I read the previous review by the family that showed up after breakfast had been stopped. I can completely understand their frustration, but when a restaurant switches from breakfast to lunch, they switch and that is it. Just like the fast food chains, BK and MC D's, when they switch over for the day, they switch. Best pizza ever! And we live in Chicago. Homemade dough, farm fresh ingredients (we had the Deluxe) and a side salad. The pie crust was perfect, in between thin and thick, and not a hint of "greasy". Polite and quick service.....we arrived at 4 pm on a Sunday. We were famished and halfway on a 33 mile bike ride, the nice lady in nearby Cedar at the Duck to Swan art gallery recommended Pegtown and was spot on.....always go with the locals!!! read more

The previous review makes me laugh a bit. Yes, at some point they stop serving breakfast. Duh. That's a tourist for you! Believe it or not, the entire county does not revolve around YOU. This is THE place to go locally for breakfast. The food is fresh and good and they will make sure you love it. They have an extensive breakfast menu and their pizza is fabulous. Amazingly fresh everything! All the vegetables in our omlettes were farm fresh and cooked beautifully. Breads from a local Traverse city bakery were outstanding. And OMG the blueberry pancakes, unbelievable. Only thing we could have wished for was real maple syrup, but I get it when the middle of nowhere and that's a really foody expectation .Service on a really busy saturday was so friendly it was like we were the only people in the place. I like how it was family owned, and staff was friendly. The wait was minimal when I went, and service was excellent. I ordered an omelet and it was fantastic. I would give the food a 5/5. The only reason they are getting 4/5 is due to their bathroom conditions, which left a bit to be desired. read more

We were vacationing in Glen Arbor and someone recommended this place as the best breakfast in the area. It was packed but we got a table after waiting just a few minutes. The waitress wasn't super friendly, but the other lady (I assume the owner) was very pleasant. There was only one cook and the food came really fast. Food was great....excellent omelet, pancakes, breakfast sandwich. They also have giant sausage links! If you want breakfast then be sure to arrive by 10:30 or so. I heard a guy come in at 10:50 and they turned him away because they switch over to lunch at 11am and they already had several tables waiting to sit down. Prices were a bit high...we paid $40 with tip for 2 adults & 2 kids. This is common up here though, we were fine with it considering the quality of the food. There was a $2 upcharge to add fruit to the pancake. There isn't a kids menu. read more

Cute little place to grab a bite to eat on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We were traveling with a one year old, they had good food, quick service, and were really friendly. Even provided a kid fork for the little one. I recommend the station breakfast sandwich! read more

The pizza was delicious! Loved all the different toppings and the amount of them. The only thing which would make it a little better would for it to have been cooked a tad longer. The dough was on the gooey side. I love a blond pizza...but not gooey. To be fair, though, we came in right before closing time and they were cleaning up. If it had been during regular hours, it probably would have been perfect. read more

Great place for breakfast if staying in the Leelanau/Glen Lake area. Had eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties were delicious and the homemade wheat bread was so crispy good. My son had the pancakes, he said they were awesome and wife had breakfast burrito which she said she is getting again. Coffee was great, service excellent and friendly. We drove 20 minutes to this restaurant from the Glen Arbor area with 20 minutes to spare before the hours noted as breakfast being served. When we arrived, the hostess said they were cutting off serving breakfast and couldn't seat us. We have a four year old who was hungry and are now left trying to find another restaurant Ina remote area. 40 minutes driving round trip for nothing. Not very hospitable. read more

Pegtown Station is a hometown restaurant with great food at good prices. The comment from the guy that could not get breakfast is lame. I was in the Restaurant business for 20+ years and always hated customers like him. Pegtown is a very nice friendly local eatery with a very small kitchen. They have ONE (1) Grill, The grill area is a one man operation. Once you switch to lunch its very difficult to do breakfast. I am not sure why people think restaurants should cater to every need. I understand that some people its only about THEM. I almost feel sorry for thoughs people. I have been sitting in Pegtown when people came in right at or 5 minutes after breakfast was done and since they had not switched/started cooking lunch, they served them. I highly recommend Pegtown for breakfast. They also have the best subs and pizza's around. They make there own sub buns and pizza dough. read more

C.S. My family eats breakfast at Pegtown Station every day that they can but they are closed on Mondays. It's the place to be in the whole area. They have a group table so if you come in alone, you don't need to eat alone and the table conversation may be life altering if you hit the right day. They not only feed your tummy but nourish the brain matter too. The owners are a sweet couple that treat you like family. Oh and their pizza is fantastic. read more

We visited Pegtown and bought a Togo pizza a few days ago. The pizza was good but the customer service wasn't what we'd expected after hearing so many good things about the place. The person making pizzas wasn't friendly or helpful and barked at my husband when we asked for Togo plates and napkins and the girl answering phones was completely oblivious to us and was working with her hair loose in the kitchen which we were turned off by. Not sure if we'll give it a second try. read more

let me start out by saying, quality food, always ready when they say it will be and for the most part amazing customer service. i have noticed though, that there's a new lady in there working. she's got short curly brown hair. she just comes off as really rude and short on the phone and stands at the front counter like she wants to kill herself she gives false information over the phone that could confuse people. i understand that she's new but someone should talk to her about her customer service. everyone else is great tho! read more
