waiter was kind enough to flag us down in the parking lot before we drove off. 10/10 for the food, but the staff is a 20/10! I had heard amazing things about Agave so some girlfriends and I had to try it out. Upon our arrival on a Friday evening the parking lot was pretty packed. We were nervous but honestly, we were seated within five or so minutes of our arrival. Each of us ordered a different margarita. I had the sangrita and loved it. When we go back I will definitely order the blood orange that my friend had. All were delicious though! For my main meal I had the street tacos. It comes with three and I had the steak ones. They were excellent! The table was also served chips and salsa when we arrived. One mild salsa and one spicy. We also ordered queso which I forgot to take a picture of ha ha. this place is my go-to for after work drinks! however, today I sat right by the margarita mix at the bar and after finishing two drinks and swatting flies and gnats away from my face the entire time I was there.... I noticed that the margarita mix had dozens and dozens of dead flies floating in it. So grossed out. I pointed it out to the bartender who assured me that they were jalapeño seeds... which are white... and sink.. girl come on. Super unhappy that I had to pay for drinks full of bugs. We recently tried Agave Mexican Grill on a Sunday after church and we will definitely be returning! Their salsa and chips! Best ever salsa! The chips could use some salt but I carry my own, so no big deal. We ordered one of their fajitas for two with a variety of meats that was outstanding and we couldn't eat it all.
