I don't know what kind of oil they use for their food but it taste like it was burnt. Then I tried my egg rolls and they were not good either. So my experience was not good. Won't go back. This little place, tucked into a strip mall in Latonia, is a hidden gem. When I moved to Taylor Mill in 2017, I must have come here once or twice a week; so often that they started to know me (and my order) when I walked in! It was always busy when I visited Peking, with several families eating in and several more people waiting for takeout. It literally is the best "cheap" Chinese takeout I have found in the NKY area, hands down. I moved to Florence a couple of years ago so stopped coming by, but my fiancé and I decided to make the 15 minute drive from Florence over to Peking Restaurant last Saturday night for takeout, and we were not disappointed - great food at a great price and they even recognized me from years before. Just awesome people, awesome food, and awesome prices. Highly recommend this little place! Now I am wondering if it's worth the 30 minute round trip from Florence to get food from these guys more often... Don't listen to the haters on here - try it for yourself. read more

I ordered online from their take out , the service they use to place an order "Beyond Menu" I really liked & found it was easy to use & gave you the great option for "special instructions" for each item placed . The chicken I ordered was overcooked or old, very tough, the breading however was good & the vegetables were fresh. Been eating their food for around 30 years. I LOVE it. Very kind and friendly folks; excellent service, huge portions and have never, ever gotten bad food from there. I'm picky about Chinese food and theirs is at the top of the list for clean, tasty, hot meals. LOVE the Crab Rangoon. I can't figure out the bad reviews; started going there when the podiatrist office was next door. Laundry day! I was waiting on my clothes spinning in the wash, and had a craving for Kung Pao, because the good smells and people walking out with great big bags of yummy carryout forced me to place an order. My first order at any new Chinese place I visit is Kung Pao. This one was a good representation for the NKY area, as it was pretty light on the spice factor, but typical carrot, celery, baby corn mix was super crunchy, with lots of peanuts! I want to let this be known, the restaurant staff is kind and quick with the orders. But the overall ambiance is that of a rotting crack house in Brightmoor, Detroit.. But the overall quality of food, is absolutely terrible. I tried the Happy Family, since I enjoy a little bit of everything. It was very poorly made, and must've had some bad meat/seafood in the mix. I blame myself for trusting an establishment located in Latonia, KY that serves seafood combos. With that being said, I also had the Crab Rangoons, soggy and in a lack of flavor. The sweet and sour sauce was way too thick and just had this bad taste to it. The days following, I experienced the worst stomach pains and SEVERE diarrhea. We have always loved this place for years but last night caused me to never go back. We placed a high $ order in the restaurant (but online as they have a sign saying to do so) and paid right away. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes, so we left and came back. My daughter went in to pick up and they tried telling her we didn't pay. She argued we did, and we were just there, but they weren't budging. Thankfully I kept my receipt, so she came out and brought it in to show them. She said she didn't remember taking the payment then proceeded to walk back to the kitchen and look around. She then gave my daughter the food but it seems like she was trying to figure out an answer to give us. I feel like they were counting on us paying again. Had she honestly forgot I feel like instead of just walking around the kitchen she would have checked the register or credit card machine. I think she knew we had paid but didn't count on us having a receipt. Also after all that the food was sub par which is not what we have come to expect out of this restaurant. The only troubles with Peking Restaurant is that it's too delicious and too close to my house I cannot say enough good things about this place. Definitely my favorite Chinese food, but also one of my favorite local eateries in general. The menu is huge (this particular time I ordered Chicken Mei Fun, Bourbon Chicken, Cheese Wontons, Steamed vegetables, white rice and wonton soup) The portions are big (I'm going out of town on Saturday, cleaned out my fridge and trying to live off take out this week-so far I've managed to make 4 meals out of my order and am pretty sure I can get 3 more meals out of whats left) The prices are so good! So, I'm sitting at my desk (Yelping, of course) and my daughter walks in and lays the mail on my desk. It's a wad of advertising so I pick the clutter up and file it in the trash basket. I notice something different about a piece mixed up in the wad. It's black and red print on simple white paper. I fish it out and read, "Peking Restaurant, Delicious Chinese Food, Eat In & Take Out, Mandarin, Szechuan, Hunan, Cantonese" I read over the menu and it's brilliant and it's inexpensive and it's in Latonia by the Kroger on Winston, and maybe I'll stop in some time and try it... And, I'm about to throw the menu back in the trash and I see it..!!! On the front, I hadn't noticed it before, but there it was in big, bold black and red print... "WE DELIVER!!" Oh heck yes..!! A freakin' Chinese joint that delivers to my home... I didn't think there was one in this area, I didn't even know this one was in Latonia... I called, I ordered and it was delivered... I got the Egg Drop (Brilliant), Roast Pork Fried Rice (So Good), Sweet & Sour Chicken (the Chicken was Delicious, as was the sauce), and some Crab Rangoon (Mmm...). My wife enjoyed her Kung Pao Chicken & Shrimp (I did as well) and my daughter loved her Moo Shu Shrimp (and so did I.) Okay, it's about time I review my fave "greasy, guilty pleasure of a Chinese restaurant" that DELIVERS!! When I'm in the mood for some greasy Chinese food, I always start with the crab rangoon (they call them "cheese wontons"), served with that yummy pink sauce! I also ALWAYS get their "roast pork fried rice", it has so much flavor and so many pieces of tasty roast pork! This fried rice could be a meal in itself. The teriyaki beef appetizer skewers also have a lot of flavor and taste even better cold, the next day. The "General Tso's chicken" was good, lots of sauce and served with a good amount of broccoli. I'm just as happy when I order the basic "chicken with broccoli", it has a lot of veggies and just the right amount of the classic brown sauce. The menu is vast, but I usually stick to my "standbys" mentioned above. They are open 7 days/week until 10pm weekdays and 11pm on the weekends and again they DELIVER!! read more

I was really in the mood for Chinese one night, and I didn't know that there was one that delivered in my area. My husband didn't want to go out so I looked up Chinese restaurants on line and called a few. I was so happy to find out that this place delivered! I called in to place my order and the woman hung up on me before I had a chance to ask how long it would be here, and the price that I was being charged. That was rude, however I just chalked it up to a language barrier, and I called back to ask. When I called back I was put on hold for like 5 minutes before they came back to answer my questions. The delivery man did get to my house the exact time that they told me he'd be here so that was nice. Unfortunately that was the only thing that was nice about the entire experience. I got the cashew chicken, my husband got the chicken and broccoli, and we each got an egg roll. The food was okay at best, and saying it was okay is stretching it. It was really greasy, but that doesn't usually bother me. The sauce that is usually on cashew chicken was hardly even there. If there's a such thing as being both greasy and too dry at the same time... this was it. I'm not sure if it was just a bad night, or if this is the norm but either way I'm really sad/ disappointed. I would have loved to have liked the only Chinese place that delivers in my area. I did go inside their restaurant to eat before, and I remember like it... however that was years ago. I'll probably give it another chance sometime in the distant future just because I want to like it, and with the other reviews I'm hoping I ordered on an "off night." This food is pretty gross. I almost never throw away food, but I threw away chicken egg foo young from here. We ordered a variety of dishes: steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, egg rolls, and chicken egg foo young. I've had better crab rangoon from the frozen food section of the supermarket - and these were double greasy. The egg roll was acceptable, if under-filled and small (and, again, greasy). The steamed dumplings were okay, but not good: We wouldn't order them again. And the chicken egg foo young went right in the trash. The delivery guy was also very rude - to the point of hostility. Before I'd even tasted the food, that had me thinking I wouldn't order from them again. Bottom line: If you're going to spend the calories and money for delivery food, don't spend them here. read more

Chinese DELIVERY! What else needs to be said? The truth is that you will wait for a decent amount of time before your food arrives. Infact, if you're like me, you will call them asking if they forgot about you and your order, but that's when the knock / buzzer / doorbell sounds. There it is, hot and delicious! Placing an order for delivery over the phone can be slightly stressful. "Did they get my address, is my order going to be correct?!" I used to wonder this myself. The communication gap is a sizable one, with accents too think for a telephone system without pictures to point to. We will never eat here again. Ordered a large beef with broccoli. The portion was a lunch size from other Chinese restaurants and we paid dinner prices. The beef in the dinner was like chewing on shoe leather and the sauce left a horrible aftertast. The egg rolls had an awful taste to them. We decided to order from them one evening when we craved Chinese food but didn't want to leave the house. We expected it to be okay, and it was a little better than that. We have decided it's "pretty good". We have ordered from them three times (twice via delivery) and have had General Tso's, Veggie Lo Mein (there were very few veggies), Veggie Fried Rice, Orange Chicken, Beef and Vegetables, Egg Rolls and Pot Stickers. The delivery experience, however... Each time it took nearly an hour to get our food and we live three miles away. But the worst part of the experience was the very rude delivery driver. The first time we tried them, we payed online (they charge 50 cent convenience fee!) and included the tip. When my husband signed the receipt, the driver asked for a tip. My husband assured him we included that with our online order and the man started yelling at my husband! If they hadn't already run the card, I would have canceled the tip entirely. The second time we ordered it took forever and the driver was again, shall we say, less than polite. If you're hungry for fast food Chinese, this is as a good place as any. But do yourself a favor and pick it up to avoid the long wait, extra fee, and rude delivery person. read more
