The chips were warm and the salsa was delish. I ended up getting enchiladas rancheras with double the rice because I didn't want the beans. My brother got some humongous california burrito... the serving size of these dishes is absolutely insane. I was stuffed like a pig halfway through the meal. TOO-MUCH-FOOD & carb overload! YOU HAVE TO GET THE FRIED ICECREAM WITH CHEESECAKE. SOSOSOSOSOSO GOOD! The most recent time I came for lunch with 4 friends. Ordered a super fajita quesadilla for takeout. I was shocked at the portion size, you would be lucky if you got that at other places. The taste was delicious, the tejana (beef, chicken, and shrimp) I would highly recommend. The mix of beef, chicken, and shrimp is a flavorful combination. If I could give it a ZERO I would the food came out really fast, the chicken tacos were wet, the steak tacos were dry the fries were terrible the chicken tenders taste like they were in the freezer for a long time this is the worst food I've had in a very long time I'm disgusted. We came here tonight for dinner. The good: we were seated immediately, the service was good, and the food came out hot. The bad: I ordered horchata, and it was used with coconut milk? And it was literally a powdered mix that was still not fully dissolved in the bottom. We ordered 2 meals and 2 kids meals, and nothing was spectacular. In an area where there aren't many good places to eat it was nice to find this Mexican restaurant. Once I got my Latino waiter, hate ordering my food in english and got past the fact that they do not carry Victoria beer(a distributor issue in the area) I was ready to go. While the chips could use some improvement the salsa was ok. My standard modyfied Carnitas dinner was superb. Probably the best carnitas I had in a while. Meat was nice and moist and not shredded. It came with some pico de galo which could use more cilantro and a big plate of frioles. I skip the rice. The corn tortillas(only gringos order flour tortillas) were nice and hot. Now if they would just be playing music, no real Mexican restaurant should be without it, that be even better. Went there tonight for dinner. We were seated fast and the food came out fast. Almost immediately my boyfriend was spitting chicken bones out of his mouth from the chimichangas he ordered. Then my food had weird stings of skin like fat mixed with the meat. We paid and left. Not even halfway home (30 minutes drive) I started getting nauseous and his stomach starting hurting. I grew up in California and Las vegas and we had Mexican food on every corner almost. It's been a struggle in the area to find good Mexican food and authentic styles. It may not be like California but it trumps anyone else anywhere close to here. Ignore the negative reviews about "oh I'm from California this food is garbage". You don't go to California for a New York Slice of pizza do you? I have been here many times and it tastes good enough and fresh enough to be called authentic. The salsa is great and the drinks are huge. They do not hold back on servings and you leave full. They carry alcohol and awesome desserts. I think the only thing I was unsatisfied with was their tres leches cake which many corners were cut on it being made. Other than that go in get a Burrito California and its a great place to bring your family. Also customer service here is great they are attentive and make sure you are taken care of. We arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes before they closed. We had driven 4 hours through a horrible snowstorm and we were so hungry. The worst 'Mexican' I've ever had. If you want good Mexican food go to Casa too Mucha. Giving one star only because Yelp makes you give a star. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, which is the only credit I'll give the place. There was also a guy sleeping in a booth who had clearly been there a while... He had also brought in outside food - smart guy! The wine list is very limited and the margaritas are made from a mix. The sangria was nothing more than sweet wine. Excellent authentic Mexican food! This is my new favorite restaurant. We had a carnitas plate and Bistec Guadalajara - both were excellent. I can be a snob about Mexican food, having lived in California and traveled extensively in Mexico, I tend to be picky... They've got a liquor license, a variety of beers, wife drank an excellent Margarita. Only complaint I would make was that their refried beans were a little soupy; for that I'd give them a 4 1/2 stars. Salsa was excellent. This place is new; they've taken over a space from an ugly Chinese restaurant; could stand to get rid of the gaudy lighting and they could use some music in there but otherwise I cannot complain. Good: They had Sidral Mundet on the menu. It's a Mexican apple soda that verified Pedro's authenticity. The food is affordable and the serving size was more than enough. Two of us ordered chicken fajitas, one tamale, two beef tacos, and two sodas for a little less than $20. Bad: The complementary chips were a bit stale. I wasn't a big fan of the hard shell tacos, but the fajita tortillas were good. Maybe they're homemade? I grew up in Texas so my standards for Mexican food are unreasonably high. This is a large strip-mall restaurant with plenty of booths, super kitschy decor, fast service, nice wait staff, and really tasty food--considering the area we live in has few choices, especially. Portions are huge, the chile rellenos and queso are my favorites. Someone said it was pricey--but there are plenty of entrees for under 10 bucks, so while it may not be as inexpensive as similar food elsewhere--I did not find the prices especially high for a sit-down restaurant. Found this place hiding behind the Men's Wearhouse. The front is colorfully displayed as it is clean on the outside as it is in. A friendly greeting, followed by chips and salsa.
