I'm not sure if it's burnout and dislike for Allied, but she has definitely changed over the last 6 years. I usually just ignore it, but this time when I left with my 11 year old, he said "wow, she is aggressive." While aggressive wasn't the word he was looking for and later clarified she spoke down to me. She is nice to the kids, but her bedside manner is atrocious. Unfortunately, she is typically who is in on the weekends. She will likely be why we leave. read more

The people at the front office of this place are the worst. They will cancel your appointment saying you should not have booked it through the portal that they direct you to use. Then they lie to your face telling you that they called, texted and left a voicemail when they "canceled the appointment" yet they did none of those things. I checked my call records and they never called, texted, or emailed. Take a close look at their reviews and you will see a common trend. Their office staff are horrible and is going to put them out of business. If you're looking to go here look elsewhere, and if you already go here and are happy, wait until this happens to you because it will. read more

This office is awful and should be shut down. After bringing my son for a normal physical it was anything but. We trust our kids health to their doctors and expect a level of care, patient privacy, and relevant information relating to their development in a healthy, open manner. While several other incidents occurred as well, the bigger issue was that this office performed a test on my childs urine without consent from myself nor my child. This screening had NOTHING to do with treatment for any issues or concerns and was outside of the typical metabolic urine screening. We were made aware when the results were handed off to a receptionist (not a trained medical professional of any kind) to give results to ONLY my minor child on a Sunday! Without getting into detail of test. I called the office back was told they're allowed to do that because of a RECOMMENDATION from AAP. That apparently insurance company also goes from their guidelines so they pay it (called insurance and they had no clue what I was talking about nor were they aware of said recommendation). While this may be a guideline, it is not a mandatory test, which was of extremely sensitive information now handed off to a receptionist and called a minor not knowing what is going on! This is a direct violation of HIPPA & patient rights, not to mention insurance fraud. After speaking to several employees, going down to the office it took 9 days for Addie from "corporate" to reach out. The office manager should not be running a medical practice and the doctor that owns this office should not be allowed in the healthcare industry. Informed consent is not a thing here. I can't imagine how many other families thought this is legal and had the same problem unknowingly and trusting their provider. I guess if you read the AAP guidelines first then you'd know what to expect, which again are suggestions. Don't trust that you'd be given proper information relating to your childs care and development from them. read more

I've been on hold for over 25 minutes trying to get confirmation that my daughters paperwork has been filled out for Early Intervention services. The agency needs it in order to move forward. I do not understand how this office continues to not address their call volume issues. read more

Been there since my son was born I love Sara the NP but as a practice they are not the best which is sad to say they've discharged my son twice for no reason today in fact he had an appt for a hospital f/u. I not only got a voicemail saying to reschedule but than another to say he's being discharged for no reason at all and when i try to call no one answers the phone. My son has special needs and its beyond aggravating and a pain to get an appt or even get on the phone with someone. So I will be transferring care and pursuing further steps as well read more

When my older daughter was born we used a different practice in Sayville. They weren't awful but, like with any doctor's office, there we "little things" that bugged us here and there. The things began to add up and up and eventually we switched to Peds First because we'd heard such great things. SO happy we did! Wonderful stuff, thorough doctors, just the right amount of coddling. Sure, there are some doctors/nurses I'd prefer over others, but even my least favorites there never leave me feeling like I got jipped or misdiagnosed or cheated. Highly recommend Peds First! Peds first was highly recommended to us when we were searching for a pediatrician while I was pregnant and now I know why. We went to visit before the baby and they sat with us to answer any questions, gave us a tour and said to call once the baby was born. We called from the hospital before being released and they were very accommodating with an appointment. They give you a tablet to fill out information and I was able to take it into the room with me since they called us quickly after we got there. So far we've seen Dr. Iype, Sarah and Janelle and they have all been great! No real waiting any time we've gone and they have been so understanding with waiting for our insurance card for the baby. It took over a month and a half and they were always so sweet with telling us not to worry and that they understand how annoying insurance companies are. We had a problem with the baby being crazy and not sleeping and wrote them a message on Facebook at 2am on a Saturday morning and not only did the office call us multiple times once they opened, but they responded on Facebook too just to make sure that someone spoke to us. We ended up calling back after they were closed, about 11:30am (we finally fell asleep at 6am), and we spoke to Dr. Nastasi and she gave us a recommendation to change the formula and it was like we has a new and happy baby! We also called on a Saturday because the baby got her 2 month shots on that Monday and was still running a low grade fever. We called about 7:50am and left a message. They called us about 8am when they got into the office and gave us an appointment to be seen at 8:30. We saw Janelle and she was amazing trying to figure out if anything was wrong with the baby. She even stayed late with us (office closed and she stayed with us until 11:30) to make sure we could get a urine sample and so we wouldn't have to go to a lab. She was so good and comforting with the baby. Hands down best doctors office ever! I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Have been going here for four years. Two weeks ago ten minutes before my daughter's appointment they call to cancel for a simple vaccine appointment saying they have been trying to reach us for days. my wife nor I had any missed calls and nor voicemails. I say well my daughter with special needs is aware of the appointment and that she is getting shots today I said I need to stick to it for her sake and I am in the parking lot already they tell me they can't see me now. that they can squeeze me in with another dr 3 hrs later I say I already arranged my day I can't do that. the lady hangs up on me. I go inside the office check in with the receptionist a few mins goes by they call me to the window and they say your appointment is at 1145 the later time she offered I said I'm here now you can't cancel and change when I am already here I go back and forth with a receptionist finally another lady comes out from the back and says let me help you. she fits us in and prints out the phone call history to us they hadn't tried calling us in a weethe appointment was on Jan 3 the last call to us was on Dec 26. my daughter get her shot we leave today we get letters saying they no longer will see us due to this. How do you dump a patient when the office grossly mishandled the situation. read more

We are relatively new patients to this facility. Though, I had heard great things about them from several parents I was hesitant to leave my kids pediatrician they had since infants. When COVID happened I switched because I was concerned about the office conditions of my old pediatrician... and decided it was time to switch. I had heard great things about how PEDS FIRST was handling visits and have made several visits to the office this year. I am a first time mom with a newborn born during the covid pandemic. I was not able to meet with a pediatrician like most moms do before there child is born. However I did call the office a few months before my son Cole was born and the front desk ladies were extremely courteous, answered all my questions and took there time with me. I appreciated that so much! So cudos to your receptionist because they are phenomenal! Secondly when Cole was born we were able to make an appointment right away and I loved the fact that we were able to wait in our car and call so that we did not have to be around other people with our newborn. We were put in a room instantly. This put my mind at ease as it is hard trying to stay safe during this pandemic with a newborn. Third the office is extremely clean and the Doctor I met with Dr. Joyner was wonderful she took her time with us and Cole and explained many things to us that as first time parents we wouldn't know and answered any questions we had. Fourth I was amazed to find out they had a lactation consultant. As in the hospital I was not able to see one and was having an awful time trying to get my milk to come in as well as get my little man to latch. I basically was completely formula feeding at that point. Jen is amazing and a miracle worker. Cole and I are forever greatful to you Jen! Going from having no milk to having mature milk 6 days postpartum was insane and by the second week being able to put all the bottles and formula away and just be able to breastfeed was an amazing feeling. If you are struggling to breastfeed go see Jen she will do everything in her power to help you. Thank you Peds First. I am incredibly happy to have found your practice and feel that I have great doctors caring for my baby boy. My son has been a patient here since he was born about a year ago. We are first time parents and have had a lot of questions this year, especially with covid. We were not able to speak with pediatricians face to face prior to his arrival like usual due to the pandemic so I was especially nervous about choosing. My mind was put at ease when I spoke to the receptionists who were nothing but nice and a doctor called me back that day to answer any other questions I had. Once he was born we saw Dr Joyner who is nothing short of amazing. We absolutely loved seeing her and really appreciated the time she took to exam my son and to answer any questions that we had. I recently had to speak to her over the phone as she was the on call doctor that night and my son was violently vomiting for over an hour and I was ready to pack him up for the ER. Dr Joyner was patient, attentive and really cared about what was going on and gave me such great info about how to care for him at home without having to go to the ER. She was also very realistic and truthful in saying that we could still end up there, but her bedside manner (although Over the phone) left me feeling calm and able to handle the rest of the night. We were sad to learn that she only does acute care because we would've loved to have her be our sons primary dr there, but we now see Dr Ipe who we love just as much and is just as caring as she is. Thank you both for all you do! Lastly, I struggled to breastfeed for the first 2-3 weeks and was stressed out and ready to throw in the towel but I saw Jen at this office instead. She completely changed the game for me and I am proud to say I successfully breastfed for a year! That was all thanks to Jen. If you are having trouble breastfeeding I cannot recommend her enough!! read more

Have been using them for about 12 years. Dr. Halegoua is great. My boys really like him. Wonderful Personal service. Short wait times. Clean office. Good follow up when they are sick. My oldest son is in college and they still help us out when he needs something and they have even called to wish him a good season as he is an athlete We have run into Doc outside of the practice and he stops to have a conversation. Absolutely blown away with the stupidity from the doctor here brought my son in yesterday morning complaining of throughly pain. And ear pain not only did it take the the doctor five minutes to look in my sons ears with he bifocals but just seem as if she didn't know what to look for as for the last 24 hrs my son has be hood both ears in extreamly pain screaming crying As a parent with a child who has had frequent ear infections since a baby. Staff is very efficient and always finds ways to help ease your pain of trying to locate other appointments, X-rays, etc. All the pediatricians are very good with kids and always seem to nail the issues before they become larger medical problems. I have met all of the doctors on staff and have nothing but good things to say about all of them. Dr. Nastasi did my daughter's ear piercing when she was 7 months old. Dr. H had always taken the time out to explain things and answer any questions I have. Dr. Iype (my personal favorite) is soft spoken with a great bedside manner for children. The NP Janelle is almost always available when I call for a sick visit and is very knowledgeable. The staff of nurses have always been polite, helpful and warm. For the few times I need a doctor after hours I received a call back from one of the doctors within minutes for advise on fevers, weird rashes and minor falls. Wait time for check ups are usually very short and within 30 mins for non-emergent sick visits. My 15 month and 3 year old have been going since birth. read more

If you're a new mother and anyone in the office refers you to a lactation consultant in their office or affiliated with their office, I DO NOT recommend them. I had 2 sessions with their "lactation consultant" - there were 1-2 of them that popped in and out of my sessions and neither of them was particular helpful or gave me solutions. Also, when they later billed these sessions as a regular appointment with me (the mother), instead of as a lactation consult which is supposed to be 100% covered by insurance, the billing reps backtracked and told me the professionals who saw me were RNs, not necessarily lactation consultants (whatever that means). It was a waste of time and money. The office should be more upfront about what they're actually offering. read more

I brought my son here several years ago when they were new and not so large. Through the years, I have noticed a decline in the care and the personal touches that had made me once appreciate their practice. If your child is mostly healthy and just needs the usual visits and a few sick visits then the large ped factories are fine, but for us they are not. My son has a chronic illness and I am sorry to say that this practice is no longer an option for him. We had an appointment that involved more than just open and say ahhhh and the follow up was horrendous. I was told to call back if I had a problem with a referral. I called twice to no avail then was told to come in today between 8-11 to talk to the practitioner. The practitioner did not even speak to me after leaving 2 messages and being told by THEIR staff to come in this morning. The receptionist who was not at all friendly and obviously did not understand why I was there came back after "talking to the practitioner on my behalf" and responded that I was given a referral and she didn't understand why I was there. So 2 messages and 2 visits later, nothing was resolved, but as the receptionist so eloquently informed me...."it doesn't make a difference anymore because he is almost 18 and we wouldn't follow him so we aren't going to give him medication anyway." read more

Trying to use this Dr two times has proven to be a headache and left me feeling I was trying to be accepted into an elite social club . My then two year old had a well visit and was frantic at the process to get him there on time he was hysterical and non cooperative at the time of his visit . We were the first appointment and were 15 mins late in the parking lot and at the front of building with the upset child .. after a very stressful morning attempting to get him in the building they refused to see him bc he was late and said it would throw off the rest of the appointments for the day ! Wow in all my life as a patient I can't tell you how many Dr.'s offices I've sat and waited over an hour plus passed my appointment times and that was considered normal .. and the first time my two year old makes a late appointment (I don't know maybe bc he's a child ) I would expect the office to maybe care and work with us seeing as that is who is suppose to care your Dr right ! Nope told by the office staff I had to leave and wait months to be seen again bc it's a long wait list for well visits !! Wow no compassion just treated like your a nobody get out ! Three years later my child's favorite nurse went to that same office so we call to get another appointment and we are told we were released from the office bc of our insurance change and we left the office ! They won't take us back ! Maybe it's bc we had fidelis then no insurance and then united health care community plan ( Obama care ) the office seems very snooty to my ins choices and doesn't want to see my two children . I feel discriminated against two times now ! I asked why we couldn't be seen and I was told it's their office policy and it's not disclosed to patients if you leave you can't come back !!!
