Peggy is amazing at what she does. Period. She genuinely loves her job and helping people, she keeps her finger on the pulse of design/staging/construction trends, and she actively stays on top of how the market is fluctuating and responds quickly.
She is remarkably observant of what sells and what doesn't within the context of your neighborhood. I learned so much from her. Her ability to visualize and maximize the layout of your home is amazing.
We started the process of selling our home with her about 9 months ago. We interviewed 3 agents and after Peggy left our home for the first time, my husband and I knew she was the one. She has a definite formula, having done this for 25 years and knowing our neighborhood like the back of her hand, and it was clear she keeps on top of the market and current trends. My husband commented that "she can probably do all this in her sleep" (in a way that was not like she was actually sleeping on the job).
Her goal is to make you a profit, and she understands the point of diminishing returns, as well as set you up with realistic expectations of your home's worth. Her contractor is excellent, and together they will figure out exactly how to make your home look amazing while striving to keep your costs reasonable. She went above and beyond for the entire long process, and while we were living in NC! She stopped by the day we moved to get our keys and she told me, "Don't worry about a thing. I am very trustworthy, I will treat your house like my house, and I will never let anyone in that I wouldn't let into my own house." Our moving company, who did an abysmal job (I wouldn't recommend Two Men and a Truck in Austin), left our garage full of our things (long story). I felt so bad for leaving a garage filled with crap for Peggy to deal with, but she assured us, "Don't worry about me." She offered to either ship or sell off our things for us and even supervised when the movers came back for our things.
As far as our house, it wasn't very attractive when we left, and we knew some major changes would need to happen to get it to sell (that is actually my home in one of her pictures). We never worried a bit about the process. All we did was throw money at it and Peggy made sure to use it well, always sending us receipts and even negotiating prices down for us. She was there every day during the remodel and sent us pictures, even going so far to mop the floors herself. When telling friends about how much she was doing for the house, many responded, "Wow, I didn't know realtors do all that." I always told them, they don't! But Peggy does.
When our home didn't sell as quickly as we anticipated because of unexpected fluctuations in the market, she pulled out all the stops to advertise. She injured her back at some point and continued to work tirelessly. When realtors tried to negotiate with her, she was always ready with hard data and facts to counter their assertions while always remaining professional (I mean, Wonder Woman and her bullet proof bracelets literally came to my mind when reading an email between her and another realtor).
Selling a home is always stressful, and ours had a major remodel on top of it while we were dealing with buying a home and settling into to NC at the same time, but Peggy had it all covered. read more
