For one that doesn't live in the area are options were limited. We decided to go to Pedro's since it said "Authentic Mexican Food". Train of events: 1. Wasn't greeted when we walked in! 2. Was seated by the manger or owner I think! 3. The waitress we received said maybe 5 words to us, even though we told her we've never been there. 4. We ordered a water, Sprite with lemon (didn't receive a lemon, and a kids Dr. Pepper. Let me tell you...I've never seen a kids drink so small! 5. When the miserable waitress came back we told her we were ready to order. We ordered a Beef Taco Salad, Chicken Fajita Skillet without onions and tomatoes, and a kids meal (mozz sticks & french fries) 6. After about 20 minutes we received out food. The Fajita Skillet was delivered with onions and tomatoes and 2 fajita soft shells, I told the waitress I asked for no tomatoes and onions, and she took the skillet back. Ketchup was never brought to the table for the French Fries, until I asked and still had to wait. 7. As I was waiting for my order to be corrected and delivered my daughter told me to try the mozz sticks, I told her no because I didn't want to spoil my appetite. She pushed and pushed but I resisted. 8. My new skillet arrived about 10 minutes later and I asked for extra fajitas and the waitress said you would like another order of fajitas, right then I knew there was going to be another charge. I simply asked her...how would you like me to put the chicken and peppers on 2 fajitas? She just walked away. 9. As I was waiting for my extra fajitas more customers walked in and our waitress had no problem in entertaining them (maybe cuz they were males). 10. At this moment my daughter tells me that she can't eat the mozz sticks because they were disgusting (hence why she was pushing me to try it) I decided to put some chicken on her plate so she could at least eat something. 11. As I was making my first fajita I looked up and my mother puts her taco salad to the side and decided to eat the chips they brought out as an appetizer. At this point I took a bite of my first fajita and boy was it disgusting (re fried beans looked like diarrhea and the rice was loaded with salt) 12. My family decided to put the food to the side and wait for the waitress. When the waitress came we told her the food was absolutely disgusting. She immediately called the manager or owner, This is when things became more interesting! I explained to the lady everything that went wrong and how terrible the food was. Instead of her APOLOGIZING she became defensive. She said how come you didn't tell us so we could have tried to correct the issues, I told her I did! She said it looks like your skillet was eaten, I was like NO look at my daughter's plate, you see the chicken? I had to give her chicken because the mozz sticks were disgusting. At this point she told us to "LEAVE". TALK ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE! We left and my mother started puking outside! I would highly advise that this establishment it avoided at all cost. This is not AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! I will be uploading pictures to show how this food looked. read more

Guacamole appears to have been made from a dip. Fajitas come with only two tortillas. The tortillas were Luke warm. Refined beans were barely edible. I will avoid this place. read more

With very little competition in the area (sadly), Pedro's is definitely my go-to for my Mexifix. I'd disagree with a description of it being "authentic," however. I've worked at a Mexican restaurant and visited way too many (ALL Mexican restaurants claim to be authentic in the way that all Ray's pizzerias in NYC claim to be "original" and/or "famous") and have traveled to Oaxaca and Merida, so I may tend to split a bit too many hairs, though. (A good hint: if you don't see "Tacos al pastor" with slow-cooked pork and served with pineapple, lime and cilantro on fresh-made corn tortillas or mole negro that is expensive enough that it's obviously made from scratch, it ain't super authentic. But, that kind of cuisine doesn't tend to sell in many markets.) But, just because it's not authentic doesn't mean it's not delicious!! Incredibly fresh ingredients and very reasonable prices for gigantaportions. Super polite, friendly and attentive staff. Always a great experience. I highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit! read more

Was so bad it isn't worth writing an extensive review on. Being from California I was happy to see an "authentic Mexican restaurant" open in the area. It was horrible and I don't have high standards. Basically I spent 40.00 and my dogs are having tacos for dinner. Sad part is the owners and workers are Mexican but can't cook their own cuisine. read more

If you want authentic Mexican food, this is not the place. If you want americanize version of Mexican stick to taco bell it will be cheaper. Take it from someone that is accustomed to traditional mexican food. When I ask for a burrito I don't expect it to look like an extremely large enchilada. A chicken taco that has a better chance of passing as an enchilada. A carne asada taco that has no corn tortilla, Cilantro, or onions. When the best part of your meal is the salsa and chips that they give you, and that's as far as traditional you are going to get. read more

I'm not sure why anyone would come to this place when you can go to Moe's or Tex Mex. Awful service, our waitress brought our drinks out with our food - about 30 minutes after we were seated. We asked another waitress for our drinks and she said it wasn't her problem. Salsa and chips straight from Walmart. Charged us 4 extra dollars for guacamole, which would have been fine had it not been from a jar that probably cost less. This place is a joke. read more

Ordered chiles rellenos Saturday afternoon. Also tried my girlfriend's burrito and beef enchilada. Quite simply the worst meal I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing in my life. The chiles rellenos were a sloppy microwaved mess of melted white American cheese and limp flat poblanos. The enchilada, burrito and 'refried' beans were likewise inundated with white American cheese. The refried beans were a runny mess. The guacamole tasted like the plastic food service container it almost certainly came from. I am sincerely concerned for any persons that have given this place a favorable rating. I truly longed for the days when Covid had destroyed my sense of taste, and yet I realize the presentation and swampy consistency of the offerings would have ruined any satisfaction I might have achieved anyway. Awful!! In no way authentic Mexican.. Polo Loco tasted old and I ate 3 bites and when owner asked if I wanted a box.. I told Her know that it wasn't good. She didn't try to fix it. Went back next day to see about getting my money back cause the food made me sick after I got home. Owner was rude and unprofessional then started talking in Spanish to the waiter which was very rude. I will never go to this over priced, sorry excuse for Mexican slop house ever again. Don't waste your money. Go to the grocery store, buy a can of refried beans, water them down, over cooked some unseasoned cheese and throw $20 in the trash.. This may be a hit-or-miss place. We stopped in for a late lunch last week. The delicious salsa and chips served straight away was encouraging. However our enchilada meals were nearly inedible. Soggy tortillas filled with what appeared to be American cheese! And very salty meat I suspected came from a can, dumped on top. My dining companion was quite surprised, as she had had a wonderful meal - the very same dish - there a couple of weeks prior. Which was prepared in a completely different manner. Different cooks, I presume? I so wanted to love this place, and will probably give them another chance. But this particular visit, when they were not busy at all, was a disaster. read more

The first two times I ate there the service was excellent and the food good. Not the greatest Mexican food I've every had, but tasty, flavorful, warm from the kitchen. The meat dishes were tender with the delicious smell of correctly crafted Mexican spices and grilling. The salsa was thick and coated the tortillas properly. After bragging about this place to my son (we are both TX transplants) we decided to eat there tonight. It was a very pricey meal. Service was poor. Our server couldn't get our order right. But, unfortunately we were faced with a much worse scenario, The appetizer (stuffed jalapenos) was half frozen and watery. Tasted like the grocery frozen poppers but cold. Dinner came, and it was a nightmare. The chimi that was supposed to be fried and beef was chicken and microwaved. The sauce looked like milk, but tasted like melted plastic. The beef burrito was mostly thawed out and definitely not meat. Maybe mystery meat. The melted cheese on it was rubber. My beef tips were leather and gristle. At least they were warm. The sauce had no taste. The salsa was like drinking cilantro juice. So I get that everything apparently is cheaply made and frozen, and apparently watered down. Everything tasted like cardboard and plastic and I guess the cook doesn't know how to use the microwave. I expected a decent Mexican dinner for money based on prior experience. At least the rice and beans were edible and the chips. Never been so disappointed in my life. Paid a lot of money for something we couldn't eat. read more

Enjoy going to Pedro's Kitchen whenever we are home. It is usually our first stop, frequently before we even go home to unpack. Since we travel frequently, we try Mexican food in many locales. None have ever beat Pedro at serving tasty authentic Mexican food (though two in Texas do compete. My husband and I have taken many guests here and all have been happy with the food and the service. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu and loved all except for two dishes. I highly recommend the California Burrito (your choice of beef tips, chicken or pork). Taste truly is in the tongue of the beholder, but this is the closest I've had to my long-lost Tex-Mex love since moving to New York from Texas. The free chips and salsa were a nice surprise, though the salsa goes overboard on the cilantro (what's up with your love affair with cilantro, New York?), but had decent spice to it. They also provide about 5 different hot sauces at the table if you want some more kick to your food. I ordered an iced tea (which came in the largest glass I've ever seen outside a theme park) and the two enchilada special which came with rice and refried beans. Though the order was slightly wrong (ordered one beef and one cheese and got one chicken and one cheese) it was good. I did find it odd that they charge an additional $.50 for not getting the menu standard beef enchiladas - you can order whatever you want down in the good old Republic of Texas. Service was fine and since I didn't need a refill I didn't see a server much. Cost was typical for a Tex-Mex (which is what I would call this) style restaurant. Looking forward to taking my Texan parents here next summer to get their take. read more

Went to Pedro's tonight for Dinner. Waitress did not provide name. My fiance and I ordered food, he got his perfectly fine and a long island iced tea. He said it was delicious and the drink was strong. I ordered a strawberry margarita, requested on rocks and sugared rim as listed, and the "huge" fajita quesadilla. She repeated my order back to me correctly. She brought out fajitas, not the fajita quesadilla. No margarita. When I informed her this was not what I had ordered, she did not apologize nor offer to correct her mistake or admit to it. Another waitress came forward, and took my plates and apologized and brought out the "correct" order. This quesadilla was FAR from the "huge fajita quesadilla" that was listed. It was a tortilla folded in half, with the fajita that was served to me sloppily shoved into the tortilla. The original waitress came back to fill my fiance's cup, and as both of ours were empty and didnt touch mine or offer to refill. I was visibly upset with the way I was treated and no one cared to make my experience better. The wood was less than impressive and my margarita hardly tasted like it had alcohol in it and just strawberry juice. Definitely not wasting my time or money here again! read more

I'm a person who love Mexican food. I been here before and the food was amazing, fresh and the service was great . Well not so much this time! Took my older brother there for dinner and spent a great deal of money on the food. The food was so bad, it tasted like cardboard and microwaved and freezer burnt shit. The waiter was messing up our orders and we took like one bite and wanted to leave and never eat there again so that's what we did. The chicken was slow cooked tender and flavorful on its own . The service was fast and pleasant . The other people walking out commented on their meals so I think I am on track here . I had lunch here with my daughters. We were all very pleased with the food. I had the chicken quesadilla lunch special which came with yellow rice and refried beans on the side. The quesadilla was delicious. The chicken was shredded and seasoned and the melted cheese was also well blended with seasonings all on a grilled homemade tortilla. The refried beans tasted great as well. Only minor issue was the rice - a little bland and dry I thought. Pedro's has a good selection of lunch choices, most priced around $10.
